This is an unexpectedly good story about a man thrown into a world of monsters and powers. Vic has to make use of his intellect and blessing to the fullest before he gets torn by Shredders.
The world is merciless and mysterious, the main character has to gain information when it's expected of him to know it already. Vic often has to guess the truth and attempt to "act natural".
It's a real page flipper, the style is very fluid, its easy to read and you never get bored with the way the story is presented thanks to how the narration style changes depending on the POV. The pacing may be slow at the beggining, but it gets faster later.
The characters are very well-written with their little quirks and different approaches to the advercities life throws at them. The interactions between certain two specific characters are incredible by themselves, and the fact that it's probably not the first time this will happen in this fiction is nice
Vic's blessing is very interesting on its own. I do not want to spoil, but i feel like it will change things up drastically in the future chapters.

The story draws you in through how little the character knows.
As he learns more you learn it through his thoughts trying to process it whatever state he is in.
There are some small weird word choices but I am not sure yet if it is the characters issues or a cultural tic or even a tic of the character but as this is a draft it might change before you read it.
It is fairly early in the story as I write this review but I am looking forward to see where this story leads.
