In the fractured world of Leycria, humanity ekes out its existence in the shadows of massive crystal Spires that purify the toxic mana that permeates the very air. Only those who don Containment Suits--magical armor powered by the very mana that is so toxic and a little shard of Spire--have ever set foot outside these sanctuaries.

Hai was perfectly content not being one of them. Until his home Spire ruptured, killing everyone except for him and forcing him to pilot a Cosu he is neither strong nor skilled enough to use. It brings him freedom that he never wished for, pain beyond pain, and a new not-quite family who're in a business he thought long outlawed by the Prime Spires; spellmaking.

He'll have to rebuild his life from the ground up, but this time, it'll be one all his own.
