Description

A comedy about digital chaos and finding yourself in 720p At 28, Aoi thought she had her life figured out until her decade-long marriage ended with a handshake, a shared custody battle over a rice cooker, and her ex walking off with the cat. Now freshly single, emotionally unstable, and armed with nothing but a janky webcam and a dream, Aoi reinvents herself as Ketsusaki, a demon-themed VTuber with a love for snacks, spite, and cursed karaoke streams. Between tech disasters, bizarre fan interactions, and collaborations with VTubers who actually know what they’re doing, Aoi stumbles her way into internet fame and maybe even healing, one chaotic livestream at a time. Because when life deletes your save file, sometimes you just have to reboot and become a demon. Freshly divorced at the ripe old age of 28, and with not a lot left to lose, Aoi is about to start again. Armed with a Live2D model, a gremlin personality, and a growing, delightfully unhinged and enthusiastic fanbase, Aoi's going to rebuild her life with the help of her alter-ego Ketsusaki, the demon queen of mild inconvenience!
As a narrator, Aoi is a delight. She's a little gremlin, and you can't help but root for her as she dives deep into the world of OBS, Twitch algorithms, and figuring out who she really is outside of her broken marriage and former friends she no longer fits in with.
The other characters are also great: Akane, Aoi's increasingly concerned but supportive older sister, Krei, the nerdy and supportive billionaire who's on a mission to ensure Aoi remembers to touch grass and Noah, Aoi's first collab. But one of the highlights is the input of the fanbase itself, and I really feel that this author has captured the chaos and the support that only a Twitch chat can be. Seriously, pay attention to the chat. There's some real gems in there.
Overall, this is a gut-bustingly hillarious read, with one of my favorite protagonists on this site. This story has earned all five of it's stars.

The story begins with our MC at the lowest point of her life. Recently divorced and left with no prospects or direction it seems like something that would be depressing or at the very least take a while to develop into anything approaching wholesome.
But that's exactly what it is. Wholesome.
This story perfectly captures the shared moment of watching a stream and feeling yourself join together with internet strangers and join together to be something more for an ephemeral moment.
Her journey isn't instant and is a collection of small moments as she grows and finds herself, but every step of the way it had a earnestness that really pulled me in.
I didn't notice any grammar issues and I felt the story was really well written and clean.
The characters are unique and varied with each one having good lines and witty moments.
Where it really shines is the story and pacing which feels like a runaway train, but still realistic and controlled like a joyride of endorphins.
I really enjoyed this series so far and it honestly made me happier to read it!
My hope is that the cat thief is punished and the rice cooker makes a triumphant return someday!

i dont know what this did to me but i feel like i have grown as a person for reading this
every chapter has a strange haunting energy and seems to have corrupted me for some nefarious purpose
In all seriousness this book is wildly amazing, the interactions between each character are great.

This story hits oddly close to home. Minus the chaotic divorce and suspiciously wealthy best friend, I see a lot of myself in it. And minus the multi-digit audience numbers, I guess.
As for the actual story, the chapters are short in a way that keeps everything fresh, nothing is embellished with unnecessary adjectives, moments don't overstay their welcome. All of the characters feel believable, many of them even relatable. And I especially adore the occasional chapter that displays Aoi's journey to digital demonhood from an outside perspective.

    Absolutely lovely story.
It pulls you in with an interesting Mc and keeps you hostage with chaos and pudding.
10/10 on every front, any errors you find may well be intentional at this point.
Instantly subscribed to their patreon as I got dragged into the story and needed more.
Strongly recommend giving it a shot, I’m normally a hardline litrpg reader but this story just won’t let go.

I like it. Very easy to read. Story is believable albeit, it is going a bit fast. Main character is likeable. Chat is realistic. Could clean up her room once in a while tho.
Personal relations of the main character are a bit op.  But i guess she got lucky and got good friends.
    Shame her cat is gone.
It is a good story. Dont believe me? Read it yourself.

This won't be for everyone, but for the people that vibe with it, you'll love it. I love the energy and enthusiasm thats written into the story, even with the background trainwreck of a life going on. The writing is good but it's the main character that draws you in, like a moth to the flames.

This is one of those stories that drag you in for the ride and you grin happily along. It's energetic and chaotic in a good way. It feels like a work of passion and something the author cares about. It's the world of v-tubing in a written package. Love it! Well done!

If anyone recognizes my id they know I am a major bibilophile. I spend 16~18 hours a day listening to books on 2x text to speech. So this means about 30 hours of reading a day. Over the past decade of this hobby I have listened to more books than most and this bat fat is too 5 feel good stories I have every listen to.

"I hope you burn your rice" do I need to say more this story js fucking awesome. This is peak goblin energy to the max and this feels real in only that same way you know it's happened to you or someone you love. Also for stealing her cat I hope all their rice is uncooked they bring shame upon their family from male rice mullon and shame on your cow for stealing her cat.(I needed words for the review limit and did not know what to say lmao)
