- LackiesRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0There's a lot to like here for fans of these sport success types of stories. I like the initial impression of the MC, he's not a hardcore training zombie. like Zachary from Greatest of All Time, and while he has his witty moments he's much more even keeled than Player Manager's Max Best. If you're a fan of either of those novels there's a good chance you can find something familiar feeling and enjoyable here. That said other than some superficial similarities Soccer Crossing stands on its own.
Its still early days in the serial, but the pacing seems reasonable despite a lot of information and worldbuilding being established in the early chapters. Overall the "system" is comfortably in the background and lets the story and characters breath. There are a few notably weak bits interspersed throughout particularly where idiomatic or figurative language is involved. The chapters are generally grammatically sound and comprehending them is not an issue.
Overall, I think this serial is already on track to be an enjoyable read and it has a great deal of potential if the author works on their weaknesses and strives to improve diligently.
