What would a dwarf raised on Earth do when System Apocalypse happens? Read to find out.

Derek Smith (what a name!) became a minor celebrity when his friend posted a video titled "The Real-World Dwarf is a cool dude!".

Being a last-year high-schooler who is 4'8 (142cm) in height is one thing, but having the muscles of a bodybuilder and the face of a middle-aged man at the same time is another. And don't you dare to bring up shaving in front of him. Did I mention that the boy's favorite hobby is smithing?

Derek always wondered if the gods sent him to the wrong world. Until, one day, Earth Awakened. With dungeons, monsters, magic, and status screens, everything became not so different from fantasy fiction.

The sudden change brought chaos to the world, but to the young dwarf, it also brought the opportunity to discover his true self. And maybe to reunite with his real kinfolk.

But first, he needs to survive. Who asked him to explore this abandoned mine at the worst time possible? Now Derek is trapped, and the only way to escape is to learn how this mysterious System works. Too bad there is no manual or teacher to help him with that. Or maybe there is?

i think the story provides a intresting POV on lit rpg apocolype setting in that the MC is NON-human. yes i would like to see other locations but "mine" is in the title and as the author has it wouldn't be as natural to out grow or leave the mine so fast. the MC i feel is as natural as he can be in an apocolypes where he needs to start with 0 info or tools or anything else

A good start to the story, interested to see there the Dwarf race goes and to get into how the system works with classes/races etc.
System messages are light hearted, good for now but beware that more serious story points may get their impact dulled, just as a pointer.
Looking forward to seeing where the story goes! Just wish the chapters were longer!

„Dwarf Smith From Earth“ is a story centered around a young man named DEREK SMITH who is ‚transformed‘ into an actual dwarf after a planet-wide event occurs, that gamifies the world; triggered by an AI/cosmic-entity named Enigma, who represents the voice of the system in this litrpg story. But this is fine, more or less, because DEREK SMITH has basically always been a dwarf for his entire life and has really embraced the ‚life-style‘ over the years, before all of this. Apparently having become a blacksmith’s apprentice and grown a full beard. Though this is hinted as having been his subconscious, natural development, rather than a conscious embracing of the ‚look‘.
Still, when the event happens, DEREK SMI– wait, what? Oh, you want to know why I’m writing out his full name every time? Good question! The answer is, the author does it too, so I figured I might as well. It seems a little odd, but here we are. DEREK SM- What? Oh. Okay, I’ll stop teasing now, haha.
-Derek is a fun young man who finds himself trapped underground as the ‚event‘ begins. Because he was exploring a mine-shaft that he and his friends had visited before, alone with his replika hammer Mjoolner, which is a great way to die by the way. Going into an abandoned mine on your own. But luckily(?) enough, the event takes place and Derek unlocks a variety of useful, very dwarven, abilities that help him survive. Which he desperately needs, because the world is seemingly out to kill him right off the bat. There are only 10 chapters as of this post, but I’ve really enjoyed reading them a lot.
The characters are great, I like Derek a bunch and I dig (haha) how he really embraces the dwarf inside of him. Who I love though, is the ‚system‘ character Enigma. She is clearly the best character, sorry protagonist. Enigma is great because she’s hilariously outdated, she’s basically if an ‚emo-rawr xD, hot-topic shopping, cyber-goth girl‘ became an AI and I love her over-emotive way of communicating through the menu

Pretty original spin on a classic. Is well written so far with minor mistakes. I also enjoy the interaction with the system in its progression I believe it will become more involved as the story goes forward. It is nice to see a brawler with a hammer instead of a mage or rouge quick is more common. Overall I enjoy how everything fits together and am looking forward to more.

great story. loved the characters. derek is a very intense person and believable. so far the story is moving along at a great pace. hope it keeps going. Elle is a crazy fairy, but so cute. The dolphid is a strange creation, but is interesting.  a beautiful goblin is different but works for the story. I simplylove the ogre.

Congratulations on creating a very enjoyable story so far.  With few glaring spelling and gramatical errors (about the only ones that I seem to notice), I am able to stay immersed in the story.  I am looking forward to reading to find out more about the world that has been created.

Great concept and a good execution. The story starts off right in the action and keeps it coming with only one or two chapters very heavy on "system boxes".
At points grammar and pacing could use some work but nothing that breaks immersion in the narrative. Overall very enjoyable so far. Keep it up!!

It is a good premise and world-building is made in a well thought way but the characters are kinda bland for now, it is early though. System has far more personality than the characters although it is a lot deferential to the mc which is a let down but nothing on the nose.

I first started reading this story when only five chapters were out.  I liked the start, but there are many other stories out there that share a very similar premis.  The author's overuse of the MC's full name was annoying, but otherwise I found little to complain about... but I also found little to keep me reading.  I decided to leave it.
I came back at chapter ten and came to the same conclusion, It was not a bad story, but nothing original enough to really hook me.
Now, I am at chapter seventeen, and I am back again.  I am not sure why I keep coming back, but I have been drawn in enough to want to see how Derek gets out of the mine.  I am hoping we will be seeing more of a plot than 'get strong enough to escape' soon.
Overall, I would say that the story is decent, but not original.  We need to have more reason to like the MC.  Character development is hard to do when they are alone in a cave and in murder hobo mode, so I hope we get past that quickly.  More world building would be good too, but again, world building in a hole in the ground usually turns into a lot of telling and not much showing.  Get him out of there.
The story is still in the very early stages of the story, so I will update this review in a month or two.

This story drags out far too long on several points. Then there is the premise of zeroing out HP, but the MC doesn't die; at a minimum that should require a respawn. The general idea of the story is a good one, but it needs a lot of work.
