We got it all mixed together now. Fantasy, monsters, quests, boxes, good action scenes, we are hitting every single nail on it's head. And it feels wonderful. It's a medieval apocalypse and yet the MC stays pretty cheerful, which brings a delightful feeling through it. The main driving goal is revenge/justice and it really gives you that warm feeling of "Yessss". Highly recommend reading it, if for nothing else, the actions scenes alone.

Storm of Outlaws [Medieval System Apocalypse] is an action-adventure redemption fantasy litRPG novel written by author DreamTickler. It ticks all the classic litRPG boxes you'd hope it would. We follow the protagonist Roy and his troop of friends and associates, who, right the start, the author wastes no time in murdering – as all good authors do. This is truly the nature of the beast.
I found no noticeable issues with either spelling or grammar. The author responds gracefully to any issues pointed out in the comments, which is always great. The wording has a good flow and the prose is solid.
The world-building and fantasy setting work, and the characters have a good rapport with one another. As one would hope from a litRPG, there are numbers, and they go up as is the ideal. I have enjoyed what I read so far and will continue on from here.
There are quite a significant number of chapters to read, so there is a lot to sink one’s teeth into if you’re hungry for some words. The story makes for an enjoyable read and if you're looking for a new story to start, then you should definitely give this one a fair shot! =)

    Style:
The action is very exciting and frequent, reminds me of an anime and the best way I can describe the experience is like having an anime battle play out in your head as you read those action scenes.
I really enjoy the author’s positive outlook on humanity in an apocalypse such as this. Most stories I’ve read showcase the dark side of humanity with backstabbing, betrayal, humans turning against one another and selfishly sacrificing others to survive. In this story Roy and the gang help others and come together to try to survive in this hostile new world instead of fighting each other.
I think the young protagonist group helps with this theme and fits it well. The darker, solo adult stepping on everyone to reach the pinnacle is now the mainstream and this subverts those expectations with a group of moralistic young men seeking to make the world a better place instead of just surviving in spite of it and bending to its twisted new natural order.
I enjoy the author’s use of editing to continually improve the story and bring it up to the level their current writing is at. Usually once a chapter is submitted it is left as is as if it was a paper book that has been published, DreamTickler doesn’t fail to take advantage of the unique features of a web novel and elevates their older chapters to the level of newer ones by doing so. Sometimes they even alter mechanics that they think didn’t work well
Even when it requires rewriting 50+ chapters, which is what happened with the awakening system’s switch from goblin->initiate system
To ensure the new reader experience is as ideal as possible.
We have a group of protagonists with a main protagonist (Roy). The group dynamic makes the world feel like a challenge to face together rather than an unbearable horror, seeing the activities of the different characters from their perspective gives deep characters rather than a solo protagonist who is well developed but in a world of mob characters (a common trope I’ve seen).

This story is so good I could read it so many times without getting bored. I don't want to spoil the story for anybody reading this comment / review so go read it yourself. The only thing I can tell you is that this author is good at writing this type of stories. You'd know if you read his other stories.

Storm of Outlaws, is a very promising novel with a good premise that starts with a failed execution of MC (Roy), is quite a fun way to start, huh? It has been worthing wide reading for me and I would recommend everyone try if you find the narrative of banter of young children marching out on an apocalypse world.
Story score: The writing isn't too descriptive for my taste so a plus for me who like a story that keeps its narrative easily comprehend. There are some scenes where their perspective of which character is talking.
I am looking at you, Lorenz. The young boy...sigh there are like at least three in the room, pick your poison.
This is a common occurrence when writing a story in which many characters share a common description so I will give the story a score of 4/5.
Grammar score: It's well written enough for me not to find any difficulty in reading so 5/5.
Character score: Why not story score first? Because the character is easier to dissect than the story flaws. So the characters have slowed starts there are very few distinctions between them but trust me when I say that the story's character development will be worth the wait. It starts very later for them to know their lack of experience in battle will be their downfall of them as they start to take a more logical approach by learning from the more experienced figures rather than acting as small little demi-gods in the new world. It's 4.5/5 for me
Story score:  The plot as the character's motivation is getting stronger, to live rather than survive and the world's system is applauding that but
Somehow it comes as strange to me as the strong stats that only thee main cast share (except for Lorenz) are mana and agility. Why? Does it have a reason for this distinction and they are quite high...but after the system update, I hope the author rebalance them enough. And for the knight's fighting problem in chapter 10 or 11, I mean they have been trained for long than a bunch of children so why they quiver so easily

Storm of Outlaws is a Medieval LitRPG Apocalypse following a band of young kids as they try to survive and take revenge against those who falsely accused them of heinous crimes. The premise is pretty simple and not unlike many stories in the same genre, but there are standout-ish moments and elements that make this story worth reading in my opinion. Of course, I think it has its fair share of issues as well, so as usual I’ll do my best to address all the good and bad below-
Style score: My main issue with the style is inconsistency. There’s head-hopping in chapter one (between MC and girl), and then in chapter 4 where the POV doesn’t seem to be anchored to anyone in particular. This happens a few more times across the rest of the chapters, and it’s a bit confusing to read. The lack of dialogue tags in certain scenes also make it difficult to tell who’s speaking, especially since the story follows such a large cast of characters (e.g. Alfonse is speaking in a particular scene in chapter 8, but it took me a while to figure out who it was supposed to be) and the writing doesn’t make it easy to intuit who’s talking to who at times. Finally, the writing quality seems to change every few chapters or so, where in one chapter the writing tries to evoke strong senses and emotions during intense action scenes, but then in another chapter the writing becomes strangely matter-of-fact with little attempts to evoke anything in the reader – I found these inconsistencies rather jarring to read, and they’ve taken me out of the story more than a few times.
On the flipside, I do like that the writing isn’t overly descriptive for a story like this, since there’s a lot of action and action generally doesn’t work well with long, drawn-out sentences. Overall, the author also tries to show emotions most of the time instead of telling, which helps with anchoring the reader to the characters who will be serving as the lens through which we view the story. Despite all its technical hijinks wi

This story suffers from jilted writing, it's brusq and the prose is uninteresting. Additionally, the characters display almost no consistency or appropriate emotions to their situation. Basically the story lacks very vital depth. The author appears distant and completely disconnected from his characters or the emotions he's futilely attempting to describe, which makes the first 7 chapters painfully jilted and disconnected.
Minor spoilers for the earliest chapters.
The intro or prologue of the story involves a standard goblin raid on the village. The MC and gang find out gobbos are killing are of their dearly loved friends and sort of 'communal family' in the village, so they go about killing some Gobbos.
Then they save some villagers, yay! They decide to stand around talking.
Then they go LVL UP. Yay! Then they stand around talking.
Then they find they were to late to save dear old 'uncle'. (No, Really?!?) Boo! rescue the children. Yay!
State repeatedly how important it is to save the villagers...
    Stand around talking.
Run around showing off their new powa's.
    Talk some more.
Just... really disatisfying to read. The author tells me the MC loves these people, but he doesn't act like it. Characters emotions flip-flop wildly and unreasonably purely based on whatever immediate stimuli the author decides to provide them.
Traumatized kid? Give him a pep talk and have him shank a corpse. Problem immediately solved.
I feel I've made my point.

The idea is good in the hands of a really good writer this would be amazing.
In the middle of a apocalipse the guy ask them to take a shower wtfff, i let it pass but more and more nonsense keep happening.
Way to much characters ate the same time book barely started and they have dozen characters, its to much to confusing.
Unfortunately, i wont be avle to keep reading it.
I gave 3 star because the idea is really good.

3 stars becouse I feel anything lower is really damaging to the story's growth and should be reserved for the irredeemable ones (or those that make you wanna face palm every second paragraph and disparage MC's intelligence).
I really liked the fighting scenes - fast and clever, without much dilly-dallying as many stories are prone to do. If you monster fighting stories then I would give this one a shot.
That said I can't continue this story. For me the biggest problem is the lack of connection with Roy. He's the main character, but I don't really know that much about him - just that he was somehow involved in murder and wants to save his ragtag group of friends (and a few of the villagers). I feel like the begging of the story should establish his character, goals and get us some more hints/foreshadowing about that murder mystery. It all feels a bit rushed and a little bit generic (maybe because I wasn't at any point surprised by anything that MC did - the only thing that I didn't expect was
that knight from the beginning being nice/regretful about the whole "burn the sinner" thing and the part where the Davids? are dead and their kids are taken by the neighbors - not MC's children-gang).
    ).
Aside from my lack of care towards the fate of MC I also found it a bit confusing to keep the track of which boy am I reading about. Roy/Robb especially got mixed up because of similar sounding names. I also feel like all of the boys are pretty similar character-wise and in how they formulate their thoughts. Maybe one of them could have an accent/be mute, or maybe substitute one of them for a girl, or one of them could be younger/smaller/sicklier/more scared up/different race or nationality/related to each other. It's a bit of a cheap trick, but it can be built upon, and it's great for differentiating characters (especially in the beginning where a lot of characters are introduced simultaneously).
It's actually well done with Jamie as I actually remember him as weaker physically
