Description

Thrust into arena against formidable foes like the deadly vampire Valeran, Everett’s every battle is broadcast across the universe, watched by those who manipulate the very fabric of reality. As alliances form and tensions rise, the final showdown looms—a battle that might force him to face off against the very allies he’s grown to rely on. Can Everett survive and uncover the truths of the System to return to his pregnant girlfriend and their unborn child? Or will he be consumed by the very system he seeks to conquer?

Update Schedule:

Every Monday/Wednesday until the book is finished.

What to expect:

Everett is going to have to win the tournament if he wants to go home. In between the fights there will be some questing. There is even a dragon or two.

If he wins the tournament his goal is to go home. There will eventually be base building, and basically 4X stuff. Cheers, hope you enjoy.

Why I am making this book:

I lost my son 6 years ago. He barely had a shot at life. His name was Everett, I think of this book as a way for him to have an adventure and in a way, a life.

The first five chapters of this story are an absolute thrill ride. They pull you into a virtual reality world that's packed with intense battles. The author really nails the details of the VR gaming experience. Watching the MC go from an everyday gamer to a seasoned warrior is exactly what I like to read. His struggle to balance his virtual adventures with real-life responsibilities adds depth to an already rich story. The dream sequences and the creepy vibe of the Iron Hegemony's arena keep you on the edge, always wondering what's going to happen next. All in all, these opening chapters offer a gripping and well-crafted glimpse into a world of virtual battles and personal growth.

From what I've read so far this seems to be a good piece of fiction. Definitely better than most in the genre. Normally I don't tend to read much LITRPG, but this one is a highlight.
The main character is realistic and has character to him and I always enjoy when an isekai'd person actually wants to go back home. Grammatically, I don't see any errors or issues that stand out. There's a good flow to the sentence structure. None of the naming themes sound off or unnatural which is nice in my opinion.
Overall I would say this is something you should give a read and a follow. Good stuff.

Even though I'm not particularly fond of LitRPGs, this series truly immerses readers in an intricate and captivating adventure right from the start. The gradual power evolution in the storyline infuses each chapter with excitement, while the main character's struggle to adapt to a new way of life offers a refreshing perspective. The author's remarkable talent for painting vivid pictures of both virtual and real-world settings deserves applause, allowing readers to fully immerse themselves.
Character development is executed thoughtfully, turning the protagonist, Everett, into a relatable and genuinely intriguing figure, funny enough, he's an educator as I am, and I can personally relate to him. The incorporation of game mechanics, skills, and classes seamlessly enriches the narrative, which is great. The gladiator battles are not only realistic but also thrilling, and the world-building is well crafted.
The writing style comes with some unique twists, it effortlessly draws readers in. Any minor issues in the plot are easily forgiven, with room for potential improvements in future revisions. The characters feel natural and well-fleshed out, contributing to the overall appeal. Whether you're a seasoned LitRPG enthusiast or a newcomer to the genre, this series is worth reading. It may not be everyone's taste, but it possesses a magical quality that sets it apart and makes it worth experiencing.

Ever since the first pages of this LitRPG series, I've been absolutely hooked. The story weaves an enchanting mix of fantasy, adventure, and psychological depth that not only captivates but also resonates on a personal level. In a genre that's increasingly crowded, this series distinguishes itself with its thoughtful character development, intricate world-building, and pulse-pounding action.
Our protagonist, Everett, is not your typical hero, and that's what makes him so relatable. He's an educator turned adventurer. This blend makes for a unique and fascinating character study that's as introspective as it is action-packed.
The game mechanics are woven into the fabric of the narrative. Skills, classes, and stats are included and I’m excited to read more about them. The tiered profession system is another standout feature, allowing characters to grow and specialize in a manner that's both logical and intuitive.
There have been 2 actual gladiator fights so far and I especially enjoyed those. There is a realism to them that I appreciated. The world building is also really well done so far. The author does a good job of describing everything in a way that makes it easy for me to picture it all.
If you're a fan of LitRPGs, or even if you're new to the genre, this is a series to try for sure.

This is an arena story, yes, but in contrast to so many others which grow repetitive and boring after the first few chapters this one is the total opposite.
The MC is changed by his circumstances and the understandable need to adapt to the pressure he is exposed, the toll is visible...
This is no simple combat story it has depth and an underlying storyline that is very slow burn but still keeps you interested.
At the same time it keeps up a good writing style the whole time

The story seems very detailed from the start, telling us about every little delicate detail. The chapters get more more interesting as the difficulty power spikes up every chapter.  The MC not being able to adapt into his new life style unlike the generic MC's was fresh. Not everything has to be easy for the main character. Really hope to see what happens as the story goes on.

    Characters:
There's only really one major character so far, but I enjoy him a lot. I like how he's proud of himself for getting in better shape, how he doesn't just forget about his old life (and instead is a big motivator for him), and also how relatable he is.
A good example of this is when he gets 12 in intelligence (with 10 being average). I got a little annoyed when I first read it and was like "What? But he's a professor!", then right after he comments on it too, and has the exact same reaction as I did.
    Story:
Good so far, nothing to complain about.
    Grammar:
Only thing I noticed was a single missing quotation mark, but it has already been pointed out in a comment so I'm sure it'll get fixed by the time you (the potential future reader) read this review. Other than that I didn't notice anything else.
    Style:
I like how vivd and descriptive the writing is, but at the same time, there are a few times here and there where it's a little too descriptive. Personally, that can at times make it a little hard to follow.
    Overall:
Despite the (small) problems I have with the style, the book gets 5/5. The issues I have aren't a big deal, and they may very well be a positive thing for someone else. Even then, the rest more than makes up for it!

    Man I loved this story!
This was actually my first ever LitRPG Book, and gotta say, I'd be amazed if there were any better books out there in the genre.
It reminds me of a of Sword Art Online and Berserk funnily enough, especially with all the monsters the MC encounters and defeats.
Speaking of, the constant fights almost every chapter kept me on my toes and honestly had me craving more each time. I'm not gonna lie, I revised an entire fight scene in my own story because these fights showed me what could be.
Building off the previous point, the descriptions are super vivid and clear, I love it! Most books kind of fail doing so, but it's obvious the author takes care in feeding his readers the necessary info to put themselves into the first person perspective.
Now, I will say, the only thing I found a little weird was the long paragraphs and sort of excessive "dictionary" type wording choice. But I'm glad to say the later chapters alleviated those tiny issues.
All in all, I have nothing but congratulations for the author for such an earned success with this book, and I can't wait to see what he has in store for us in the future! Keep it going my dude!👌🏾

The style has a weird twist on it that I can not quite explain, but it still makes the story flow smooth. I feel like some people (like me for example) would be obsessed with understanding what it is, and most likely fail. There is just something magical about this one.
The story has some minor hiccups, but they are easily to ignore, especially when comparing it to most other works on here. (Even mine!) A rewrite after the book is finished and everything is set in stone would make this story virtually perfect.
While I spotted some mistyped letters, I only noticed them when I was combining through with the express purpose of finding said errors and mistakes, but otherwise the language and sentence structure are both quite good.
The characters are quite fleshed out, and overall feel natural, although some one-sidedness can be felt at the background, as their base, but it is not enough to impact the reading, and in some aspects even better as it makes it easier to understand the story.
Overall, this is a good story worth adding to your favourites, but it is simply not my cup of tea due to my preferences being hyper-specific.
I wish the author good luck in writing and in general.

Obinias is skilled at keeping you clicking through the chapters. I kept planning to take a break, then thinking I would read just one more chapter, until I had read more than I meant to in one sitting. This is a great skill for a writer of serialized fiction to have, so keep it up!
The style is vivid and descriptive, but some of the paragraphs are a little too long and dense. I had a good sense of what the combatants looked like, and the fighting scenes are clear and well-detailed.
The grammar is overall good, but there are some minor errors that make it feel as though it could benefit from a proofread or a fresh set of eyes on it. These minor issues do not take away from the enjoyment of the story, and none are jarring or frequently repeated.
So far, I am really enjoying the story. I wasn't as sure about the first few chapters, but once the MC picks his class, things really pick up. It's clear that a lot of worldbuilding went into this, and a lot of thought was put into how the system works. It's a work of passion, and that shows through.
I like that the main character is a professor, and not a student as so many protagonists are, and I really like that he has a clear, powerful reason to want to get back home. It gives him strong goals right from the start. My only complaint for this section is that he is a bit too good at fighting right off the bat, but that is explained enough by the VR games he likes playing that it isn't as major of an issue as it would be otherwise. He is definitely a character I'm rooting for.
