Description

When the rest of Earth is taken by the Tower, one corgi is left behind. Winston’s life was good. A warm bed, a loving family, all the kibble he could eat. Then, it was all ripped away, his family torn from him. Instead of serving the Tower, Winston enters it as a Contender, vying to reach the top. He wants nothing more than to save his humans. His family. But to do that, he must climb. One hundred floors. A thousand dangers. A million enemies. The rest of Earth’s inhabitants serve throughout the floors of the tower, slaves to the System. All while countless Contenders fight their way through the tower, some for wealth. Others for glory. And some, like Winston, had no choice at all. Thousands are dead on the first floor alone. Still, Winston must climb, pursued by those who wish for his death. Armed with his inherent cuteness and the unique ability to advance through eating, Winston faces the tower, determined to find his family—one corgi against the world. ------------- What to expect: -LitRPG -Tower Climber -Cute Corgi What not to expect: -Any Major Romances -Slice of Life

Okay so I need to tell you about Corgi Climber by J.T. Revell and I need you to take me seriously for a second even though yes it's about a corgi climbing a tower.
I clicked on it because I saw corgi and LitRPG in the same sentence and figured it would be goofy fun. Something light. Maybe the dog gets silly powers and it's all very cute.
    Nope.
So Earth gets invaded by this Tower. People get sucked inside. And this one corgi named Winston gets left behind. His family is gone. And the only way he can see them again is to enter the Tower himself and climb all one hundred floors.
Here's the thing though. The Tower is a nightmare. Thousands of people dead on the first floor. Thousands. And Winston is just this little dog with his little legs wadding into that. Not because he's brave or special but because his people are in there somewhere and he's not gonna just sit outside and wait.
I was not prepared to feel this much about a corgi.
The progression system is actually clever too. Winston gets stronger by eating stuff. Which like. Yeah. He's a dog. Of course eating is how he levels up. It fits perfectly.
Also don't expect this to be cozy. The author straight up says no slice of life no fluff. There's violence and trauma and a dog watching horrible things happen and choosing to keep climbing anyway.
Honestly I'm way too emotionally invested in whether this corgi saves his family. Didn't see that coming.

Here's an expanded version of that review:
Corgis are the best bois, 10/10. Seriously, the delivery on Winston's character arc is crisp—you're balancing the comedic premise (tiny dog in a deadly tower) with actual emotional stakes, and it's working. The guilt spiral after consuming Erynd's arrow felt earned, not manipulative. Great engagement with the System mechanics too; nothing feels hand-wavy. Followed and favorited!
An interesting take on the genre. Most LitRPG protagonists are either overpowered from day one or completely incompetent—Winston lands in this weird middle ground where he's genuinely trying to figure things out while also dealing with trauma and isolation. The soulspace cultivation concept is fresh, and I'm invested in seeing how the climb develops and what role Winston actually plays in "saving Earth." Keep this going dude! You've got something here.

While the chapter has charm and a unique perspective with the protagonist being a corgi, it suffers from abrupt pacing (in my opinion. However, Winston's personality is cute, I love him for that, and plus the dialogue between the humans is engaging. The humor needs a tighter storytelling to maintain engagement but overall pretty awesome.
The author has potentiel and, if done well, this could actually become one hell of a book
