Description
All Darian ever wanted to do was help people—But then he died. His cancer robbed him of everything. Friends, adventure, and now even his life. But as he breathes his last breath, his wish for a stronger body is answered. Darian is reborn and remade—transported in death to a world of magic, monsters, and gods. Waking alone in a haunted forest, he quickly finds himself in the middle of a war between the living and the dead. Fighting to retain his slipping humanity, Darian must battle the undead hordes if he hopes to survive. But his new body thirsts, and he soon realizes his wish wasn't granted without a price. And lurking in the darkness are forces that would use Darian, for he is on a path to divine power, even if he doesn’t know it yet. What to expect: No overpowered start (MC is NOT weak, just not OP). MC that struggles with his new life as a vampire. Group battles and a small bit of party building. Lots of action Schedule:Currently a slow upload schedule of 1 to 2 chapters a week until May. Chapter length: 1500-2500 words.

Typical LitRPG tropes are here, but they are employed in original and meaningful ways. The protagonist Darian is a tragic victim of circumstance and the author does a good job of making him sympathetic from the start. The descriptive prose is well done with varying sentence lengths, paragraphs, etc. to make it an easy read.
Story;
So far well-paced. There is enough mystery through the first opening chapters to keep one intrigued. The MC does not seem to be a Mary Sue or have an OP start as he suffers difficulties and setbacks from the start which makes for a palette cleanser after all the "I am basically a god at lvl.1" stories that abound here on Royal Road. The fact that he had
leukemia
was a very nice part and sets him up well to be a monstrous vampire. As an added bonus, there is some mystery with his status and levelling [something that often overlooked and usually just tacked on] which adds a lot of depth to the narrative.
Grammar:
Grammar is exceptionally done, save for a few mistakes here and there due to understandable human error. Still, the overall reading experience is not unduly impacted by this.
Character:
The main character is well written and realistic, at least as can be in the realms of high fantasy. You will generally root for him. If the author is able to create a supporting cast of the same caliber that would be wonderful. - Baron HARDRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0a good mc vampire story. lively and realistic characters, well-constructed scenario. villains with character. so far I really like it and I'm looking forward to the progression of the narrative. vampire with the power to seduce, if he doesn't have a harem he'll be weak. lol. A last one elf woman and ONU catwoman, ok? 😋😋😋
- DemonsbrainRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A rare gem, the story is really entertaining as we follow a first monster of a kind in a new world, i can't wait when the character get strong. A comment would be nice character progression, the side character wouldn't some dumb and yes man, but have goals and flavor to it to make the world intresting. I can't say much because the chapter is still early, but you will regret it if you don't read it. Cheers to the author, i hope you have a succes with this novel
- ExsanguinateMeVladdyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Honestly i cant fully explain in words just how refreshing it is to see the thirst of a vampire NOT get ignored via "race evolving" or "getting used to it"Dealing with that constant problem is a core aspect of what makes vampires monsterous, as well as sympathetic flawed creatures.I also enjoy the writing in general, the characters feel like people, not background props for the main character, and the system/isekai elements are involved heavily in the mystery of the story.Currently my favorite vampire book for the reasons above!
- John Stax (Fobywoby)Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Right from the start, I knew this was something special. Blue does a great job weaving a story that brings the reader in.I haven't read a dark fantasy in a long while, and this hits the spot without being over the top doom. The isekai setup is done right from the get go. And then we have Darian - a well-written and well-described MC.The writing style here is top notch. It's engaging and keeps you hooked without getting bogged down in unnecessary details. The pacing feels smooth, with a good balance of action and character development. The dialogue is natural, and the descriptions are vivid enough to paint a clear picture without overloading you.As for the grammar, it's solid throughout. There are no overly distracting errors or awkward phrasing, which makes for a smooth reading experience. The sentences flow well, making it easy to get lost in the story. Overall, the style and grammar are spot-on.Though, I am no grammarian. It has a sort of eerie atmosphere. The gradual development and detailed world-building keep you reading.Overall, it is an immersive read that stays true to its dark fantasy roots while offering a fresh take on the genre.
- N_CabalRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have a certain soft spot for vampire stories where they are actually depicted as the monsters they are, and the reconciliation they have to make with the monster inside them.
This story certainly goes in that vein along with a pretty good litRPG system.
Have read only till book one for now and it's a good read with a decent MC and pretty good circumstances of survival story - ThcooksterRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Loving the story so far! It’s so hard to find a decent Vampire novel, but this is way beyond expectations! We are already seeing character development in our MC woop woop!
I am not sure why but I am getting The Witcher and RandidlyGH vibes from the story and system. Just me? - gencon11Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Brilliant first book. A little on the nose with dr mum and scientist dad, I think genuine but ‘common man’ family may of worked a bit better but that’s just me. It doesn’t affect the story at all. And the story is great, love how the evolution of the vampire cliche abilities is worked into the litrpg elements, makes it feel a lot less jarring and emo edgelord than a lot of aurthors can make vampires. It’s hard to keep a vampire a vampire, or monster mc momsterery, and not try and turn them into something else it seems in other books. Love the human element, our paladin isn’t quite as holier than tho as first appears to be, enemies have more life breathed into them. A good story. Waiting for book 2 edits before I start there, I’m hoping it’ll be just as good. Only spotted a couple of grammar mistakes so far. I want to show my support to the writer but I’ve hit the word limit now so going to have to find a way to fill out the rest of the review with something like this just to appease our royal road master overlords watching above.
- longwindedone1Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0This review is based on all of the chapters leading up to Chapter 7. I apologize for any spoilers, but there will likely be some.
Story:
This story follows Darian from the real world into a fantasy world, where he has been put into the body of a minor vampire. He slowly multi classes into a warrior and mage as he discovers the world and his new powers. There aren't any other characters in these first few chapters, except of the character in the prologue who set it all into motion (with a mystical orb).
Style:
This is a true LitRPG/GameLit. If you like gaming and watching a character grow, this is your story. I love the way the author takes his time with the story AND the progression. You get little in the way of dialogue, as there aren't many other people in the first six chapters, but you get a nice third person view of the world, with a fair amount of Darian's internal monologue.
Characters:
Darian is the MC. He was a young guy that had cancer in a former life. That makes him appreciate this new body and power of his blood. We meet the pally in the prologue that set all of this into motion, and I'm wondering if it were him again, in the dream Darian had. There is one other character introduced at the very end of chapter six that I'm thinking is some form of necromancer. I'm also wondering if the two animals that Darian buried early on will come back to life as minions later.
Grammar:
A few minor word choice errors, but very very well written otherwise. You will be able to get into the story and stay in the story.
Overall, I highly recommend this story. I'm looking forward to what multi class the MC takes and to watch his vampire abilities increase. - MaxreadsalotRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0As far as litRPGs go this one is good. At the same time it as generic as it can possible be. I have seen everything a million times already and probably should stop reading litRPGs altogether (the most oversaturated genre around here).
The only problem I have with this novel is power structure: for a world where most people are without system (and must git good in slow "endless trainings" mode) the levels go up way to fast. If it goes like this, by the book two the only realistically challenging opponents would be other aspirants an the gods themself. But of course there gonna be a lot of "level appropriate" opponents and it would (probably) rise way to many questions for my suspension of disbelief to survive.
TLDR: if you like litRPGs you can safely pick this one. It seems I myself don't like the genre anymore.
