- RSK94Royal Road★★★ 2.5The story is too angsty and sounds like a suffrage porn something that a lot of Anti-hero or Villainous Naruto stories suffer from. It's prequel was good because it was edgy, MC was OP and pure evil whereas the Naruto here can't even stomach the sight of battlefield even though he's been a shinobi for many years.
He didn't earn a promotion despite being a genin for so many years despite the war time? Are we hoping that a mere genin will bring down an eldritch creature that makes Itachi look like Canon Sasuke or somehow save Konoha when the walls are closing in on all corners?
While Naruto is enraged at Sasuke for causing so many innocent to suffer, endangering his and his friends' lives, can he truly be okay with the actions of Konoha that's also leading to the deaths of innocents? Because if he wants to take down Sasuke for all his crimes, he'd have to direct the spotlights onto shinobi villages as well once he's done with him.
It's assuming that he even wants to kill Sasuke in the first place. The fact that he talks about bringing him to justice as opposed to neutralizing him makes me wonder if he has delusions about reforming him. It's certainly frustrating to read Naruto fics where he considers anyone who didn't mistreat him as a friend even Sasuke betrayed him.
Since the prequel featured an MC who's genius could make even Tobirama and Minato blush, it's a tall order to make Naruto powerful enough to take down not just the antagonist but every malicious elements plaguing the world be it the damiyos or the kages or akatsuki or orochimaru, something that I'm skeptical if you could succeed without making all of his powerups look like asspulls.
