First, if you dislike POV changes and Multiple Characters, this Story is not for you!
Synopsis: (Warning might spoil some stuff from the first few chapters....)
Damon, his little sister and his gf died in a car crash. Cue in Titania, yes, her, but not as Queen of Summer, but as a Chaotic Good Goddess choosing him as champion in a godly game of reincarnate chess.
Where every God has seventeen classes they can throw on the board, so to speak, and Titania has chosen him as her Sage with a Unity Tamer subclass. Why? Because Damon is smart enough to ask Titania how she would cheat the system and use loopholes to her advantage, he did not pick his build; the Fey Goddess herself did.
And so she reincarnated his Sister as a Lich, a piece of jewellery he is wearing, and his gf separated in a dungeon as a mimic. While he is the child of a princess conceived by dark magic the princess being a good mother despite that violation happening to her at the age of 13 (read the warnings that world is dark) by a dark elf and him therefore being a Dhampir/dark elf bastard prince (at age 10) in a nation that would kill them on sight if that would be lawfull (which is sadly is but for now that is forgotten by the populance not the nobility).
Now add some small complications aside from the World having a literal Gate to HELL and a demon invasion, like most reincarnates vanishing when the hellgate dropped a few years back or the “great effort” and success against the invasion…. He needs to survive in the lawfull good kingdom he is starting in that is so good with its laws (slavery, discrimination, nobility…) that their god is choosing a more distant relationship… so yeah, oh I forgot we start on trial for being a dark elf by birth and for that crime should be executed, sounds like a great wake up in a fantasy world right??
Style: Well written with POV changes and clearly stated at the end of the chapter from which POV the next will be, and some teasing for the reader.
    Story: So far excellen

As someone privvy to the first 25-or-so chapters, Veil of Chaos has real potential. I've read all of SME's works, and sometimes I find the chapters, while good, can be quite long.
Not VoC. It's punchier, and gives more fast-paces action when we come to fight scenes (trust me, they'll be there).
It has interesting GameLit mechanics, if a bit in depth at times, and I know SME has a whole planned universe for this including spin-offs if it goes well.
There's good characters here, with a lot of motives that aren't clear at first (in a good way). A lot of mystery. While it's a Damon-focused novel, there will be some PoV switching to start with, but don't expect that long-term, I think.
Some things have been pointed out to me, like the siblings constantly going "Bro!" or "Sis!", and I can see their point of view, but it does read smoothly if you just let yourself be whisked away. The grammar should be pretty spot on, but that's on me if it's not.
So, what are you waiting for? Fast-spaced SME writing is ahead, and with chapters coming out way faster than his other novels, it should be a great ride!

I've been reading his works for a while now and while this one was a bit out of my comfort zone. It has grown on me and made me wish for my chapters each time I get to the greyed out part. Each character is a tapestry that weaves together a greater story.

I've followed this author for years and I can say he truly does love his work and that shows. He is consistent in uploads and always make sure his work is up to par, as well as actually taking advice from his community. This work is no different interesting, good build up, and a power system that makes sense and is there to make the main character seem like the most important person to walk the earth. Anyone who is interested even slightly in this work should give it a shoot, it might seem a little slow at first but, if other works by the same author are anything to go by the off for it will be worth it.

I like the premise a lot, mc can be a bit dense but it’s not exactly egregious. The worldbuilding seems pretty good so far too. But oh my god… the little sister is seriously fucking annoying 😭 not in a cute way either like a “please shut up” type of way… I keep reading anyways cuz the rest is good but find myself scrolling past when she talks.
