Every child in Aeora dreams of being a spirit knight. They’ve grown up hearing stories of the great heroes who keep order and peace across the continent, battling back monsters with their incredible power. Corrin and Wyn are no different. Stuck in a small town in the middle of nowhere, the storybook life of a spirit knight is something they will only ever dream of—an impossibly distant fantasy they’ll grow out of as they get older—until that dream comes to them. After an encounter with a wandering spirit knight, they swear to embark on a journey across the continent to the city of heroes, where they can learn to become knights the likes of which the world has never seen. But they’ve got a whole continent between them and the starting line, and plenty of challenges along the way. The world outside their valley isn’t anything like the stories. Definitely worth a read. The author does a really good job of creating the atmosphere of the story and the different places we visit throughout it while slowly building up the world and lore naturally over time (rather than just slapping you with an info dump at the start). We've seen some really interesting settings on our journey so far and the author did a really good job of bringing each to life and making them feel vibrant and unique.
There are two main characters, Wyn and Corrin, and I feel like one of the main draws of this work is their wholesome friendship. They have a rivalry but it doesn't spoil their relationship and they always have each other's backs. They really feel like best friends and brothers in everything but blood. It can be difficult to balance two main characters, but the author does a pretty good job. I do feel like Wyn often gets more of the spotlight as the "true main character" (at least in most of the arcs so far) in part because he's more of the traditional hero type than Corrin, but Corrin is more of my favorite. I think he really embodies the light-hearted spirit of adventure and brotherhood that drew me to this work in the first place. Hoping to see more of him in the future.
As the story continues there are definitely heavy moments but it's able to balance those with lighter ones and really delivers on the emotional impact when it needs to.
The prose itself is also very solid with the exception of a few typos here and there. I feel like some elements of the arcs can feel a bit repetitive, but nothing to the point that it ruins your experience of the story. It definitely doesn't waste your time and I certainly found it enjoyable.

I've completed the first Arc. The story starts off a little slow but really gets going and I couldn't put it down. Most of the characters are well written and the camaraderie between the two protagonist is is great. They are just starting to figure out the mysteries of the magic system. The combat scenes are well written and exciting.

It is very nicely paced for me, both of the main characters are likeable and three dimensional, the magic system and world building thought and and grand, and the dialogue really brings out emotion. I highly recommend this story to anyone who likes a pair of kickass buddies who are going to go on big and epic adventures together.

There is a lot to like about the story, from the well-executed pacing, to how the wider world and magic system are hinted at before being slowly revealed over many chapters, but to me the characters and their interactions are a clear strong point.
It's clear from the blurb and the first chapter that the two friends will eventually go on a great adventure together, yet when one of them develops doubts and is hesitant to leave his life behind, his reasons and the cause are sympathetic, to the point that if the script turned on its head it would be understandable.
