Description

The dream world, a utopia of magic, quests, kings and princesses, all set in a fantasy world where Academy dating was the one and only chance to find true love and adventure. This was the dream world for Laura who grew up reading about many worlds, but ultimately fell in love with the world ofTo Love An Empire, the story about how one woman set to inherit a dying kingdom must go to a magic academy where she would forge friendships and pacts that would ultimately help rebuild her lost empire.

Laura always dreamed of being in this world, the magic system was so diverse and adaptive. The world had so many hidden secrets and easter eggs that she would get lost in the game play for days, searching and exploring each and every section that the game world had to conquer. Yes, there were dragons, but nothing said I didn’t need a man like being able to single handedly slay a dragon by herself.

Well that wasn’t entirely true. In the world the main heroine Princess Claudia Von’Roseblade had one faithful servant by her side. The cute, feisty, but ultimately loving Ugly Fat Friend that always accompanied her on her journeys.

At the time of her death Laura’s one true wish was to be reborn in this bright and fantastic world. Her thoughts were that even if she was reborn as one of the evil love interests she would still easily be able to woo Princess Claudia, that or rebuild her own empire that would then conquer the Roseblade kingdom.

What she didn’t expect was for her wish to be fulfilled. Nor, did she expect to be reborn as the Ugly Fat Friend, the one that was cute, but only made cute to show off how truly beautiful Princess Claudia was. The one who was healthy and vibrant to be around, but only as a rebound girl for when Claudia ultimately rejected another suitor.

This was Laura’s second chance at life in her dream world, as anything but her dream character. Now Laura must traverse the awkwardness of college level classes, learn magic, partake in quests, and ultimately help her master find the best match to help her regrow her home to its former glory. At least those were the instructions that Laura was given when she entered the world.

Whether she listens or not, now that is what this story is all about.

It has some funny moments, but so far is more of a series adventure story.
I would definitely recommend you give it a try.

This is more of a traditionally fantasy story as opposed to the cartoonish style typical of otome genre works. The original world of the Protagonist is futuristic enough to have immersion virtual reality, which adds some mystique about whether the protag was really transmigrated or if something else, potentially more sinister or maybe mundane, occurred.
At this time, at fourteen chapters in, the chapter length has been good. Meaty enough to be satisfying, and lacking the kind of bloat that damages pacing.
The half star nicked from characters is based on a side character that feels off to me.
And at this point anything more I have to say is going to be full of spoilers,  so ...
The woman who wakes up as the otome MC princess comes across as brainless to the point of being like some death seeking chuuni teenager. I know there are stupid older people out in the world, but surviving to 35 years old generally gives people at least the hint of a self preservation awareness. Enough that I expected the person to have more of a reaction to going from surgery to an immersive gaming situation.
That could be addressed if the author spent a touch more time going over just what the state of gaming hardware was like in the protagonists original world.

I read the whole thing so far in one go. The whole time I was kicking myself for loving it. It's so silly, while still enjoyable. That way it takes itself completely seriously just leaves me giggling.
Style - Generally good. Simple, easy to read. The author uses good form to keep your attention. No real complaints.
Story - The genre is already cliche, but that doesn't make it any less fun. The pacing is frenetic. It starts fast and gets faster. The sense of new abilities coming online every chapter and numbers constantly rising is laughable, but still fun to read. I guess it makes sense in the game world the character inhabits.
Grammar - Decent. There's a few broken sentences and occasional obvious mistakes when a homophone is used instead of the intended word. For example when one character "logged" eyes with another. I don't really care and it's easily fixed. In comparison, I've gladly read much worse, and loved that too.
Character - Interesting. I really enjoyed reading through the MC's cognitive dissonance when they realized they were stuck - or dead - or something. I like how they just chose not to think about it anymore. Likewise, reading Claudia's point of view is likewise entertaining. She's more than just cardboard with her background motivations and prejudices all front and center.
Overall, a fun read. Recommended to anyone who likes the genre.

The narrative is compelling, and the characters are well defined. Getting a grasp of some of the characters could use a bit more rounded personalities. Though they all seem to be unique and carry a distinctive voice. The plot seems a bit chaotic without much overt foreshadowing before taking the character in a direction. Of course, this may be my perception as a reader and in the mind of the MC it may make more sense, either way it could be better conveyed IMO.
I believe that as an author your writing style could be further refined by improving the prose; specifically, the flow of the narrative. I find the one sentence paragraphs a bit off putting (despite this being a common staple of RR writing).
    I hope this helps.

Interesting initial set up, and somewhat novel magic system. That's it.
The writing continously yeets you out of the story by ruining immersion. Mostly due to grammar issues.
The descriptive style skirts fourth wall breaks, and likes tense switching.
Missing or wrong punctuation. Sentences are chopped up. Some outright do not make sense, no matter which way you turn them.
Unlikable mc. She is like some toxic k-pop fan. Zero empathy. She has only eyes for the object of her worship, which is the game/novel. All the negatives that the descriptive style tries to showcase about Karen are irrilevant or not there by choice. Or worse, boons hidden as faults. Even her being ugly, is relative to comparing her with the princess,  which should be the main character of the Otome game. The mc is super mega OP, and even gets lucky to top it off.
Hints of plot holes from chapter one.

The characters in this are simplistic. They lack the depth of anyone close to realistic and it feels like the author cares more about what happens then who and how it happens. For instance the main character is isekaid, knows it, confirmed it, actively thinks about it, but still tries to "logout" multiple times in several chapters. This shows either the author doesnt respect the characters intelligence or alternatively the attempted logout was just something they wanted the character to do. It didn't feel organic or natural. This combined with the lack of descriptions, and so far only two non background characters speaking and I lost interest.

Honestly the story feels like it should have a good premise and story enough to hold it up.
Sadly I feel that the first few chapters tells us we can expect little character development and much exposition dumps.
The first chapter isn't used to introduce our main character Laura. Except when she somehow sets herself on fire while using a microwave, I felt at first like the author wants us to think her clumsy and airheaded. But in the same (first!!) chapter we see that Laura is pitted into a new world where she is apparently a gosh darn genius.
Were I was expecting to learn who Laura is, what she feels after BURNING ALIVE, we instead get her chattering about how overpowered this Karen (yes I giggled and maybe a Karen joke to myself when I first saw this in written format) character is. How fucking baller and unnecessary useful Karen is to the main character of the game. And now Laura is in this body. With five hours to figure out what she wants to do. Should she go with the story and join the main characters story arc or go rouge?
In short I felt that the first chapter could have been focused on Laura getting over the fact she BURNED TO DEATH or at least acknowledge that fact. I don't say that the information we are given is not important but I felt that the info could have been spread out over more chapters than just dumped into one chapter.
I also don't understand Lauras choice in going for the unknown road. Simply because I don't know Laura as a character. The only things I know for certain about Laura is that
She's an idiot who somehow manages to exploded her microwave, then runs right back into her house to burn to death. She apparently is from a world which has VR games like Sword Art online, she apparently has time and energy to spend countless hours learning a whole ass magic system that is just a game in her world. Enough so that she can become master at spellcasting within just a few hours. She seems totally unbothered by the fact that her running away could
