- wolfsmithRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm really enjoying this story. Takes some tropes and has fun with it while doing good world and lore building. Everytime a new character is introduced I like them but what I like more is Vincent slowly convincing them that while the cursed bones of a lich king is 99% evil that doesn't mean it technically can't be used for good.
Looking forward to how the world at large responds to Vincent. This story could go in any direction and it'll stay great.
Read it and laugh! - ArochonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I expected really nothing ... But WOOOWWW!! It is really funny and Well written, got a good flow and i Loving every second of it right now.
Gonna read the other chapters here and buy the book asap! Just for the collection (If the author can hold the quality shown so gar).
Give it a try, you can Just win Here! - CaelinRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I lack the knowledge and skill to comment on the use of language used, however I throughly enjoyed the story, characters, and the humor. It reminded me of David Eddings "Pawn of Prophecy", and thus I wish to read more by this author.
I loved the part about the two brothers and the sausage :) - GruzenbergRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a hilarious litRPG book. The basic premise is of a guy who is transported and becomes a vampire. Because he only eats evil people he stays neutral and does not become evil. He becomes much more powerful as a vampire, sleeps for 10 years and when he wakes up meets his son who has become a hero. The banter is excellent.
Te style is quite fast paced, focusing on the story. At this point there are no character sheets (though they would be a good thing IMHO). There are stats and levels and classes and skills.
When I read it (6/3/23) there were no gramattical issues in the early chapters but a few in the later ones (as the book has only been out a few days not many readers had got to the end). The author explicitly invites comments prior to the book being sent for audio.
The story is very strong and a sequel is indicated. There are a lot of loose threads to be tidied up.
There are a number of strong characters and a couple of boring ones who are largely ignored. The strong characters are well drawn and are lots of fun.
I really recommend this book. It is also great to have a complete book posted on RR rather than to have to wait for weeks for the next episode.
One point - the title and summary put me off a little. Delayed my reading by a whole day! You need to stress how fun this is! - Jeremy001Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Good story overall, minor grammar stuff here and there maybe, but really good overall. Cool bits of wholesome spread throughout. Made me laugh, and made me smile even when it was bittersweet. Vincent is written in a very believable way I think, even being one of those "low emotion, high logic" characters. Overall makes me feel like I'm reading a 100% accurrate retelling of an old legend.
Might just have to steal Vincent and his school for a TTRPG setting piece... - KarrakazRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Not to beat around the bush: Just shy of being a masterpiece, I would rate this as one of my very favorite stories on RR.
The story:
Without spoiling anything important, the story is about a father. The magic, the classes, the world, all are interesting and (mostly) not your standard tropish fare, nor are the sequence of events we get to witness. At the heart of though, it is about the lengths a father will go to for his family when faced with the worst circumstances possible. *insert chefs kiss here* In a word: Brilliant.
The grammar: Not much to say. Good. Great even. The mistakes I did spot were few, far between, and already had comments with the fixes so I reckon they'll not live on for long.
The character- and style score, and my reasoning for them:
Pacing is important in any story, and most stories fall on the side of going too slowly; getting bogged down in exposition or building out a world or character at the expense of the pacing. Personally, I don't mind such things, which is something for the reader of this review to keep in mind when I say the following:
This story is very good in its first person style delivery, and contains some genuinely funny moments. It does, however, lose points on:
-Conversations: While not bad, per se, they are at times long enough without any motion or other indication to become confusing as to which character is speaking, and loses a bit of character development as well.
-Chekov: Many of the problems, solutions, and plans our main character has, we as readers learn about the moment he puts them into action, rather than putting the setup for such things in the scenes where he learns them
See the double secret rooms in the royal library as the example that most readily springs to mind
-Character development generally: Many a scene that could help build up the characters is glanced over or outright ignored.
On the whole we are left with a snappily paced story that is a joy to read. It is almost certainly book 1 in a series and I, - KhanalasRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A pleasant carnival of a story. Emotionality is minimal, whether because of the Author's style or because of the main character's muted feelings. You are led from scene to scene as you enjoy the sights. Author's craft and composition ensure that you won't get bored from such a non-standard way to connect to the reader.
- VaylenismeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0After I listened to the Audio Book for the first time, I had to read the book, and then listened to the audio book agian.
It is the best mix of Cultural Humor and Situational Humor that makes this a fantastic series.
The Main Character Vincent has a fascinating outlook on his situation and ends up making every situation that much funnier - biggiraffe60Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0A humorous and interesting novel. One of the best I've read. I recommend this, as it has good grammar, reads well, and has good plot.

Benjamin Kerei lives up to his past works with another interesting and engaging story. He lives up to his pedigree of past work and continues to produce good work. I am looking forward to the next work he puts out.
