Description

~Mantle of Gods~ A beloved progression fantasy novel about four chosen heroes destined to save the world from an ancient evil. Too bad they're complete idiots who fail spectacularly, leaving reality to burn in eternal darkness. ...But why did I have to transmigrate into this doomed world as Jin Winters, a nameless extra not even mentioned in the original story? And of all places, why Vienna — one of four cities destined to be completely annihilated in the opening act? Armed with my meta-knowledge and a cancer survivor's stubborn refusal to die quietly, I awakened the mysterious "Mantle of Harvest" — a power system the protagonists never fully understood. But knowledge is only useful if you live long enough to use it. Ninety-one days until the veil falls. Ninety-one days to grow strong enough to change a fate written in blood. Ninety-one days to prove that sometimes the extra can rewrite the entire damn story. ...Wait, why are my "quest visions" missing critical information? And what's this about harvesting more than just crops? What To Expect: > Weak to OP MC > Strong friendship dynamics and character development under extreme pressure >A protagonist who refuses to accept fate before he has tasted some beauties. > Good variety of side-characters with their own lives, motivations, and personalities. > Magic, stats, guns!3-4 Chapters/Week Schedule: MWFo_____________________o✦DISCORD✦PATREONo_____________________o You can access:- Up to 20+ advance chapters- Updated Character Images (Free)- Fun and interactive polls- Private community- Fan requests- And MUCH MORE

The story is definitely well written and seems to be inspired heavily by a lot of Korean dungeon break novels. Especially I think Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint, The Author’s POV, The Novel’s Extra and Solo Levelling.
The character design of the main character also seems to be similar to DMC’s Vergil and Sephiroth from ff7. Not in terms of personality but in clothing and appearance.
It’s too early to judge whether it’s a good book or not atleast until the end of this Vienna Arc. So I will not be writing an advanced review.
The only gripe I have with the story is the naming scheme of characters feeling very uninspired. I mean come on, Rudeus Whitehart? Really? That’s so generic. You have chosen Austria as the country so you could have taken more Austrian/germanic influence for naming. I am almost sure you chose Rudeus because Mushoku Tensei but that might be a reach…. And Jin Winters? Do you realise how close it sounds to Jin Woo?
Overall I think this story deserves my attention. The author has genuinely put in some thought into the power system and understands this kind of novel well. I have seen some tropes reused from other stories of this type but it hasn’t been very egregious

This is pretty good so far and I'm only into the "i wrote this webtoon style before I figured out RR existed" bit so far. Standard "MC isekai into favorite story" a la Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint (with a few direct nods, stares at special skill), and he starts with some VERY delightful starting gear.
This is absolutely an OP-MC popcorn story, and while he's not constantly tooting his own horn, he DOES have top-grade gear, the ability to cast spells way above his own level with very little ongoing consequence, and plenty of other benefits. Downside so far: He's met about 5 entire other humans. The cast is a little lacking (i assume until you get past this first "in the dungeon" arc.)
You want popcorn and a nice little "let's rewrite the book I like" story? This is a good pick.

For a first time author this is some amazing work. From the character development to the story line it captivates the reader. Making them really want to see what happens next. Some parts feel a little rushed or rough around the edges plot/dialogue wise. It’s still a great story that shows promise for an extensive world to explore.

I am so enjoying this story.  At first I was unsure, as the start made me unsure of how the character would engage with the world, but when the best friend shows up it just blossoms. The teasing between the two is great, and the MC being able to feel connected to the people in the world he enters as though he is the person that was there, but yet still be HIM is masterful.
If you are looking for a story with laughter, adventure, and situations pulling up on the MC, you won't want to miss out on this story.  MC uses his knowledge well (so far) and plans for the worst while knowing the odds are not in his favor.
Im still early in the story and its nearing midnight, but I do not want to stop reading even though I must be up at six and have a full day.
I want to see what happens when Jin and his friend leave the dungeon, how much of Vienna is left?
I hope that when they exit they have a chance to save the beast friends family,  and change the fate that Jin knows the world he enters had.

The story is great so far, I got to chapter 24 and I just started. The mc is like broken but he still needs his friends to back him up, the mc is crazy smart but even they make mistakes, the characters are detailed, system windows are clear and understandable. Also a major pet peeve of mine is when the mc doesn't realize the obvious vague system setting for like a cooking class were their skill is literally can cut anything, but they are like dang it I guess I'll be a chef but back on topic the mc has realized some of his class's major loopholes and does plan to exploit them. Anyway it's great love it.

I have now binged this entire fiction in 2 and a half days. This is very entertaining.  Well written plot, well written characters. The only issue I have with this fiction is pacing. Though, honestly I can't seem to articulate the problem very well. It is both too fast and too slow at the same time. The MC gains power at an unbelievable pace, and yet he is still in the city he started at, facing the same problem he identified upon arrival. (Admittedly it is a very complex issue and I wont spoil anything for those who want to read this)
All in all I would recommend this story to all who love a good power fantasy. In my opinion  it has its issues, but is still very entertaining, and thats why I read to begin with. Well done.

Sometimes one wants to give shit to some Heroes, call out their stupidity and finally just strangle them for just being an absolute mess of person and failures even with all their unfair advantages and Cheats. All because sheer incompetence. The MC, Jin is basically the dude that has to live with the consequences of living in a world where the heroes are just having negative numbers in the wisdom stat. And took it on his hands to genuinely survive by stacking his deck as much as possible. There are twist, there is abusing the knowledge of the setting and then there are the reveals.I really loved the reveals, even if I haven't reached the point where Jin has meet the original gang of the setting I really hope he kicks their asses.

Good story but details of gear seem a bit much. Covering stats and info for multiple items in one chapter. It just felt like much at times.
Characters have interesting details to get you interested in them. It has an occasional mention of those on the outside but not overly so.

[Chapter 77] At this point i'll pass from reading any further. All the laundry list of skills and what not for the past few chapters is not what i was looking for. Don't get me wrong, Mr. author is a good story teller. Just not good enough for me to keep on reading/listening blocks upon blocks of fillers of whatever skills the MC harvested from others.
Thank you for the read Mr. Author, may i find one of your works in another reading binge next time.

Extra's Mantle is a story with a lot of promising parts and some notable flaws. I don't think it's something I'll keep reading long term for now, but at the same time I'd be happy to come back for another draft or something else the author wrote.
    Pros:
There are a lot of fun concepts. You can really feel that the author has a passion for the story and genre(s).
The mantles and character builds feel promising.
The world building isn't super developed yet, but feels like it has a lot of potential.
In the good moments the story can be a real page turner.
The dialogue and lil bromance with the friend character are both fun. The two character focus feels refreshing.
Fight scenes feel pretty good, although they rely a little too much on every spell/attack 'digging into the dregs of reserves' and such.
The quality picks up over time compared to the early chapters.
The nuts and bolts of the writing are pretty good especially after the early chapters.
    Cons:
Power scaling seems way off. MC already has the advantage of crazy encyclopedic knowledge of the world and he gets sent to and its future.
He is also immediately a skilled combatant even though he was just a random cancer patient on earth.  He also knows tons of extremely flexible sorcery he can just instantly remember and use. There's no adjustment, learning, or earning it, he can just instantly do all of it.
On top of that, after the first few fights he gets immediately loaded with several end game feeling epic items, a skill that just straight up tells him the answer to puzzles/fight mechanics, and super rare cultivation method. He can also leech enemy power. Jin has gotten like ten things he calls 'completely broken' before he left the first dungeon.
    --
Pacing seems way off in that it just time skips from boss fight, to loot/power up, to boss fight. There are power up scenes thrown in that are three times longer than the boss fight that 'earned' them.
    --
There's a bit too much going on with separate mantles, cultivati
