Not going to lie, this book cost me a couple of nights sleep because I couldn't put the damn thing down. Fortunately I managed to end my binge reading in a good break point in the story, now to check out what other fiction this author has created. Definitely added to my follow list.

to preface, I liked this story, and it has a good system. i read a decent portion, and got stuck on a bit that just doesnt resonate with me well. that said, this story does have some flaws.
style: as with most from this author, the style of writing is pretty good. they use a large amount of descriptors, they show conversation well, and it has a nice flow. there is an above average amount of appearance descriptors (i.e. ugly, pretty,) used in combat in ways that dont make narrative sense or are unnecesary, and the author uses more swears and blunt communication that is normal, but this is normal for this author.
grammar: this author has great grammar, and it is clear that they either have good editors, or they re-read a few times to fix mistakes. they will sometimes overuse a descriptor, but pretty good overall.
story: story is overall good, has some plotholes, but you can ignore them.
    characters:
in the first hundred chapters, most characters are either three dimensional, or well made cardboard cutouts. the MC acts odd, but that can just be a quirk. the MC's companions are there, and do all the good things a companion does, but also lets the MC go off and do his own thing, being more of a group of characters. from then on to the point i dropped it, the characters became more plot devicey, with most being stuff like "greedy banker" "love intrest" "general" "kind store clerk", being less 3-dimensional, and more mediocre cardboard cutout.
    the bad:
in the Post heist, the love intrest combined with the town and the money and power makes the story go from a apocalyptic system survival to a hedonists paradise, with fancy apartments, amazing food, constant refferal to the MCs competense with sex and sex in general, and any and all character interactions being "man, people in power bad", "wow, MCs so strong", "you have so much money", or "wow, i love you". the MC overall is kinda weird in that he hates the elites and complains about their benefits, while being an elite who i

This book hits all the right notes. I love the character and I want him to win. I respect and enjoy his attitude. I like the system and the World building.  I like the backstory and the initial set of challenges  then the Intense training regimen.
The pacing is great,  I find myself repeatedly happy with what I am reading and looking forward to what's coming next. I think I'm going to love this series.

I like it very litrpg lite with lots of action however it doesn't feel rushed or like it's just one fight after another with no purpose it's got good pacing. main character is interesting and likeable and the world is grimdark but I like that too. I can't wait to go on the journey and see where and how the characters grow and evolve.

I am intrigued by the system here.
The invasion of the world to introduce classes as a total unknown requiring exploration by the main character and his friends as to the particulars of how they evolve and how to develop skills completely works.
There is good combat, as well as excellent social interaction. Now we wait to see how it develops!

A darker than usual take on the already dark theam of a system apocalypse.   The system is not free nore is it fair and no one is given bonuses for starting in a bad situation. The main character must pay in pain, blood and scars that run far deeper than his skin for every ounce of power he wrings from a world gon mad.

Overall the series is great but the pacing is all over the place. And we haven't even gotten into the heist part it just suddenly derailed with the lich arch. I mean focus on one thing man. And then there is the PLOT ARMOR. Its so thick you can lick it. I mean it's cool if the OP gets lucky sometimes but from chapter 1 to 53, OP keeps pulling shit out of his ass like essence powers , and resisting mind effects not mention he didn't really explain well what happened after the initial destruction of technology and how the world ended He basically skipped 6 to 12 months in a few chapters not explaining why it happened or how and what were the response of the local government units no he just so casually explained that they hid in a bunker with a working radio for months.

Even though I love this story I will say that it has major issues that also appear in the authors other works. However many of the issues appear earlier in this story than the other books. I think that this story has several plotlines that almost seem to get dropped and complealty forgotten about. The other thing that bothers me is the love intrests. The MC gets attatched to people very quickly and makes drasic desions on the behalf of people that he has known for only a few days/ weeks.
Silver Fox and the Western Hero definitely has some of these issues but they showed up much latter in the story, while there were plot discrepencies in this story from the start. Maybe it because the author plans to tie all the stories together and I am just missing something?
Still this story is pretty good as all of MH Johnson's stories seem to be.

It's a fun read for aure, though occasionally it feels a little ... dark? Juvenile?  Not sure how to describe it, but sometimes I skip a paragraph or two or three.
I like the premise, and the power set exploration. Wondering how it can scale without being too much- but then that's the risk and adventure of reading lots of web novels.
The juvenile feel I mentioned before may actually be intentional since the MC is a young adult. If that's the case then I guess kudos to the author for weaving that right, even if it's a little blah to me sometimes.
To reiterate though, I enjoy reading it, and am hoping the author posts a few more extra chapters up for fun;)

Authors back with another LitRPG Apoc story.
Plot is slowly dished out over the first couple chapters. You slowly get the basic premise of whats happened.
Tons of insight into the character as the author always writes extensive inner thoughts and description. Like a lot. Read the first couple chapters to get the feel for their writing. Its not for everyone.
Looking forward to see how our MC games the potentially hostile system or at least the ridiculous odds outside waiting for him. Minor litrpg so far. no blue screens ever.
