Currently, being rewrittenhere.
An old soul starts yet another journey. This time, though, it’s far away from home.
He’s been around pretty much since forever. Literally.
He had thought the cycle would last until the end of times. It didn’t.
Now, he must face a new world he knows nothing of, which isn’t quite new. Fortunately, there seems to be magic. Unfortunately, despite being strangely familiar, the System’s unbearable.
Please mind the tags! The story's properly slice of life-ish!
The main character is no amoral monster, but he definitely leans closer to chaotic-neutral rather than good, i.e.if you're not okay with a selfish MC, the story might not be up to your liking. Also, consider that 'Strong Lead' here means weak to strong, over a decent amount of time, not overpowered from the very beginning.

- KYRobinRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So far, the story is nice. 👍
Reading it was nice and simple, the words are not complicated or don't make sense which is of great help to me, a non-english speaker.
Characters are logical and consistent and the story follows a nice pace.
the mc is great because of his experience and how he is different from other reincarnatied mc in different novels.
Keep it up, author! 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤩🤩🤩🤩 - Dust VixenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I've read a few stories on RR, well more than a few and it is quite something for me to get well and truly hooked by a story.
The premise is excellent and quite unique and while at time it can be difficult to follow the story in places, it is very rewarding when it comes together and then makes sense.
It's well worth a go if you are looking for something a bit different. - Felix AcroamaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Overall this is a pleasure to read. The narration feels like actual literature and the prose is top quality, at least for the genre. I'm honestly surprised it's only hitting trending now!
Style: As described above. Also it's narrated from the mc pov, but it's really well done. You can almost hear an "old soul" talking to you as you read because everything aligns with it including smalls details like word choice and mannerisms. It flows really welll.
Even the interludes are really interesting to read.
Story: The mc himself is really likable and world-building is subtle and engaging.
Grammar: so far as I can tell it's flawless. Nothing else to say here, kuddos to the author for doing what should be minimal requirement for everyone attempting to write I guess.
Character score: the mc/narrator is very interesting. For once we have a character that doesnt fear getting his hands dirty, without coming across as some "angst-ridden edgelord", to quote another reviewr. Sometimes he seems a bit aloof or detached, and other times even insane (in an entertaining way) but it's about what I'd actually expect from someone who has lived for so long and obviously lost so much people because of it.
Other characters feel well-fleshed too and the few passages from different povs are well done.
I strongly read recommend for anyone who doesn't completely hate the genre! - GalmRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Ok, first off: this is good, real good. This is the second work of this author I'm following and I think it's much better than the previous one.
Style: the story so far is narrated from first person pov but don't let it discourage you, the author manages to pull it off. It goes for a strange mix of crass and fancy. I'm not sure how or why but it works for me and it simply flows well. Tbh the outcome is both refreshing and hilarious from time to time.
Story: It's a relatively fresh take on the isekai-reincarnation trope. Our guy finds himself as a baby in a magic/litrpg world (even if the litrpg elements havent had that much impact so far), but there is a twist: the guy had reincarnated multiple times on earth and he remembers his previous lives. That doesnt mean he's op or anything. To quote the first chapter "as my life has come to teach me by its own example, gift a mediocre man with an infinite amount of time and the sad outcome is an infinite amount of mediocrity". Mediocre he might be (so far i don't know if i agree with that) but that doesnt mean the mc is any less appealing to follow and I enjoy the historical references sprinkled from time to time.
Grammar: seems good to me, maybe a typo here and there but Im not native so take it with a grain of salt I guess.
Characters: I just love the mc, I believe the author does a good job characterizing a man that's seen so much he simply seems to live in the moment and take most things with humor. I know the story is tagged with antihero, but he seems to be more of the jack sparrow/deadpool kind than some angst-ridden edgelord (and that's a good thing). Overall, other characters don't feel flat either and I particularly enjoy the banter with "the witch".
Tl;dr give it a chance and don't stop before getting to chap 6-7 to get a feel for the story. The tone does change a bit over time. - volconoRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The actions the characters take are consistent with their characters and make logical sense. One thing I like about this novel is there aren't any parts that you kind of aren't looking forward to like in a lot I've read. A solid novel that doesn't take itself too seriously but is interesting nonetheless
- Worst-answerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0this story is an interesting mix between game lit and reincarnation, the one to get reincarnated is not some nerdy fat dude who got hit by a truck, but a old man, who has been reincarnating for thousand of years, his behavior seems consisten with his age, he is aloof and kinda of snarky, being someone who has seen it all, and after his latest reincarnation, he is quite surprised since it's not the earth anymore.
and probably will work to break his "curse".
he his not particuraly "op" , of couse since he is old, he come across as quite competent .
he is not a d.mb f.ck , and goes around saying "i'm an old immortal etc" , so far only one knows, and i'm hoping it will stay like this.
the setting are pretty interesting , though we haven't been shown the world at large yet.
so far the only thing i could complain about is the lack of chapters.
edit: also, this one of the novel where little can happen between a chapter and another, so i suggest that once you catch up to the latest chap, you let them stack up. - Juan GomezRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0An old soul who has lived many lifetimes since the dawn of humanity takes a path (literally) that leads to what appears to be another world, with magic included. I love the main character, living so long he knows a bit of everything, making good decisions in difficult times, calm and calculating (but he wanders a lot, not that I dislike him) but with problems understanding "the magic" of this new world. I hope he has a unique stimulus to fight.
- OrphicleRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I love the way the book has progressed so far. There is excellent pacing, and the pragmatism of the mc makes the story believable. Of course the mc is a bit of a socippayh but considering his age it makes sense he doesn't really care much about anything. One gripe I have however is the random rambling that doesn't add anything to the story but just exists to either fill space or increase wordcount.
- dstroarRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Tl;dr
Besides the overly complex vocabulary, everything is top tier.
I'll admit I often found myself skimming, but it was not because of lack of interest, rather, the story was so fascinating that I couldn't stop myself from hurrying to proceed further into the plot.
- My humble attempt at explaining my feelings using similar language as the author.......
On a side note, while the story is awesome, the language makes it sometimes hard to understand what exactly is written, and the large gaps between dialogues can be somewhat irritating. But besides that, the plot seems pretty intriguing and the characters seem quite likable. It also has some light hearted comedy ( which I absolutely enjoyed ). - trotskyfriedchickenRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Honestly, I came into this expecting a run fo the mill regretful badass protagonist reincarnation story, but no, this is so much more interesting and original. The mc is clearly an old soul, in the sense of how especially old people become childish, and is a refreshing take on the reincarnated ancient trope. This of course is paired with the expected op fighting skills and cheats of the genre, making a very nice fic. One of my new faves!
