Description

Trapped in a game. Seven days to escape. Failure means death.

When Max awakens in the VRMMORPG game Llurien Online, he doesn’t know how he got there or why he can’t logout. And a mysterious Life Counter that no other player has is steadily descending to zero.

The last thing he remembers is playing his axe-shaped guitar on stage. Now he’s alone in a world unknown, where his skills as a bard could help him win friends to survive. But it may already be too late – other players somehow know his identity and want him dead.

Leveling up as fast as he can, Max searches for answers and freedom. But if he can’t have either, he’s determined to find the power to defy death. A quest of his own choosing awaits – to rule over it all and “ascend” to live in the game forever.

This story is pretty fun. At first glance it appears to be yet another Isekai, but in reality it is something else.
Instead of being transported to another world Max is in a coma, and playing a VR game. Kinda reminds me of SAO, where there is a character who plays VR because their body is dying. The days left to live being the days till the plug is pulled was really interesting. It added a sense of urgency that really helped the story out. The legal case going on in the background adds some fun world building elements as well
Watching Max grow and get pushed into situations where he doesn't have a choice but to go along with it and the resulting growth helps the story have a plot that stays relevant, rather than it being survive for a set amount of time. The world of the game seems interesting and has some depths to it. The different deities and the spells that they relate to as well as the classes that seem similar to those of many a game, allowing flavor and difference between the same classes. The status system not needing to say your actual class and name was a nice touch too. Overall, very enjoyable.

Max's journey in the VR game is a thrilling ride filled with detailed descriptions, unique species, and plenty of spells and skills to learn. The story hooks you right from the start, as Max wakes up in a mysterious world with a Life Counter that's counting down from seven days. The author does a great job of building tension as Max navigates the dangerous world, where beasts and enemies lurk around the corners. The inclusion of failures before achievements adds a realistic touch to the story. Overall, a must-read for anyone who loves quests, combat, monsters, XP, and loot.

Classic litrpg that reels you in from the very beginning doesn't come around that often. The author has done an amazing job at setting the scene and bringing us immediately into a story that we want to read. They provide us with all the information we could need to start our journey.
Who doesn't have fun with character and class selection?
Style: I really enjoy the way it is written. The author gives us the details we need and leaves out anything unnecessary. Everything important is in bold and the way the character sheet, spell descriptions, and race outlines are written are intelligent and to the point. There is little clutter to drag the story down.
Story: The world. The World! The author states it, but this is a world they have been building for a long time, and it shows. Each race is fleshed out and unique. They have their own roles in the world, good and evil, lawful or mischievous. Simply from reading the backgrounds of their species, we can infer what is going to happen. Ideas sprout from our heads on our own, and we are immersed in a world completely unlike our own. It holds all the staples you love from tabletop games, gamelit, video games, and more.
Grammar: Excellently edited. I've seen comments regarding errors, and it seems the author has taken the time to make it perfect because I don't think I've run into any hiccups whatsoever.
Character: Our MC is established in the first chapter. His motivation, who he is, what he cares about, how he interacts with other characters, and how he holds up in an encounter. We know everything we need to know to start on our journey and aren't bogged down by fluff or extra details.
Overall: I love this, and I've barely begun reading. It is so rare I get the chance to read something crafted with care and affection that has been honed with professionalism. This is the beginning of a perfect litrpg that will surely go places. I'm glad I'm here for it and am eager to see where it goes.

Death singer is a classic LITRPG. A guy who likes music got punched really hard, and is inserted into a LITRPG world.
Max is a compelling character, and I could tell that the author really put time into making the system. All classes have interesting descriptions, and things made sense. With so many broken LITRPGS around there, it's refreshing to see a real planned one.
Overall, it is a delightful story that will not leave LITRPG fans disappointed. I look forward to see Max grow, both as a person and as the LITPRG protagonist. The music knowledge that the author clearly has is a pleasant addition to the story, making max build interesting and different from others works on the genre.

The potential for this world and the main character, Max, excites me.  I have been craving a good bard story that isn't the stereotypical charm and screw cliche.
The story is well written, world building and setting is nice, and the dialog isn't wooden or forced.  The magic and skills fit well, and the litrpg data isn't overwhelming.
    Keep it up!

Ascension Quest begins as Max is abruptly sent to the illustrious world of Llurien, with little information besides the facts the game allows him. Constant intrigue follows his every move, leaving the reader to wonder what's next each chapter. The world is a layered one, from the magic system to the varied races.
Style (4/5 Stars) - The style is straight to the point, giving you the details as it is. It does not leave you confused on what you read, and the flow from paragraph to paragraph is seamless. I will say that it's a little lacking in variety or character, but it hardly retracts from the story.
Character (4.5/5 Stars) - While I haven't seen many characters as of Chapter 12, I've been given a tangible sense of the personas to each race. The first couple of chapters focus on the traits allotted to certain beings, and that carries on into the story.
Grammer (4.5/ 5 Stars) - There were a few typos here and there, most which were very understandable (mail instead of male, swam instead of swarm.) Once readers quickly point it out,  the author does not waste time in fixing them.
Story (5/5 Stars) - Death Singer has a lot going for it. From the vast set of races, to the gods that have been hinted at, to the system of the world, and even the Valenders---there's just so much to dive into. The chapter size makes it easy to digest, leaving you wanting to click that Next Chapter button every time.
Every single time! You won't regret reading this one, so go ahead and start!

A little slow to start. I am not a fan of long descriptions and lots of game screens, and this had them, especially in the first part of the book. But the story was good. It kept me reading all day long.
I liked the main character. He wasn't one of those overpowered, ego driven fantasy types. The writing is good, quite a few typos, but I am sure the author will clear them up, eventually. The world-building was good. Overall, a good read.

Long story short, I enjoyed the story. A misunderstood guitarist for being arrogant, typical litrpg but still unique enough, amazing progression, believable opponents, it pushes all the right buttons to make it an amazing read.
    Short story long.....
Always love a good novel with magic singing powers. Although not much has been seen related to singing except for the fact that he was a guitarist and some spells that he doesn't use, I expect things to change soon.
The opponents aren't just there to act as a stepping stones. While they are stepping stones, the author manages to make the opponents their own character. The only problem I have with this novel is the lack of actual use of his class. But I think that author will probably give us much more than this.
It is still in the early phase and the story has just begun but so far I've been loving the novel. There's also this sense of mystery as to why he is where he is. I just hope the author doesn't mess up and gives us what we need.
I definitely recommend people to try out the novel. Not a waste of time, enjoyable to read and big enough potential to look forward to new chapters.
