Description

When the Empire fell, it signalled the end of an era of enlightened reason, peace, and prosperity for the Realms.

In its place, the fanatical godsworn zealots of the Grand Ascendancy arose to take the Prime Material in their dogmatic grip.

A Hero was needed. The System sought one across dimensions, across universes.

It found Alex Crosswood.

Dragged with brutal intensity from his above average, peaceful, and boring life in England, he must learn to navigate this new world quickly.

Undead, zealots, and ancient creatures of a magnitude he cannot fathom await him in the Realms.

If he is to succeed in the quest for which he was chosen, he must grow stronger. He must progress. He must level. He must cultivate.

More than anything, he must discover what it means to be a hero... and what it costs to protect what matters.

For in the Realms there are no shelters for the weak, no safe zones, and no second chances.

In a land of might and magic controlled by fickle gods, strength is the only currency that matters...

Unless Alex can Reclaim the Mantle, and bring back the dream that was Elysea.

Preface:I will update when I want to. Most likely Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, but that is subject to change both based on my availability and my desire. I will not commit to a schedule. It puts too much pressure on me, and kills my love for writing.

This is a passion project. There is a lot more explained in the Foreword in Chapter 00, so please read that. I guarantee most if not all future 'complaints' can be addressed there before they're even made.

Please enjoy this story, and leave any constructive feedback you desire. It helps me to keep writing. I am neither a professional nor even that good at writing, so please be kind.

A New World. A Thousand Threats. Welcome to The Continent.

Felix's life on Earth had become a series of dead-end jobs, ruined relationships, and rotating apartments smaller than most postage stamps. By all accounts, even his own, he was a coward. Too afraid to move forward, to take risks. Yet when given the chance to choose between risking his life or walking away from a deadly encounter, he didn't hesitate.

Moments before his untimely demise, Felix was snatched from earth and thrust into a magical world known only as ‘The Continent’. Empowered by the ‘System’, he learns that he can strengthen himself through combat and dedication. To survive he'll have to push himself beyond his limits, or else fall to the monsters all around him.

Levels, stats, and magic. Death is the start of a terrible fate, but if he lives…no one knows what he will become.

WraithbladebyS. M. Boyce

Connor Magnuson is going to conquer Death itself.A penniless drifter, Connor has survived the last eight years alone in a cursed woodland teeming with monsters that eat grown men whole. Shunned, forgotten, and with nowhere else to go, he looks death in the eye every night and draws his sword to face it. The forest, after all, burned the fear out of him long ago.Still, it hasn’t hardened the last shreds of his heart quite yet. When Connor hears a mysterious girl scream in the middle of nowhere, he ends up in a brutal battle that nearly costs him his life. His bravery does not go unrewarded, and in the aftermath of the fight, he finds himself bonded to the most infamous enchantment the world has ever seen: the Wraith King. The undead abomination grants him godlike power, but legendary magic always comes with a cost. Even as his fellow outcasts flock to him for help, Connor is branded as an outlaw. Kings and lords alike know where the wraith has gone, and they’ll slit his throat to take it from him. To them, a peasant like Connor is unworthy. He's a mistake to be corrected, and nothing more. But Connor is no ordinary man, and he’ll drag those hunters to hell with him if that’s what it takes to protect what is his.

The main character, Aurelian, starts out similar to other characters of an Isekai, but evolves into a dangerous Dark Slayer through hardship and harsh circumstances. It's nice to see him start out as an easy-going guy and develop over the course of the story, not only with new skills and abilities, but also in character.
The story is very well thought out and planned ahead. The strength of the main character is gradually built up more and more and seems coherent. I love power fantasy like this novel. Aurelian has tremendous growth potential and develops very quickly. I don't think this is necessarily okay for all readers, but I think it's great. The pace is just right for me.
The secondary characters are interesting and well developed. The world building is neat, but not over the top. I didn't notice any info dumps, but I still get a clear picture about the world the novel takes place in. The story is fluid to read and interestingly written. The author is very friendly and active in the comments at the end of each chapter. Therefore, it is a joy to read the novel and talk about the chapters afterwards in the comments below :)
This is a awesome novel, which I recommend strongly! :D

I’m enjoying this new work from the author, and you can truly see how he grew since his last work. It was mentioned in another review, but I love that Hannibal decided to take his time with the plot and improved the method of giving us, the reader, a TON of information without overwhelming us with a feeling of exposition. Each scene sets clear picture in your mind, with cinematic fights, cunning foreshadowing, and the occasional pop culture reference to get you laughing.
With each chapter, you learn a little more about the protagonist and his support cast of characters. Not only that, you can see how they grow, change, and you become invested in their achievements or setbacks. I find myself caring for this cast more than with the author’s previous works, they just feel more real and centered. We know who they are. And the villians are so much easy and fun to hate. Right from the get-go, you can tell they are going to be individuals you can't wait to see get their comeuppance. And when that happens, I’ll be cheering from the mountaintops.
Looking forward to seeing more for this novel, and the shenanigans the protagonist and his partner in crime get up to.

A few short words about the Story.
    - Our Chosen MC comes like always in a beatiful magical wonderland but you dont have to wonder how - You know it exactly. He has a job to do and not like "ups, why i am here and what should i do ... i just gonna go into the next City ... Oh, a dungeon break, i gonna be a hero blaaaa!"
    - Some people mind the "op traits and items etc." - But the whole story have an epic flare ... He is not "bob12321 rnd guy" but the chosen and the setup feels very well executed and just right!
If you wanna know not to do it - Read some chinse cultivation novels --> "Divine Something of epic something godslayer kind of First"
The epicness is absolutly fucking fine here. Read the discription and try it. If you dont like it change to an Book with a discription like: "Bob the farmer finds a skill book with 2 (TWO) Uncommon skills - Join his epic Journey for like 200 chapters where he got is 7 Legendary skills from his uncle/dying wanderer and is finally at the same point "
    - The grammer and the pacing a excellent so far, if the Author can keep it up its gonna be one of the best storys for sure.
    - We dont have 4-5 Chapters where he is gonna calculate and min-max stats. Some people really like something like that, but i feel its just boring. Till now no chapter got skipped and every chapter is "worth it"
    - We get a really intresting orgin here with plentiful space to grow.
    - A lot of mechanichs remind me of "Unbound" - No wonder because the author got support from Necariin. But if feels better executed - But mostly the same.
    - You can feel the "power-ups" its not like he is gathering 20.000 skills and forget the asap or "cool - i feel so powerful, but i cant open this jar because mehhh ... enemys are leveling too and its always the same"
    - If you searching a new litrpg worth your time give it a try!
    Have fun with the Book!
    Dragon-Rider MC
Vampire Trait (without the sparkels :/)
    Necromancer ... Kind of

This story has amazing potential. The style is great and so is the world-building. the system feels like something good turned into something unique and amazing. bro Aurelian gets more errors than cyberpunk 2077. It leaves so many questions for readers to ask and gets me hyped for every new chapter. the grammar is great save for the minor spelling error here and there,(we're all human). the style connects you to the characters and immerses you in the world. The characters are fleshed out and aren't just lumps of clay with basic emotions and personalities. Aurelian is a great mc with his hot-headedness and mouthy interactions. he sells the dude teleported to a world with absolutely no idea what to do but survive and do better than his past life. he has that drop of op isekai, but he wouldn't be the mc without it. You just can't support him and look forward to him getting stronger. The one thing I hope to see in the future is some extreme character development. I can't wait to read about future interactions and fights. I give this story five stars because I want to support an actually great story that will rise through the royalroad ranks and become one of the greats. I plan to read till the end even though it's just the beginning.

Not much of a reviewer but I will give this a shot.
I like the story, grammar and writing is good, some funny moments.
    Like the main character.
It has dragons and a magic sword and a princess so its got all the things you need for classic fantasy but it's also litrpg.

If you've read it, reread it. If your new, read it!
One of the great gems on Royal road this story has been lost for a year but is now back and ready to roll! The author is contracted to write THREE books!!! So looking forward to this, man oh man the hype is real!
    Style:
Flawless, it reads like a cream of the crop dungeon master story from DND. There is humor, intelligence, action, megalithic fantasy arcs, plot twists and intrigue! All down professionally, tastefully and tactfully.
    Story:
Go read it, really. I can't praise it enough. (But I'll try anyways)
The story follows our main character in a post apocalyptic fantasy setting. There are multiple points of view and I normally hate these. But as I read more from our pampered warrior princess's point of view it deeply enriches the world building, intrigue and reader engagement.
    Grammar:
It's English, grammar is hard. Author does great but also I'm not a grammar Nazi or anything so I don't know. Maybe you can find some phrases that end with a preposition but I can't find where they are at.
    Character:
Deep, rich, multifaceted and relatable characters. They have goals, convictions, doubts, fears. Best of all the numbers go Brrrrrrrr

This is really a fantastic piece; I love it. I smile every time I see an update.
It's written well, has excellent grammar, just the right tone on the blue boxes, and honestly, the story has *surprised* me twice now with plot twists I didn't see coming. I read a lot, and I didn't really think this genre could surprise me much anymore. Well done!

The prologue was a very nice twist on the summoned hero trope and his actual summoning was probably the most brutal I think I've ever read before.
The system is pretty standard and easy to understand but damn am I a sucker for these skill descriptions. I especially love the last lines were the System address' the Reclaimer with a quip about the skill.
In the end this is and very well written world that the authors writing and I can't wait for more
Even though the author killed Grandpa Bael :(
p.s. bonus points for making the church and gods the main enemys, I'll never not love that

If I had to come up with a single negative, it would be a criticism of LitRPG's in general, regarding the necessity to devote exposition to the way the progression system works. This one wwas done in an acceptable manner, fed to the readers over many chapters and in a manner that allowed characters to develop and differentiate themselves. The writing itself is awesome, the pacing perfect, the characters interesting, and the plot has me by the neck oh god please let me go.
But yeah, fantastic story so far, looking forward to more.

You ever read a story and then after 10 chapters feel like the Futurama meme "take all my money"? I felt that here. I support a few authors on Patreon and one of which is Nicoli Gonnella the author of Unbound. I find that Unbound is very, very slow but the setting fantastic. This story takes heavily from the parts I enjoy of Unbound and creates a main character I actually like. The side characters have depth and the progression of the story so far is magnificent. I see a lot of opportunities for growth and am very excited to see where the story leads.
