Description
You can get more with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone. Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun. One man with a gun can control a hundred men without one. All you need for happiness is a good gun, a good horse, and a good wife. Remmi'swhole world has revolved all her life around the terrifying power of firearms. If you hold one in your hands, it doesn'tmatter how strong you are, how fast you are, how big you are, how rich you are. Man or woman, young or old, all that matters is your ability to lift that weapon and point it at the problem. So when she finds herself sitting amongst the clouds with a floating text boxasking her what she thinks power is, the answer is obvious and immediate. Not that she knows she's picking a class for a world that looks pulled straight from a fantasy. Now, a gun and a bizarrely generous point-based leveling system are the only things that allow her to stand between an eclectic group of newfound allies and an all-consuming darkness that threatens the end of their world. After all, all you need for a movie, they say, is a gun and a girl. UPDATED WEEKLY! A NEW CHAPTER EVERY SUNDAY!

- Michael PlymelRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Isekai is always great to read, and Gun Girl is one of the best I've read. I'm actually caught up on the Patreon too, so I know that there's even more good stuff coming for Royal Road readers. Overall, I have to give it 5* because it keeps me coming back chapter after chapter.
Grammar: Full 5* because I don't recall running into any grammar issues.
Style: First person is a personal taste, but I love it. And the author writes well in it, so I have no complaints. The narration parts provide depth to the world without overstaying their welcome, and the dialogue sections are fun and witty. I think there is some room for improvement when it comes to a consistent reading pace, but that's the only thing I noticed so far.
Story: I love isekai, so of course Gun Girl gets bonus points. There are also growth methods in the story besides just defeating monsters to get stronger. Things like farming, even. It's fun to see just what Remmi comes up with, which makes even the slower chapters a great read. I also love the corruption stuff, with how it's creeping out and infecting things, including people. Makes it feel like the walls are closing in, while providing a challenge for our hero, Remmi.
Characters: Speaking of Remmi, the protagonist is one of the best parts of Gun Girl. She's smart and strong, but not so much so that it becomes ridiculous. It's kept well within reason, but it also makes for some fun moments when she gets in the right mood. The supporting cast does a good job leaving their mark on the page, too. Everyone with a name has a unique personality that, if given enough screen time, would be easily recognizable even without having their name tagged in the text. In fact, the characters are the best part of Gun Girl, if you ask me. - BlastYoBootsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Not flawless but too amazing not to five-star: Ever wanted an Isekai where the MC’s modern engineering-focused education hilariously bewilders everyone around them WITHOUT feeling forced or repetitive, and their assumptions mean they still get things wrong? One with SMART, insightful writing that has you stopping to laugh out loud almost every chapter after the first few? One where the MC’s overpowered nature and a persistent lightheartedness of narrative doesn’t completely diminish the sense of threat or danger, and even a two-chapter glimpse of the true threat on the horizon is still utterly terrifying? I can GUARANTEE you’ll have fun with this one, it’s a page-turner that will have you chewing through chapters like cookies.
So, lighthearted and hilarious Isekai, with only a couple flaws that don’t even detract from my rating. First, despite the strength of the side characters, the few chapters where Remmi ISN’T the focus at least indirectly can be a little dry and straightforward without commentary on the MC Remmi’s antics to lighten things up, with a couple powerful exceptions. Second, once Book 2 puts the MC on the move away from her rapidly evolving homestead and its nearby coterie of side-characters, the rapid humor and advancement slows significantly at first because she doesn’t have the tools or foils to constantly bewilder everyone quite as often. I’m subscribing to the extra Patreon chapters shortly where I expect the pacing issue and humor to recover quickly the way things are unfolding. (EDIT: I now have, and YES, the pacing recovered quickly and had me guffawing at chapters again!) Third… maaaybe she’s a BIT too overpowered (okay more than a BIT), but part of that is clearly deliberate distance from the true threats giving her a chance to grow while they still loom on the distant horizon, and a supporting role it’s potentially implied she’s meant to serve for society itself before she’s thrown at the worst of the threat directly, starting behin - DavethemanRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0There's some nice worldbuilding and background charcters here. The MC is gun(g) ho and the progression is definitely broken. This is not a novel that has deep themes, so far. However, it does have fun action sequences, and is an enjoyable read.
A solid B+ novel. I find the autotranslate function censoring swearing amusing. - Aleks_KotovRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The premise might seem a bit clichéd at first: another isekai protagonist summoned as a Hero... except instead of a shield, her weapon is a Colt 1911.
While the initial vibe of the story may bring to mind The Rising of the Shield Hero, don’t be fooled. This is a wonderful slice-of-life set in an Asian-style LitRPG world. Its main strength isn’t mowing down nobles with modern firearms but the cultural clash between a modern human and a typical fantasy-world inhabitant. Honestly, the heroine is more likely to blow their medieval minds talking about an emu war than actually shooting anyone.
The early chapters don’t do a great job of showing what the story is really about. Once the heroine escapes the capital, though, it quickly becomes something halfway between Terraria and Stardew Valley. There’s building, crafting, cultivation(Literally cultivation, hehe), occasional dungeon raids, and more often heartfelt conversations with locals about how their world differs from ours. That last part is where the series really shines.
If I had to sum up the feel, I’d say it’s a light, mostly slice-of-life story. At least until the middle of volume two. That’s not a flaw, just a fact.
Story
Like many in this genre, the big-picture plot isn’t the focus. Think about Stardew Valley. Sure, it technically has a story, but it’s really about planting turnips, clearing land, and getting to know the people around you. Same here. The first volume and a half are a slow burn centered on atmosphere more than action. The second half of volume two starts to bring in something more traditional, but it’s still too early to evaluate.
Style and Grammar
I could read it easily, so everything is fine :3
Characters
There’s a fair bit of time spent in the POVs of side characters. Sometimes it’s excellent, like in Chapter 4, and sometimes less so. But it helps develop the supporting cast by showing their perspectives, even if it slows the pace a little and takes time away from the main heroine.

I’m - Haru Desu KattoRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0For so long, I've been avoiding this story because I thought the silly title was too silly to be taken seriously. I've had enough juvenile power fantasies to leave a bad taste in my mouth. Little did I know I had the wrong idea all along. This is a parody grilled to perfection, then it goes even further.
I came in expecting nothing, but the story deserves five stars.
Style - Incredibly well written. The author has an exceptional sense of what words to use where to get the best effect. I often catch myself giggling at nearly poetic turns of phrase. My particular favorite is the marketing department side of certain system messages.
Grammar - Absolutely perfect. If there was an error in the 30+ chapters I've done so far, I didn't notice it.
Story - The premise is cliche and tropey. The plot, especially at the beginning, if retold would sound pretty familiar. However, it's a parody of all those famous (or infamous stories). It's done perfectly and then it heads off in new directions. There are occasional viewpoints from other characters, but not enough to throw me off. In fact, one of my favorite chapters was from Lord Hagasu's wife. Wow... that was super creepy. I got chills reading it.
Character - The MC is hilariously realistic. Sure, she has superpowers, but she also has serious personality deficits which are obvious to everyone but herself. The side characters are likewise three-dimensional, with clear definition, thoughts, and behaviors to make them real. It's especially fun to watch the culture clash between their world and ours. - HelioLowCostRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Found the summary interesting, went for it, dans 2 days later i'm done reading wishing for more.
Thank you for making such a good and fun story. Sometimes I do feel like there's too much philosophical shenanigans or too much description halting the pace of the story, but it's reasonable enough not to bother me a lot. Keep up the great work
If I had money available i'd subscribe to the patreon, but that's not the case unfortunately. - KiriahRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The characters are well written and engaging. Scenes are not overly done and the combat is concise. Decent Power progression speed. The MC is moderately OP but not so advanced that they have nothing to worry about.
I would like to see some potential romance between the current party members but is not a requirement. I think it would add another element to their dynamic. Especially considering Ayre's presentation.
There were a few places that made me laugh out loud which is hard for a book to do.
Overall the story is Excellently done and well worth the time invested to read it. - Kitsu9tailsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0T' be sure it is not just a story with laughs and chortles and mad giggling. It is a strong story a gripping tale and I apologize I think talking to much about said tale can be spoilers so instead I can say the MC is so amazing and so ... ADHD feeling that I had so much joy in reading.
Though, I could put it down till I had caught up. A bad habit that if I were younger would keep me up for days. I still tried, that's just how good the story draws you in. - AvidReader2425Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have to say that I found the story to be particularly enjoyable, although I would say to give it at least 10 chapters.
The main character is a very intelligent young woman who was summoned into a medieval fantasy world after being asked what she thought power was. As a true American answers, power comes from the end of a gun lol. And so begins her adventures in a world of magic, where those using crossbows and bows understand that hypersonic rounds usually beat whatever they got lol.
Remmi is also a very patient. Individual, not really caring about the opinions of those predisposed to dislike her. She is very much a go-getter, she’s a problem, and works to solve the problem, and her intelligence greatly helps with that. Even if those around her start to stress at her independence and the repercussions of the knowledge she has available to her.
overall I would say that this is a pretty entertaining story as long as you give it a chance, and his lighthearted enough not to have a grim dark political scene in the background you have to worry about. The particular enemy of the story, the corruption, is also very well written and some great horror elements. - NononeverRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Honestly wasnt expecting much but its real good. Especially after the beginning stuff n she gets out to do stuff. Usually id say guns and medieval fantasy settings mix poorly but this ones really well done. No big grammar gripes or pacing issues, just good stuff all around. Oh really RR ? Not enough words well eat my ass and stop pestering me
