Description
Orion awoke among stars, swirling galaxies, and the black void of space.
Robbed of his core memories, and surrounded by thousands of similarly hapless souls, he faces a choice: to be content with quietly existing, or to reach for ascension.
For him, the decision is simple:ascension.
Relying on quick thinking, utility-based powers, and friends found along the way, will Orion be able to overcome the challenges and saboteurs of this strange new world? Will he be able to regain his stolen memories, and does he have the strength to confront that which is returned?
A tale of adventure, growth, friendship, and shared giggles along the way.

- Bluelightning42Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Overall/enjoyment score: solid. That's it - binged it and think it was really fun. High quality - I can imagine it rising up to the top of RS soon. Definitely recommend.
A more in depth breakdown below.
Style: is clean, descriptive, and easy to read. There is a heavy focus on "showing" the information instead of info dumping it. This is a huge positive for pacing and keeping the mystery alive but ...I do tend to like when litrpg elements are described in glorious detail vs mentioned offhand. Personal taste and not enough to count against this.
Story: this is hard to pinpoint because it's still early and I kind of shift what's considered the 'story' between series. For aggressive ascension the most important thing I feel like pointing out is it's a party based progression fantasy. A proper one with a team of characters that feel real and fleshed out - so many series throw either loner mcs or mcs with followers but no companions so it's a breath of fresh air when a proper party series comes out. The closest I can describe this is edge cases - even if toneally/style/system wise they are completely different.
Outside of the party setup there's a slowly expanding world and lore. The system and skills given near the start are kind of generic but-
As of the newest chapter he's gained an alchemy profession and so far the alchemy has been fresh enough feeling to differeniate it from all the other alchemy I've read.
I hope there's some more unique class skills to come as well as some creative uses of what's currently there.
I'm excited by the "utility mage" premise and I'm looking forward to see how it progresses.
Grammer: is functionally flawless. This has been edited before it's released to a degree that's almost rare on RR.
Character: this is a point that's weird and hard to describe. Personality wise everyone is good and I love the conversations and banter and how the entire main party feels like actual people so quickly.
We are slowly learning more about each character - - Osamaru TaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A good story with great grammer and compelling Characters that will keep you hooked from beginning to end.
Its somewhat cliche in places, but in a "Classic" way that feels nostalgic rather than overused or boring.
The biggest draw is the characters themselves though. Its very much a story not about a singular character, per-say, but the GROUP as a whole.
Right from the start you can tell that there is far more going on that you might see on the surface, and its a good change of pace from the more predictable stories that try to do the same thing.
That being said, time for the "Bad" too.
First, the Primary "MC" is a little... meh. Not terrible, but compared to some of the other characters, they feel a bit dull. Maybe this is intentional, to allow the Readers to reflect more on the, but for me personally, I just dont like that. Thankfully the other party members pick up some of that slack.
Like I said, it is very much the story of a PARTY, not just one person.
Secondly, the Skill / System is there, but that's about all. The story hasn't really delved to deep into the system, what it can do and what we should expect from it. You could call it "Generic" but until we see MORE of it, I'll hold off on that.
At most, I'd call it may "RPG Lite", and to be fair, maybe some people LIKE that aspect. That's totally fine. I personally just like a bit more meat. Or at least see what it can REALLY do .
===================
Overall, its a good story with a classic, nostalgic feel that should appeal to a lot of people.
Would recommend again, keep up the good work, Haylock! - ShadowInLightRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This was such an enjoyable thing to read, I'm sad there's not anymore currently. Combine with the author's other work that is set in the same universe, the world building seems pretty solid. The characters actually have interesting personalities and meaningful relationships with others in the party and those that they meet along the journey.
- ToraAKRRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0An enjoyable start. The author was not lying when he claimed to have poured over every word. It shows.
Grammer is fantastic. Very few errors or misused words making the story flow as intended, without constant interuptions.
Style is fleshed out. Sentance and paragraph structure is consistent. It's refreshing to read wording that isn't constantly evolving along with the author. There only a single time when a poorly written section pulled me out of the story.
Story is progressing well so far. I would like to see a little more details about the world, smells in particular are lacking and a great way to add depth. Colors, sounds, and how characters feel about their environment would all be welcome additions.
Character score, the only real flaw so far. Our MC here is quite blah, at least in the short bit I've read. He's just gonig with the flow, not much thought, opinions, or emotions.
There is one character that truly shines though. If all of the characters had that level of personality, this story would be a 10 out of 5.
We are given some stats but no reference to give them weight. 5 str score, but does he feel strong or weak? does an increase in stats make him feel smarter or faster?
Summary - A great start, worth checking out, especially as more chapters become available. As the characters progress and those weak spots are filled in, this story will truly shine. - WaterBenisRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I LOVE THIS STORY ITS AWEMAZING! I have few words needed to explain this its just the best. Don't need to think about if maybe you should try it all you need is to actually read it then do the thinking later. If you are someone who can't help but think then use this review to tell you that it is a easy decision on your part because I already decided for you to read it. Yes I am forcing this decision on you for you have not yet decided on your own. If you have any issues with the above please finish reading the story and then you can put your compliments in the compliments box.
Read the story its good not just good great not just great amazing not just amazing beautiful not just beautiful but perfect and if you disagree I will simply ignore you so wop wop.
? How is this not 200 words yet I'm getting flashbacks from school.
Really still not 200 words this is unexpected and unexceptional.
Ok i am going to assume this line here is actually going to end this so I can submit my review that I am writing right now to tell you what I think in terms of what I thought about for this story. - alSeenRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Solid LitRPG. Somewhat run of the mill, but I never understood why people view that is a bad thing. A well written story is worth reading. I can easily include this story as another world in so many other stories, so it feels more of an expansion in worldbuilding, just MORE of what you want. Would recommend. Only sad the story ended for now and the author might not continue. But still decent ending.
- KittyJinglesRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5A little all over, but enjoyable and relaxing. My main gripe is the disconnect between the title+ blurb and story. I was expecting fast hard progression, Aggressive Ascension even. There's not much aggressive about the story, it's more cozy. Like it's not a bad story, but it wasn't the story I was led to believe we were getting, with Portal magic I was really hoping to get to stars, swirling galaxies, and the black void of space and it really looked like we were heading there for a few chapters. But now
we're like stirring ingredients cooking up stuff we got from some fairly standard dnd slime battles. It's more focused on party interaction, there's a chaos friend, a big simple cook friend, the exasperated mage girl. He's getting into alchemy?
Maybe it's just some detours, and we're going to be getting to that cool stuff in the blurb.
It's not a bad story at all. The main POV character is not aggressive though, and it's not cut throat but like fun and jokey. This is not a tight hard climb to the top - JavaresRoyal Road★★ 2.0Writing is boring. Plot moves slow. This is one of those books that has a tutorial stage. Yet he treats the tutorial stage like the real story when it should by all means be a speedrun.
Mc is dull and doesn't have much of a personally at all. The author gives far more personality and intruige to another.
Starts off cool and unique but then all creativity seems to have been used up by ch. 5. I stuck it out hoping it'd get better but my patience has worn thin. - KhaosWLRoyal Road★★ 1.5The story starts off at a decent pace with character introductions, mechanics and a slightly slow pace. But then the chapters become just filler with nothing but puns and innuendos shoved down the readers throat for 50 percent or more of entire chapters. Plenty of other content to read on RR but I wanted to warn others before they get too far in.
