Description

In a world reshaped by the System, Cassio Vale was passed over three separate times. On his final chance, the System finally responds with a rarely seen Calling:QuestWright. Tasked with drafting and assigning Quests in a world where survival is dependent on structure as much as strength, Cass must build his reputation from nothing, gain experience through smart delegation, and navigate a society held together by more than just blades. He doesn't always wield a weapon. He doesn't cast spells. But with each successful task, each connection made, and each system mastered, he'll make the world just a little bit safer. One Quest at a time. Slow-building Mastery. Logistics Puzzles. Progressive Impact. City-level Strategy. Occasional Combat Scenarios QuestWrightis a grounded LitRPG with slice-of-life elements and realistic progression. Cassio Vale isn't a fighter; he's a QuestWright, building a better future through logistics, leadership, and lived-in service. The story and his role will evolve as things continue. Experience comes from completion, while Reputation comes from results. Release schedule: Chapters are released on Mondays and Fridays, and most chapters will range in length from 2,000 to 3,000 words. Some will be longer, while others will be shorter, depending on the chapter's value. The series currently has six planned books, although that number may increase as the project progresses. Author's note: This, like all my stories, is a work in progress. That means it's a rough draft, with the finalized, eventual product being extensively edited and tightened. I truly hope you enjoy it, as I love the story dearly. So I just binged the first 200 hundred pages of this City Building Lit RPG and it may be the best city building novel that I have read to date (and I have been addicted to them for years). It is fun, nice and just the right amount of cozy. It is still in the early stages and the first few chapters are a little bit to slow and to fast at the same time.
Let me expand on the latter, it takes a little bit of time to get on the management side of things going for it to satisfy my city building addiction. But it throws a ton of characters and world building at the same time making it slightly confusing. I am am totally clueless on how I would fix that. But if you can the imperfect start you will get to one of the most promising novels on this website.
*I have to clarify that I am using the City Building with some leeway as currently is more of a city management novel, but I am sure we will get into the building and expanding side of things in due time.*

Cassio didn't expect his calling, but he embraces it pretty quickly - and I'm glad! He's curious about how things work, has an uplifting "I can do this" attitude tempered by a sense of responsibility, and keeps bribing the gate guard with pastries. He's a fun character to read about, and learning about the setting and his abilities through his eyes is intriguing! I should've gone to bed two hours ago.
If you're at all interested in the premise of "what would it take to design good quests", give this a read! You'll know wether it's for you very quickly.
The author has a very smooth style, using evocative descriptions without distracting from what's happening, the characters have character, and the humor literally had me cackling a minute ago. The System seems well thought out so far, with good reasoning behind the existence of Quests and many smaller details.
Regarding the existence of Quests; the world came close to the brink 20 years ago, and Quests helped to restore order and give people a sense of purpose, trust, and a way forward. This is reflected in their society to this day - people are happy to have System given callings, and not having one is seen as a terrible fate.
Can't wait to see where this is going!

This read is very down to earth in a world that is anything but that. You start to understand the world has rules and they're easy to follow. The MC's choices are very grounded and you often find yourself thinking the same things he does. It's like you're living the characters life at times and not being forced to arrive at unbelievable conclusions. Awesome read so far!

I've thoroughly enjoyed this story so far. Book 1 just completed and it had a satisfying ending. The story up to it was just as good and built upon itself briliantly. The word puctures this story envokes are vivid and the characterizations are clear for both major and minor playersI love the irl quests the author gives out every few chapters. This is only book one and book 2's chapters are going to being dropped soon. So be quick and binge this story now so we can take this ride together!

Really quite good. Some rough edges but it's an interesting concept and the execution is stellar.
Don't like the NamingConventions but hey, it has a purpose I won't spoil because I can't say it's been quite revealed as of the time of writing. Props to the author for going all in on his concept and sticking to it. Usually with this type of work the side characters bloat the hell out of the story, not in this one. They enhance, elevate and garmish while everything is still pushed forward by our MC. Keep doing what you're doing.
This story isn't worth the read. It's worth a re-read, which I will be doing sometime I'm the near future. Try it

Really enjoying this story. Like the idea of a quest giving class and how the author is approaching it. Can’t wait to see how the world develops. Looking forward to seeing how CV will work to advance his city and what ways he looks to helping people, business and adventurers progress.

Only 21 chapters up at the time I’m writing this, but already a good story I can’t wait for the next chapter of. A mix of slice of life with some combat and friendships. The author has a good writing style that makes reading the story easy and engaging. Definitely recommend.

This story is well-written and the MC feels believable and consistent so far.
There are funny moments (the wonky quest descriptions!) but the whole story isn’t trying to be funny all the time. It feels like a believable world, and the training quest provides world building in an organic way. So far there is enough action for my slice-of-life tastes and I can see it becoming more combat focussed without becoming the same as numerous other LitRPGs.
I can’t wait to see where the author takes this, and the Patreon is great value

Questwright is a genuinely great and interesting story. The system is fun, the abilities Cassio gets are perfect for some interesting arcs and the humor works. Quest descriptions in times of stress are definitely going to be hilarious and I can't wait for things to sideways for him. I would definitely recommend if you like slower paced stories where the protagonist tries to get the most out of the tools he's been given.Sincerely, a magical lobster (for some reason)

The author has taken two tropes of the LitRPG genre and combined them into something fresh. The Adventurer's Guild and the trope of receiving a class from the system that you didn't want and having to figure out what that means for your life moving forward. Adventurer's Guilds are a staple of the genre. Go to the guild, get a quest. It's something so common place that many authors just take it for granted that their readers will know how it works. But what about the people who assign the quests? Someone has to send people out and make sure things that need to be fetched are fetched. Someone has to prioritize which areas to keep clear of monsters, which supplies need to be delivered first, and who has to escort a stubborn, loyal horse to the stable when it's owner is too injured. And the person who makes those decisions is the QuestWright.
The author has done a great job so far. Cass is slowly developing as a character, figuring out his place in the world and how to best help others while advancing himself. The prose is above average for Royal Road. There are touches of humor in an otherwise dark setting. My only complaint, having caught up on chapters, is that there isn't more.
