Description
And so Arascus, God of Pride, waited. He waited for his defeat as the forces of Heaven & Hell combined descended upon him. He waited as they tried to kill him. He waited as they locked him away. He waited for a thousand years in that dark prison. Now, he was done waiting. Please join my discord if you have any questions, or anything that you would like to talk about or be answered!: https://discord.gg/VjGeNRHKnZ --- This story takes place in a fantasy variant of our modern world with ancient Gods, with multiple differing character perspectives and excerpts at the start of each chapter. These excerpts are largely the character's own opinions, they are not correct. Also, unless said otherwise, most characters lie to achieve their own goals. Only believe the character's own perspectives for their own thoughts, but please do understand that everyone is biased in some way or another. This story features progression of powers and technology, ramping up from swords to rifles into modern style of warfare and then further beyond. It is a slow-burn. I don't use any AI to write, I'm not against AI personally and I've used it for the cover. I just work a lot.

so who do you cheer for in this novel, fellow readers, and what does it tell about yourself? are you a sorcerer or a mage? strong or weak? selfish or a liar? - The CommentatorRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Seriously. This story is honestly amazing. Here, let me explain.
Style and Grammar. This is the lowest point, the style is good but nothing outstanding, and the grammar is fine. I noticed three or four mistakes every chapter, and there were a couple of spots where I had to guess the meaning of a sentence, but there was nothing truly egregious.
Story. Now we’re getting to the good part. This book is really, really good at telling the story. There are usually multiple events or plot lines taking place at once, usually as different elements are introduced, and the author expertly places the chapters showing these different elements so that they build suspense and interest without interrupting critical moments. Each chapter also begins with either an excerpt of worldbuilding, or a glimpse at what some of the other characters are doing, signified by italics. I will also say that action scenes, like battles, really benefit from the multiple points of view they tend to get, making them far more exciting while also being crucial moments to character growth.
Character. Again, where the author does incredibly well. Each perspective being shown is heavily influenced by the character being spot-lighted, a sign of well-thought out characters. The author is also incredibly good at making us sympathize and root for characters in different sides, which makes the climactic moments even better. On top of that, characters are also very consistent, not suddenly changing how they act unless there is a very good reason (ex. Trauma).
Overall, I recommend reading this story if you enjoy kingdom building. It looks really long, but when reading it, it doesn’t feel like it is. - Volker HuetterRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0"The Greatest Sin" is without a doubt the most intriguing novel I have read all 2024. Over 1100 pages written as of today, and NOT once was I bored.
A beautiful world full of mysteries that leave you wondering when you go to bed.
A full assembly of characters that feel undoubtedly unique, authentic and real.
Multiple POV style story telling that enriches the experience immensely, truly bringing the whole world to life, easily comparable to Star Wars.
I absolutely recommend you to read and enjoy this fabulous piece of art. - dniceRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great read. Needs an editor to go through it, but this one of the best stories I have read on these sites. Love all the characters and their relationships. Action scenes are good, in depth strategy. War building and maybe kingdom building in the future. Fantastic, thanks for writing this.
- AutisticManRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Amazing. It has good characters and has a very interesting plot. I love it. The author posts everyday and is very consistent. He has a very deep unique lore. The prose is simple and straightforward like brandon sanderson. The author has a lot of influences from the fantasy greats and it comes across in an original way.

It can feel jumpy but get t9 like the small blurbs of other scenes in the world as it brings things together as a whole. Cany wait to see what everyone is like as the story moves forward
- Kuba TrismegistusRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I am not recommending you read this story, I am recommending you to donate to the author so you and me can both read the story he makes afterwards.
Genuinely promising and thrilling, intelligently designed and with a novel premise; what if a fantasy world was set in the information age and its gods were just as idiotic, cruel, and toxic as the ancient Greeks' tales describe.
A character-driven high fantasy political thriller with epic battles, centred around the divine families as they find new ways to piss eachother off.
Also, impressively lacking in filler, so far nearly every scene has been welcome, with even the "cutesy" scenes being touching enough to not outstay their welcome.
I will say that basic grammar mistakes occur ubiquitously throughout the story, not a devastating issue, however in some chapters this is distracting due to the quantity of mistakes which is perhaps a result of the author's sinful quantity of word-per-day output; always outputting a chapter per day which, frankly, I read far too slowly to benefit from 😅
If you're frustrated by writers who are slow or go on long hiatuses then this will certainly be refreshing.
Also lots of strong and evil women who are actually smartly written, for the audience that like that. - KubiumRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I know most of you will not bother reading this thing whole nor do you have time for it. What you want to hear is this. There is no cringe, self-righteous MC nor some 1 000iq supervillain. The whole novel is told through POVs of the main actors in that world with some normies there and there to show us how it all looks for the people on our level. There are no info dumps, and there is a World war of annihilation going on, and neither side is holding back. So go read it.
Overall - You got Good guys who had, for the millennium enforced total disarmament of the whole world, and then you have The bad guys who strive for total domination of the world.
Style - No MC. The novel is written from the POVs of a lot of characters, which let's be honest, is most of the time total tragedy for the novel. But here it actually works and make the novel uncountabble better then it would be otherwise. Also there are no info dumps and worldbuilding is done by short paragraphs from an archives of that world. There are also POVs from the normies so you can see what it looks like from their perspective and what changes were brought to the world.
Story - No plotholes. The pacing is good, though in some places, it is a little rough, but unless you have a few re-reads under your belt, you will not find them.
Characters - I will bet my life on this author being either total empath or one of he best psychologists. Characters feel more alive and real then some of my irl friends. Perfectly captured mentality of deities. Don't know of any novel that would you actually make feel that God can be humanlike while retaining their Divinity.
Grammar - Not a native speaker so can't really say what would a proper English-bred critique said, but I didn't anything, nor I am on look out for them. - ManicArbiterRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I am a sucker for different views and stories about Gods. Especially the less all knowing and all powerful kind and more the old Greek, Roman, and Norse ideas of gods. A God that has dominion over some aspect of the world, but is still a fallible person under all that power. And that is what we have here. The way divinity is explained and then shown via the character is fascinating. They are very much people with power and shaped by the mortal view of their aspect. The various gods are all interesting characters with motivations, pasts, and connections with each other. Like a large extended family that mostly hates one another in the way only people you really know can be.
After a thousand years of forced peace, the old big bad evil god has remerged and wants to retake the world. The story is all about him and his family versus the old and new gods that oppose him. The supposed evil gods all act much kinder and more understanding than the ones against them, despite being Gods of War, Death, and Pride versus Peace, Order, and Light. The setting is also like a modern world, with all the cars, planes, and internets you'd expect, but with a forced ban on war and weapon development. A lot of the story is about planning various operations and then reacting to those plans as the main cast tries to defeat and discredit the reigning pantheon. With interaction between these powerful gods, each other, and various mortals.
The author uploads most every day and most of the works are fairly error free. You can understand what is being said and I'm not very good at grammar anyways. Still, it all flows and reads well. All and all, it's a good story and I can't wait to read more.
