Description

As a cynic and an agent, Donovan knows not every book is worth publishing. Erwin Greymire's is one such story. Filled to the brim with trashy wish-fulfilment, anime logic, and impractically dressed nuns. This fantasy 'epic' would never see a printing press. Unless it was written on a magical typewriter that had the power to make that fantasy world real... and Donovan happens to piss off the author enough to get trapped inside. But as he gets entangled in this world— ridiculous as it may be. He comes to care about its inhabitants and rekindles his love of fantasy. Only one problem. He's been cast as the Big Bad. If he ever wants to get out, He'll have to wage war on the very world he's trapped in... and make it a point to die trying. ... !!!Warning!!! This story is filled to the brim with all the trashiest tropes people love to hate, and hate to love. It's got… OP MC Blatant wish fulfillment Harem(s)? Hidden Power levels and Secret Identities Characters that breast boobily Power rankings and dick swinging contests over power rankings Defying the heavens Horny anime nonsense International Politics with too much detail put into faction relations and trade policies Basically If “trashy” fantasy pulp isn’t your thing, this story probably won’t be your jam. But if it is… Then expect to see these tropes through a new lens. Some satire, some deconstruction, but then reconstructed and played straight. It’s still trash, but refurbished and given a spit shine. I hope you enjoy. current release schedule: 1 chapter a week on Monday evenings

This is an unoriginal story. The concept of poking fun at terrible modern fantasy tropes is well known, and The Simulacrum is a story that exists that already has a main character that exists within a fake world that runs on a narrative. The key difference between these stories would be characters, storytelling, and setting.
Donavan, our main character, is a cynical straight man to the ridiculousness that is the fantasy world he finds himself in. He is conflicted in his motivations and the nature of his role in things, but is trying to make the best of what he can. He's written in a pretty solid way, being fairly consistant in personality, but not to the degree that he is a flat character. Those around him are similar, but marred by the unrealisticness that is the world that was made for them.
The story hasn't progressed very far as of this review, but it has high potential for being interesting. Hopefully, the author will keep a semblance of originality and not fall into the tropes.
