Even though this is a different story type for me, I very rapidly become engrossed in the tale and could not put it down. The gaming statistics aspect is something very different to me, but has no negative effect on the story itself from my perspective. Please keep up your great work and write and publish more here. I am looking forward to future installments. - BurlRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0The MC is basically a beta tester for magic software that is being built in an Agile manner by a developer which is widely regarded as a god. Regular testing by the MC results in steady improvements to functionality to said software.
Like many time loop stories, the MC has some advanced knowledge. I read a lot of this genre so that was fine by me. In this case it is really mild in that it was before his time and there were gaps in history.
The people he meets do indeed gravitate towards him and quickly become loyal. Bear in mind, he was sent to the starting location on purpose, he has a rather insane deadline he's working against, and there isn't really adequate time to do a bunch of recruiting and vetting to assemble a team. All that to say, he leaks his secrets pretty early and I initially had an issue with that but recognize now that it was necessary if he was going to start off important relationships based on trust.
I've enjoyed this story and find it a very nice read in between darker stories and ones that involve treacherous people regularly sabotaging the MC.
So if you want a story with a powerful MC that is able to get the drop on his enemies due to power, knowledge, or helpful new friends, give this a try. :) - chaogoesmuRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Everything is too inconsistent and perfect to suspend disbelief. Characters seem too well inclined, trust is unshakeable once formed, the magic system itself molds to the user and suddenly there's a plot twist that makes it even more about the mc. It's not bad, but it doesn't feel like a real world once you get past the warlocks. Characters suddenly having a very influential backstory... Hidden depths of the magic system are always too perfect for the situation. I think the author has potential but this story world and characters feel too unformed and protean and they are being made up as they go.
