The Fourth Coming

Description

When an aspiring LitRPG author who just can't get it up to finish more than a thousand words goes to sleep at night, probably the last thing they expect (even if they'd dream about it) is a real-life System Initiation beginning with a beam of rainbow-streaked nuclear cosmic Qi blasting into the Earth... straight through their bed.

No shit, though? That's exactly what happened.

This is the real story of how I got hand-picked by Fate or Luck or whatever plot-armor you prefer to become the next big MC, and I can't wait to tell you everything.

This story takes a genre aware, dedicated litrpg reader protagonist with an annoying amount of snark, gives him not one but three overpowered advancement levels, but still manages to feel fun and like it’s going to be worth a read. I admit the first couple chapters had me hesitant where this was going but as soon as Quart hooks up with Bryan and gets to the action I was hooked.
style - the pacing is great. Author can tell a story which isn’t surprising as he’s apparently an audiobook performer. That gives him a good sense of style. You’ll know two chapters in if it’s too in-jokey or profane for you.
Grammar - no issues here. Maybe a couple typos. No biggies.
Characters - the MC has few redeeming qualities thus far however he does start out convinced it’s a lucid dream and is also aware that he kinda sucks thus I’m giving him slack. He fits the mold of some of the more edgy protag in this genre, a little more Jason Adana than Carl.  Bryan interests me and I hope to see him develop more.
Story - a solid start to an apocalypse that has a bit of “everything and the kitchen sink” feel to it . I’m  interested in seeing how the larger world is transformed. The three different advancement paths could be a fantastic new approach or a gimmick that doesn’t work - guess I’ll have to read more to find out!
