Description

Who needs spells when you have relics? For thousands of years, magic has been obtained through trades with the gods. Sacrifice magic materials upon their sacred altars, and the gods will offer magic relics in return. But the world of magic and powerful relics has always been far out of reach for Dain, a simple trinket merchant, until masked cultists tried to sacrifice him to the gods. Vowing revenge, he decides to commit the ultimate taboo: make his own altar so he can obtain the power to hunt the cultists down. Only, he accidentally creates an altar for a god who shouldn’t exist, and this god is a little different: it will only trade him cursed relics. Dain will scour the world, hunt the magic beasts in his books, and barter their remains for greater and darker relics. His enemies and their ancient plots of calamity run deep. He’ll have to go even deeper to find them. What to expect: - LitRPG with gear-based progression - Bartering magic relics with otherworldly gods - Ancient schemes, vast worldbuilding, and epic battles - No harem Update Schedule: Mon-Wed-Fri

What readers say about Cursed Relic Collector

  • Loving this so far. Can't wait to see where it goes and what kind of artifacts they make. Interesting use of the magic system and loot mechanics. Feels very different from other litrpg and progression stories I've read in the past. It's nice to be surprised…

  • So far, the MC isn't too OP, lecherous, or too arrogant: they have a very nice power build with fun celestial interactions (debts? curses?). The world building has fun, equipment based powers - magic and mechanical based - and he's always living on the edge…

So far, the MC isn't too OP, lecherous, or too arrogant: they have a very nice power build with fun celestial interactions (debts? curses?). The world building has fun, equipment based powers - magic and mechanical based - and he's always living on the edge of death, but not in a way that makes me anxious. Its well written. Give it a shot!

So. This one was surprisingly good. Kinda didn’t know what to expect going into it, but it Turing out great. What I liked best is that the magic system the author created has a truly unique element to it that I’ve not really seen in any other book. And furthermore, that unique element actually works and is believable given the world the author has built. Characters are decent too. Read it.

Fantastic Read! Can't wait to see where this goes, because the first 20 chapters totally earned 3 sequel's and a stand alone movie.
Characters and dialogue are fantastic and hilariously witty.
World building is top notch and really gonna shine with possibilities and potential.
Plot is shaping up fast, with good pacing and well interspersed lore dumps. Can't wait to see what our MC looks like, hint hint, and Collects be the time we get to the first boss fight!

It’s guuuuuud.  What sold me is the unique system.  I’m not sure I’ve read any litrpgs where the mechanics are centered around the gear.  But it’s entertaining.  It gives it a feeling of randomness and chance whenever the MC acquires something.  Throw in a dash of world building and a god with questionable motives and origins, and there you have it.

Great read so far. The story itself is well written and balanced and the setting has a lot of potential for future development. I am reluctant to add more stories to my list of active follows, but this one is worth it and I will keep following to see how it develops.

As per usual, Maradina gives us a story with a novel and intriguing magic system, relatable, sensible, and flushed-out characters. I expected a good story, but I got an incredible one. In only 24 chapters, I'm on the edge of my seat and devouring every word. I cannot wait to see where this story leads.
If you are a fan of... well anything, but especially well written, entertaining, and downright awesome storytelling and worldbuilding, read Cursed Relic Collector, and all of Maradina's other stories while you're at it.
And Maradina? Keep up the good work. I can't wait for the end.

the premise is a interesting spin on the ltrpg genre. not reliant on an omnipresent system, but rather the creativity of offerings and recipes, of course the protagonist has their unique advantage, but the author have given themselves a fun way to prevent too much power creep if they are so inclined,
very interested in seeing where they go

The pacing of this story is immaculate.
There is no exposition that felt wasteful or filler. The premise in the blurb is so masterfully laid out. There is a Dark theme that shows mostly via the cursed relics. I won’t speak much details. But it was unexpected.
There is loss, consequences and a fantasy   world and story, that I can’t wait to read more of.

This book was worth my time and I've enjoyed everything I've read so far so please keep working hard author cuz u got yourself a master piece. I feel like he is still a bit too trusting with him giving out a cursed relic while he is still so weak but I'll let you cook.
