Only 9 chapters in and this already feels like the start of something huge.
The choreography during the fights is honestly impressive. It’s clear, brutal, and doesn’t waste time with none sense . Every movement has weight behind it, and the action actually feels like life or death, which fits the tone perfectly. You can tell the author put thought into how the MC would fight based on his current form and mindset.
Speaking of the MC, Zareth is a refreshing take on the evolving monster trope. He starts out instinctual, but the gradual shift in intelligence is handled really well. It’s not some instant enlightenment, it builds naturally, yet quickly too. You can literally see the spark of thought forming with each kill, each decision. It makes the progression feel earned.
The writing quality is consistently strong across all 9 chapters. The descriptions do a great job setting the atmosphere without dragging the pace. You get vivid visuals of the environment, the tension in a scene, or the grotesque anatomy of enemies without it ever feeling like it’s too much. Plus, there are a ton of little lore hints sprinkled in that seem like they could evolve into really cool side arcs later.
Definitely one to read if you're into intelligent evolution, dark settings, litrpg, systems, and tight storytelling. Feels like it’s only just getting started.
