Description
At 79, Adom is an old mage who has known nothing but illness and regret. When the world finally burns and all hope turns to ash, at the last beat of his fading heart, a mysterious being appears in the dimming light with a simple question: "If you could try again, would you?" What's left to lose when you've already lost everything? A handshake seals the deal, and Adom wakes up on his old school grounds, sixty-seven years in the past. When everything is still possible. A second chance with all his knowledge intact, his memories preserved, and his youth restored. This time, Adom wants it all: to feast on food he's never had, to travel a world still full of wonder, to finally live the life he dreamed of. There's just, as always, one small catch—he needs to prevent the end of the world first. But as Adom will soon discover, changing history might demand sacrifices even greater than watching it burn... What to expect: This is a slow burn. And it's hopefully going to be a very, verylong story. I wanted a character driven fantasy, with action, comedy, and a lot of heart in it. Everything has been carefully considered to create a coherent world with a magic system that makes sense. Our protagonist is not OP (yet) but is not a pushover either, just a former researcher mage forced to become something else entirely to prevent his world's end and discovering that things were not entirely the way he thought. This is his journey, told step by step, with all the struggles and triumphs that entails. Release Schedule: M-W-F Chapter length: Anything from 2.5k to 15k

- Face of the KingRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0hello everyone. i just finished and reached ch11 and this was a great book. definitely should get to rising stars and it was amazing.now the character is really good the scene setting was amazing i loved the not too fast not slow pace of the story and it was one of those stories that makes you chuckle a lot when reading. it is not all black and white and the MC is very smart and has a functioning brain and a straight spine not a cowardly mice.there are a lot of twist you see early on in the novel expectations that you see not fulfilled which is good otherwise you can imagine the story and enjoy it yourself it is the surprises and twists and new stuff that really gets you . also i read author's notes and it seems that he plans to have a lot of future events foreshadowed and leaves clues and hints from the start.the grammar is perfect word choices suit the situation and lovely sentences . style is good the comedy takes a back sit and i believe making comedy third tag was a bit too much might have been better to place progression there instead. characters are very colorful more like Disney characters and cartoon ones mixed with anime with some darkness and a bit of hope in there so yeah ... story itself is a bit not finished yet so i can not give a complete review about it but it seems to progress good and the goals are at least something acceptable i would hate a time traveler that is a hopeless hero with complex but someone changing the world just to just live their life is acceptable and reasonable and rational .well i am happy to tell you that the Author is very responsive and reader interactive meaning he definitely read my review so i am happy. i removed the last part of the review as it no longer applies, also i can say that this novel is very intriguing and interesting so i hope you all come along and read it so it reaches rising star and i can get more chapter releases. .. . please??!!!! the wait for more chapters is killing me!
- BardkinRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I came in expecting a fun but typical rebirth story with an OP MC and all the tropes. And that’s what I got, but what surprised me was the quality of the writing, the depth of the world building, and the way that the author makes you feel like the MC has earned their power. It also helps that the MC isn’t actually OP, just capable. He still encounters situations that are too much for him to murder hobo his was through and he had to outsmart. Even if events that I found to be too easy or serendipitous pay off later. I came in with mild expectations and am finding myself raising those expectations with each chapter. I’d highly recommend giving this one a try.
- DreadstoneRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Fantastic story so far! Really enjoying the magical and fantastical elements that flesh out this world. Feels very much like a living, breathing world.Characters so far are really well-written. MC is a good balance of experienced regressor in a young man's body. The story jumps right in. So I really like the pacing.Really excited to see where this goes and how the old mage manages to resolve some of the smaller and bigger issues facing his world's future.
- AriastesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Regressor are really not my normal cup of tea but his does an amazing job of hooking you into a world of intense curiosity.I'm really enjoying the novel so far and want to find out exactly where it it going to go. Brilliant work. 5 stars. I want to know more about Mr Biggins!
- D3L3Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great world building, story telling and plot, would recommend to anyone who is a fan of lore heavy story’s with magic in them. I am a huge fan of unique magic systems and while there can be some moments that feel like deus ex machina the author does their best to explain them later on. Also their use of real-world languages to humanize other groups as well as hint at future plot lines is really fun! Keep at it Owl!
- Damon SalvatoreRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have read so many novels and so many books(series) within the same novel that you eventually get bored. This feels like a breath of fresh air, it's unique enough to feel refreshing and engaging enough to keep me going. While some interactions are not as good and can feel a bit stretched others are very well done.Overall the story is entertaining and different at the crucial junctures from most stuff out their which adds to the experience. This is a must read here on Royal Road.
- Dartz 007Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Still the early days for this story, but is is a really enjoyable read so far. It is a regression done right. The characters feel real, there is actual tension in plot points, the world-building is great and gradual and you feel absorbed in the story while reading. Would highly recommend giving this story a shot; you will thank me later.
- BattalionRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I REALLY wasn't expecting to like this. I'm a good way into the series and the one thing that has stood out to me is that the MC is actually a genuine, decent, loving human being. The author prefaced the story saying he dislikes harems (LOVE) and throughout the intro we get to learn that our MC is a guy who really cares about his friends (even if they're male, so many authors are afraid of writing a male MC who can be seen as 'emotional' cause that's too 'gay') and treats women with respect. This really shouldn't be my litmus for how good a series is but nonetheless this series PASSES.
- Drake_EURoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Grammar:Mostly good, only minor errors exist here or there.Character:The MC Adom is pretty well fleshed out, his motivation illuminated while we follow the story. The Side characters (his friends and his possible love interest) could be better explored, maybe during a chapter with a different point of view.Style:The Story is mostly traditional magic based fantasy with different races, though there are some light litRpg elements. It is a typical regression story that begins with the death of the MC. It continues to follow in a magic school environment, that has that typical British boarding school feeling, maybe a little bit in honor of Harry Potter. Though the Magic System is very dissimilar. It‘s a magic system that’s based on runes and circles. Though even if the MC is a Regressor he‘s not allknowing.Story:As mentioned previously, Regression, magic Academy, but not exclusively. This first book has much worldbuilding, that let’s us imagine some of the vibrant, magical city and other regions that he lives in respectively visits. It is the basis of (probably and hopefully) several more books.Overall:It is a very interesting and entertaining story that will - after some polishing - stand equal with for example Mother of Learning. And I enjoyed reading it very much!
- FiedemsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Yhis is a well written and engaging story. Im always very happy when I see another chapter is available. It has a good balance between personal improvement and making the world a better place. I'm looking forward to seeing where the author takes us and hopes they'll continue for a very long time.
