The Will of the Strong
Community Rating
Description
The story of a young man named Alec. Alec was a really good person. He was taught to help others and not cause trouble. His good nature caused him to always be pushed around by others. This causes him to have a repressed rage that he keeps bottled up. He never gets to unleash that rage though due to his untimely death. Alec has plenty of use for it though when he is brought to a new world filled with monster and magic. In this new world the strong trample over the weak. When reaching this new world Alec makes a vow to never to let anyone determine how he lived his new life and to do whatever the hell he wants for a change. To accomplish this he becomes a necromancer, which is a profession that is hated by all.

- Forgiv3n324Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Alright what the fuck is that 'review' that states: A necromancer isn't exacly the strongest mage you can be.... WHY ARE YOU GIVING A REVIEW? This is a REVIEW NOT COMMENTS.... REVIEWSSSSSSS it urks me so much that he went on that rant and didnt say a SINGLE GOD DAMMED THING ABOUT THE STORY OTHER THAN HIS OPINION
Now i'm only doing this because of one real reason. The story is already dead, the author went on to do a rewrite before I wrote this so this 'review' section hardly matters anymore, but regardless im going to downvote my own 'review' because this isnt a review this is a comment and this isnt a review section kids don't copy me or that asshole either XD - StarstarterRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Honestly I just couldn't stop my self from giving him a five star. Great novel got me hooked right away. Pace is good and shows the main character developing. I really enjoy the authors out look on magic and his creativity in using it. Good luck author and keep it up!
- dendel5Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is my second review so I am still not really sure what to do or say. So let’s keep this short. I like this story and I demand more chapters! I like the polls that you use. It gives the feeling that you are listening to your readers. I like necromancer stories. It is so sad that there aren’t more of them. I love the POV changes from the last few chapters ( I am at chapter 17). The characters are likable ( I count the skeletons as characters because skeleton lives matter) and I hope there will be more. That’s it I guess.
Keep up the good work. :) - MyriddinRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Firstly, I like the story and you can see the scores, but in response to the other review.
Yes gaining personal power would be good if you mistrusted people and wanted to be able to go it alone, but I think Alec wants a bit more than that, and being personally powerful won't let you stand against a kingdom on your own. If however you have an army of the undead? Well then its a bit more possible. This is also about abandoning everything which tied him to what he detested (another way in which the necromancer is a good choice) and when it comes to utmost destruction a mediocre necromancer will always be able to do more than an excellent spellsword or melee dps class. Its about reach and being able to multiply your force. As good as a swordsman or mage would be in personal power, it cannot content with being able to form squads and armies of undead which can operate nigh independently, which is needed for the kind of power Alec wants I think. - poiupRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Nation building? Hope you keep that promise. Story so far is good can't wait for more.
- SedactiveRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Edit: An undead army is just a swarm of mindless scraps of bones.
While a mage is a tactical nuke, in our modern age we do not fear the military we fear powerhouses like america or russia launching their nukes.
The diffrence is that america as a whole produces such power but if "a" lone mage has the power to even do 50% of the dmg a nuke can acomplish with a spell then by the gods a necromancer is just a little joke in comparison.
Also what would you want to do with an army of undead topple a country and be happy without subjects as your undead army just ate all your new slaves?
As an alternative being a godly assasin for instance aided by powerfull magic can make you the puppeteer of a kingdom.
Pitting a obvious enemy against the world namely the foul undead is a good way to paint a target on your face asking to be murdered when your punny bones cannnot save you.
Nor does a necromancer have any mastery over other forces than his pitifull death and decay.
A powerfull arc wizard can just teleport away while letting his enemys smell his farts.
I am not sure what type of world you have planned but if i had a bone to pick with people that try to control me or profit from me.
I think i would take a path that gives personal power instead power based on how many bodies you can get or how much of your humanity you want to sacrifice.
Oops humanity is also capable of such vile acts so yea i mean how much of his apathy he wants to degrade becoming stranded alone in the world as he cannot understand anyone anymore.
Power is nice but it depends if its truly yours...
