The Hero Who Never Was

The year is 1486.

The French pirates yet again attempt to raid the small town of Eardun. The villagers, fearful of yet another year of enough to feed themselves, hide themselves beneath the thatched roofs hoping for the best.

Not her though. Like any other hero, she rises, she bangs on doors, she rallies the men, the women and the children to fight, fight against the injustice from the sea. And she succeeds- succeeds in winning against those darned pirates.

And yet, just a phrase spread word by word, in gossip and in ruins, turns the whole village against her.

When a woman thinks alone, she thinks evil, after all.

She is sentenced to death, to be burned alive at stake under the first rays of the sun. But she escapes, saved by death itself.

Thus begins her life of run… and of love.

Of a forbidden love between the warm and the cold, between the human and the ghost, between the living and the dead.
