Description
The story follows a fresh recruit’s attempt to escape a fractured family haunted by the echoes of loss. Joining the Starfront Confederation they are trained in the ways of planetary and system defense. In an attempt to navigate the challenges of military life, they discover an unexpected ally—an enigmatic AI that seems to know more about their family's past than they do.
This story has heavy LGBTQ+ elements.
Author note: I will be updating the Synopsis ever so often to provide wider glimpses into the world.

- XStylusRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This was an enjoyable read. A strong Enders Game vibe with a bit of Matrix insofar as jacking in to remotely fight far away conflicts.
The protag does have mild gender issues, yet it isn't played for lols, crepeyness, nor heavy angst. Though as a bonus for being in this particular branch of the military (one in which your body is placed in a Matrix-like cocoon with your consciousness projected into remote bodies where needed), it's easily dealt with by having one's alternate bodies be female, with rarely any reason to go back.
At this point in the story, the main character (and their cohorts) are still in training and learning to work as a team. Slowly, they're learning there's much more to the situation than their AI guides are letting on, and much more to the human-like (if not parent-like) AIs themselves.
I eagerly look forward to seeing where this goes.
