Aura Farming (Apocalypse LitRPG) [BOOK TWO COMPLETE]

Description
When demon-spewing portals plunge the world into chaos, John Woods is granted the worst possible ability for a socially anxious loner: in order to gain the power he needs to survive, he must make people think he's cool. It was, admittedly, an abnormal day for John. Leaving his house without being forced into it by circumstances or family was a rare occurrence, but it was a nice day in London, and he fancied a burger. Unfortunately, the end of the world came before he could take a single bite. Things got even stranger when text started appearing in the corner of his vision and information began shoving its way into his head. It didn't take him long to figure out what was happening, though. When he did something cool, he gained Aura points. When he acted lame, he lost them. Fighting monsters was cool. Running away screaming and crying is lame. Unfortunately, he's going to need a lot of those Aura points if he wants to spend them on the superpowers thatmightlet him survive the apocalypse. Guess it's time to go fight monsters. ~~~ Expect a LitRPG Apocalypse with some dark humour, and quite a bit of straight up darkness. As meme-y as this premise and title may sound, it's not actually going to be full of TikTok brain rot. MC won't immediately figure out how to be the hypest aura farmer since Sung Jin-Woo. It'll take some time for him to be doingreallyawesome shit, but he'll get there. MC will get strong fairly quickly, but going from strong to God will be a longer process.

- Dudeman10Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0When I first read this story I thought it would be just what the title said "Aura farming in the apocalypse". However it turned out to be so much more.
The every character in the story has complex psychological depth to each and every action they do with the systems they have influencing everything.(Spoilers ahead so don't click unless you are prepared)
Each system gives points to everyone, however they have to do the thing they hate most.
The surrounding cast of characters for the MC each have their own problems to deal with however how they work together and overcome their problems is very interesting.
This story as a whole also has an overarching plot regarding the apocalypse itself with multiple theories coming and going in the characters minds.
I truly recommend this book for those who like reading stories with characters whose minds have great depth, as well as those who like cool system novels and fighting. - SoftRain_sleepyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0wonderful trashy-ness!
Every time I read him (MC) try to talked to other characters I lose a couple more brain cells.
and I'm okay with that!
If you're looking for something to turn your brain off and just enjoy, def read this.
The MC is decently reatable, the monsters are defined and power progression is clear. - StoutedRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I love the pacing in this one - a really granular look at the first week of the Apocalypse. I'm looking forward to what happens if/when things pick up even more, but the snowball build is exactly the kind of thing I enjoy.
And the keyfabe torture system is as genuinely heartwrenching as it is horribly funny. Fan of John, fan of everyone else that's not as cool as John, and I think the author actually handles the balance between monster fights and emotional check-ins really well. - TypestuffRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Unique concept, reminds me of the other novel gold digger which she gains power from readers thinking she’s powerful. I enjoyed that book so I’m really enjoying this one I think the concept of “Aura farming” is very cool. Grammar is good, plot is decent. Overall not complete slop which is good
- WhimsicalDreamerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It was such a fun read! The powers and system in the story really made me wonder what kind of ability I’d have if I were part of that world. It got me reflecting, thinking about what kind of power would give me strength through things that would also test or even torture me. I really had a great time reading this. Wishing you all the best, good health, inspiration, and many more amazing stories to come!
- Jared29CantReadRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I love brainrot content more than most, but this rises above most because I don't have to feel shame for experiencing this story. I can let John, the MC, do it for me.
The other reviews will do a good job of giving you a taste of what you're in for. I just spent the last 3 hours binging the story in one go, so I hope you'll enjoy it too - RabarbarRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's good, as good as potatoes. It's nice and I don't think it's rushed or too slow, can't really judge the story because we have only seen a small part of it. The characters are not bad, but we haven't seen more backstory but it will probably be revealed in later chapters.
Overall it's worthy of the Potate because potatoes are very good - RenGoesReadongRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0If you love the aura farming memes and daddy sung jin woo, then you will enjoy this story! I also love the concept of growing stronger based on how cool you look and I am excited to see how the mc progressed in the future and how is aura farming works in relation to other humans.
- OverGoatRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5What happens when you take a complete, socially awkward dude who hates being the center of attention and is damn near incapable of talking to people, and you are forced by a system to be an edgy protagonist with corny one-liners, making you stronger? Hilarious suffering is the answer, well, that is, until things get dire, but he is still forced to pretend he is above it all. Trust me, this is a good read, and so you should read it. It only has a few minor grammar mistakes and misspellings.
- Luniz420Royal Road★★★★ 4.0*Better than expected
Just like anybody over the age of 14, I read the premise and thought that it could be a cringe filled rip off, copying "cool" scenes or powers from every anime in existence until your incompetent but overconfident MC is killing mustache twirling villains in his sleep.
However it's not that at all. While there are some things that many authors handle poorly (like an inconsistent system), it's clear the author has some kind of plan and isn't focused on cramming as many references or lame jokes into every paragraph and "fixing" all the plot holes or inconsistencies later.
It's too early to really say much about the plot or world building, but the MC is at least believable as an actual person and the side characters have actual thoughts and motivations outside of the MC. We do spend a lot of time in the MC's head but the author does a good job of keeping it relevant to the action around him, rather than exploring every inane thought a person might have.
It's nice to see an "overpowered" class have actual limits/restrictions that the MC has to deal with. It's also more believable that this particular apocalypse doesn't seem like it was set up specifically to make things easy for the MC.
