Description
A scientist from another world. A mage seeking deadly knowledge. A power that could topple an empire.
Nathan's life was defined by labs and lectures until an Archmage yanked him into Davrar and made him a tantalizing offer: master magic in exchange for Earth's scientific secrets. Yet, Nathan can't shake off the feeling that darker truths lurk beneath such promises.
The world of Davrar is a dangerous place teeming with dungeons and monsters – ruled by levels, Talents, and a near-infinite progression of power. Nathan will need to rely on himself to survive, forging alliances and taking every advantage he can get against those that seek to control him.
His unique capacity to counteract magic gives him an unprecedented edge, making him a beacon of resistance against those who wield magic as a weapon of control.Armed with intellect and an emerging power that could dismantle the very foundations of Davrar's society,
Nathan emerges not as a mere student of magic, but as its ultimate adversary: the Antimage.

- Adam PetersonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Top tier LITRPG. Seriously one of my favorite book series ever. Can't wait for the next audiobook release.
Smart and complex magic system that's fully consistent. Complex characters with multiple competing interest and great development. Great storytelling with multiple arcs that tie together seamlessly while escalating.
In my opinion the pitfall many books in this genre fall into is losing touch. When your characters are so powerful they can destroy a Galaxy with the snap of their fingers, problems and conflicts are meaningless and hard to relate to for the reader. The author doesn't amazing job of keeping characters relatable and the conflicts meaningful, you always feel as though the MC is playing for real stakes.
I can't say enough good things about the series. I recommend it all the time. It's a must read! - Davros333Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great story with well developed side characters, excellent grammar, multiple evil forces to overcome, and a system that has a unique twist on progressing skills.
Fans of Azarinth Healer will likely also really enjoy this story as he also has wild regeneration and melee attacks, but his abilities being focused on anti magic puts a completely different spin on things.
Only minor thing is the author's tendency to go a bit to oin depth into explaining the mathematics of physics in general terms when Nathan is sharing information.
Overall great story, and excited to read more! - DelagatorRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm enjoying the story enough I got the Audible version too.
It's got more in depth science than I'm used to but it's not too hard to follow for the layman. Could do with less but it doesn't bother me too much - though it does slow down the pace.
Looking forward to seeing where it goes. - Bruno12grRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I like the system, the worldbuilding, what It takes to improve a ability, i like the MC and some characters, dont like the heirs much, but overall is GOOD
I need to write more but english isnt my First language, i could Tell more but o dont think It matters, give this história a chance
Spoiler:
I like how the MC became a immortal antimage - ExtacyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So far the story has been great. Recommended for anyone wanting to read high fantasy fiction with good world building.
The settings were clearly established and characters are decently fleshed out. Consistent POV help the narrative. Science and Magic are my pet peeve especially in high fantasy settings like HP.
Some minor grammatical errors but nothing major preventing immersion.
Want to see antimage to go the Dota2 antimage with dual Egg blades. - FerrouswheelRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I originally came across this on Amazon and read all of it on unlimited. After the first book I was hooked enough to track it down here and keep reading.
Is science the opposite of magic? Well functionally in this case, as the main character is a scientist portaled into a fantasy world and develops anti-magic as his main ability.
If you like casual science applied to magic and trying to learn the rules of a world out, then you'll enjoy this series. - GayOnTillMorningRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great writing, a strong protagonist with powerful motivations (dunno what the other reviews are talking about, the guy is multi-dimensional not contradictory), exciting worldbuilding and an overall strong supporting cast!
The character is dealing with the truly difficult situation of being passionately against atrocity, but without the means to act against it, either because of lack of personal power, or because the consequences of poking the bear are greater than he and his community are able to handle. The book is *about* his struggle with that dilemma, both personally and societally and it handles it remarkably well so far.
Minor notes: Personally I'd wish for a lil more slice of life and a lil less fighting, but that's a me thing. Progression is satisfying and interesting without being the only thing the story is about. Grammar is strong and simple, the prose fades away and lets you get lost in the background. No turns of phrase that'll make you shiver in delight, but certainly higher level than a lot of the litrpgs i see on here. I'm choosing to believe that the village given about four different names (firefield? Fairfield? Farfield?) is an inside joke :p
Excited to see where this goes in the future! - HypnoticalRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0First of all lets get the elephant in the room out of the way - yes this has a bisexual main character and you do have to ride along as he fantasizes about banging dudes. However, so far, despite ALOT of horny thoughts nothing has actually happened with anyone, much less graphically on screen, so in my opinion it is easily ignored - especially when the rest of the novel is so, so good!
Let me begin by saying the Isekai premise and world building are maybe the best in class.
Why is the Grand Archmage summoning random teens from other worlds and proclaiming them the chosen one ? This series has the best answer I have seen to that question.
Why is the aforementioned teen way, way stronger than the average in-world inhabitant despite popping up five minutes ago ? This series has the best answer I have seen to that question.
If these aliens are powerful enough to use dimensional summoning magic and kidnap whoever they want why don't they just conqueror earth ? Its not like we could do anything about it. Sadly we don't have the answer to this yet - but we do have tantalizing clues that lets us know the author is thinking about these things.
Every part of this novel you choose has the same evidence of the author clearly thinking deeply about it and trying to make it "work".
The inhabitants have a distinct slang to their language and have a thought process coloured by their history, the world is constantly changing and not in an inexplicable stasis - there are a dozen other things I could name but I wont. The main thing is that the author has a brain and he is using it to create a world you can believe in - this is especially cool when characters do the obvious, logical thing instead of the "tropey" thing you have come to expect from reading dozens of fantasy books.
That's all well and good ofcourse but no one wants to read a dry history book - character, emotion, action - when these things are married with a realistic, well-thought out world that's when you have the best o - Kirt77Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's a good engaging read, with thoughtfully constructed characters.
None of the instant superpower op protag stuff, but a well reasoned progression, and hard fought achievements.
I've written twenty six words for a review. I struggle to write more than that.
The story is really good, you should read it! - Merritt Weber (Doom)Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0This has been a great story so far. There have been ups and downs as far as plot/rationale, but otherwise i've enjoyed it the whole way through. However, I sometimes feel like the "antimagic" aspect just ends up being a gimmick because it is often made irrelevant by the skill system. I don't feel this way often, but when it hits it hits, yah know?
Thanks for the chaps.
