- monkeyspiderRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story is funny, and well thought out. The main characters alternate parody cultivation style is great, and makes internal sense. Honestly a better thought out power system then many serious novels.
I love that it's set in an insane asylum, and the author has been pretty respectful in showing metal illnesses dispite the stories comic nature. Overall a great fic. - CrazyknightRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0One of the most underrated stories on this site.
The premise is a meme, but manages to have complex 3 dimensional characters. Manages to bring something new in each arc. Surprinsingly, the setting is much more self consistent than the stories it parodies.
Eager to see how far this will go. - drewkellyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Of all the stories I have loved on royal road this one is my favorite.
It has everything I look for in a story which is I want to be entertained and yes I was entertained.
I've laughed and I've laughed and I've laughed. So, thanks for that.
This story has the makings of a classic ride up there with the national treasure that is Die Hard, Old Skool, and Van Wylder. - hakatri ginRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is one of those parodies that are so solid, they are still great as an actual story, even if you take the parody out
The idea of Chadness as a cultivation system is properly explored, not only as a way of power but as a philosophy for life.
Distinctions are made on what is power worth chasing, and what is self glorification, this leads to a situation where this Alpha Cultviator is much nicer and decent than the regular murderhobos of "righteous sects" from regular cultivation
It reminds me a lot of Beware Of Chicken, where the MC is cultivating in a way that makes it worth it to live by, by keeping relationships and attachments, instead of shedding all out for some grandiose idea of immortality, as its common in xianxia
That is the meat to the potatoes of how hillarious the Memetic Cultivators are, they do behave in ways suited for their memes, but the author makes it a point of distinguishing people from memes
The fights are both cool and funny, by relying on the natural extravagance of memes, and the often nonsensical attacks of xianxia
I mean, using "a punch loaded with heaven-shaking might and ruthless determination," is no more extravagant than an "alpha slap," making the Alpha Cultivation fit nicely among the other ways of the Dao
Come for the memes, stay for the actual plot and originality - BMan28yyeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is one of the most hilarious novels I've ever read. Taking aside the humor, the characters and their development, the story, and the imagery put this above most other works. One Chad sorrounded by pretentious cultivators and his goal to save the Earth. It's perfect in all aspects really, but for me, it was the giddy feeling when ready that made me go, "Hell yeah brother-man, beat his a**". I love it and hope that future readers will too.
- FahrenHype451Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm a man who hates xianxia by default - 95% grinding, 5% story is usually how that formula goes. This isn't that. This is better. I can only say I like it, and it is worth my time to read it. Perhaps the lesson to be learned here is that we can all, deep down, be the gigachads we were meant to be. Is that 50 words yet? Okay, good.
- Fionn FoxgloveRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Beautiful, absolutely gorgeous, and surprisingly deep.
When I started reading this story, I'll admit that my expectations were low, but even before the midpoint of the first chapter I was blown away by how funny this story is. The as I kept going it started to get me right in the heart, and snuck beautiful scenes right under my nose.
A true, chadly, expert's work of art. I can't wait for more, Mr. Author. - Just4jestRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Wow, this is phenomenal, I'm not sure how much longer the author can keep the story engaging while continuing on with all the memes and parody. I feel like most parody stories eventually fizzle after running too long, but I am definitely going to enjy the ride while it lasts.
- KentrumRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Easily the best xianxia parody I have ever read. But the best part is, that when the novelty of the novel leaves you, there's still a solid story underneath.
The story starts with a bang as aliens extinguish what makes us, us. Watch as the man sets out to save whoever he can and return the fire of hope to humanity. Filled with profound characters and with wit sharper than a Chad's jawline, it promises a thrilling ride to all it's readers. - MasterMRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Pure awesomeness, with each scene portraying different emotions, love, action, motivation - truly a masterpiece. I can feel myself getting less virgin-like and more chad-like in real time. The comedy comes naturally, not forced - allowing the plot to progress smoothly and easily. And yes, there IS a plot, an interesting one too at that.
