A Stray Cat Strut Fanfiction- This is based upon the setting created by RavensDagger, it is not canon, but I AM doing my best to make it consistent. Thanks to RavensDagger for creating the setting and providing me access to some of the public reference material. Note about lack of fanfiction tag:This story originally DID have the fanfiction tag, but I recieved RavensDagger's permission to take donations. The RR admin wasn't able to open donations without removing the tag. The lack of tag is intentional. If you haven't read the original story read it here:Stray Cat Strut I also have a discord where I discuss this and other stories here:Discord I am not a professional author, this is my first story, written as practice for an original fiction I plan on writing. I will post a schedule once my daily chapters start running out. Image from deepAI.org

This story is absolutely amazing. I couldn't put it down. I have to thank RavensDagger for allowing this piece of art to exist. I love this and I now have to read the original so I have more to read.
I have finished up to Book Five - Artistic License and it has been a great ride full of explosions, guns, combat bots with hilarious personality quirks, cuteness, a snarky and sarcastic AI with the a clearly great sense of humor, and feels alive in the greatest sense of the word.
The only nitpick I have is a few grammar errors made it in but I do it too... So I can't be harsh about it. A general comb over to fix the spelling and fix that and it's absolutely golden.
I would personally request that TheWackyWombat and RavensDagger once the two of these stories are finished make these into actual books one day! Release them together or even better have them be books not so much connected to one another but just taking place in the same universe at different times would be something I'd personally pay for.
See you on the bear-icades! For a claw full of fun with grenades, guns, and ammo for a long long day! You will enjoy this that I can garentee.

Sands, there is so much to say about Womby and her amazing story, yet I can't say too much or I would spoil everything... so, I will focus not on the plot or the upgrades, but instead on Teddy.
Teddy is the embodiment of Jinxed, and we, the community, are certain she knows it too. And yet, we all love her for it. From her family of misfits and Issi, the best little sister character I have read to date, to her relations with the other Samurai, she is well loved and worried after, despite her prickly persona.
Her comrades banter also make up some of the best scenes, with a light debate on "Who could Bob take in a fight?" Having been had in the community. Whoever said teddy bears couldn't be deadly have never seen Toy Story 3 or read Teddy Bears on Brigade.
Womby, the amazingly talented author, continues to inspire plenty of us authors in just how much more we can push the limits of the antithesis war machine, and how much more we can throw at our stories. Please give it a read, as Teddy deserves both your eyes and your scolding. Cause while the antithesis may be her direct, immediate threat and enemy, she has taken a personal vow of vengeance against Murphy's law and will only stop once she's dead.

I may or may not have an actual plushie collection. No proof of such exists, one way or the other.
But, it's safe to say that if I did in fact have such a collection, I'd be more than happy to add this entire parade to it.
I'll probably end up doing a edit and more comprehensive review later down the line, as I haven't gotten far yet and as such don't actually have much to say other than "is good, would read again".
One thing that I do very much like, is the direction Tiny Teddy seems to be going with her Vanguard spec. Robots are always fascinating!

Well written. Interesting characters. Overall excellent.
Teddy is a believable reaction to poverty and trauma. It has been an excellent addition to Stray Cat Strut and an excellent story on its own.

My favorite SCS fanfiction. Adorable characters, wonderful pacing, and so much more.Wacky does a stupendous job of blending a fun fuzzy teddy bear theme with the realities of living in a capitalist hellscape during an apocalypse.Brava Wombat, Brava.Apparently I need more words. RR doesn't like succinct reviews I guess...Wacky Wombat makes good words!

The story is more than competent and provides welcome content in the SCS universe.
Teddy is continuously teased about her plans are not well thought out, but she is extremely competent. She has landed on a build that will allow her to become the undisputed ruler of her under city.
SCS's charm is largely built around the humor and relationships. This story understandably suffers in comparison. Teddy is literally and figuratively smaller than Cat.

I found this while reading Stray Cat Strut. (SCS) His universe is amazingly fun and has unlimited opportunities for other stories. The Fan Fictions often are in different cities because it’s a world-wide invasion and why not?
Story: Here we have the Magical Girl Trope: Take a Teen Girl and give her God-Like powers or, in this case, access to Sufficiently-Advanced-Technology and weapons and stand back! It stays true to the SCS universe and it works very well here. The story arcs sometimes get muddy, but are still entertaining. One arc had the MC travel to another city (Seattle) and help out there.
Character: The Main Character is a 16 year-old street kid surviving in the under-city slums and has never even seen sunlight. Her personality is as a caregiver who wants to help people, yet she is a hustler; knowing she won’t eat if she doesn’t put the effort in. The side characters are a mix of very well done to forgettable.
Acknowledging her petite size (4’ 5”) she ops for “autonomous combat units” who can take the brunt of physical combat. She settles in as a Commander of her own army.
Style: Mostly first person. Some POV changes and even side stories of their own. This is amazing considering this started as a cute Fan Fiction contest entry.
Grammar: Very good overall. I have seen very few issues and even these get fixed.
Overall, I like this more than RavensDagger’s SCS. Recommended!

A high quality progression story, in the world of Stray Cat Strut. Teddy Bears on Brigade (TBoB) covers the tale of a new Samurai named Teddy, and starts about a year before the events in the Primary fiction. Teddy is going to be a powerhouse in the SCS World, and has even been mentioned in the main story.
Style: TBoB embraces much of the SCS framework, showing new ways to take on the Antithesis while also dealing with life in a difficult area. Teddy's gimmick is a simple one: hordes of combat bots. But with a twist, so they come out as adorable teddy bears and other animals. TheWackyWombat has struck a balance between cute/adorable and the horror of a war for survival and maintained it throughout.
Story: TBoB started steady and picked up the pace as she went along. The plots are simple, but engaging and usually end with just enough of a twist to not be predictable. TheWackyWombat is to be commended for not shying away from difficult situations. Several times the plot has turned darker, and they have been unflinching in staying true to the characters and where they lead.
Grammar: TheWackyWombat's writing is clear and clean with only minor grammar errors. It's an easy read in a casual but bare bones style that emphasizes the key events and situations and little else. Do not expect grand descriptions of locals draped in purple prose, but you will definitely have the core info about the setting, leaving you to fill in any details you find needed.
Character: Teddy and the rest of the cast are well defined. It's easy to predict how they will act in new situations. There are large and small signs of growth, which promise more changes to come. TheWackyWombat has produced a wide range of Samurai with a huge spread of abilities and personalities, making for challenging interactions. Teddy's family is realistically low-functional (not quite true disfunctional, but does have it's share of problems).

One of the more developed SCS (Stray Cat Strut) fanfictions.
Our protagonist, Teddy is on the bottom rung of society, trying to survive in the Undercity, living off the dregs and trash the economic layers above them left behind.
Out of all the SCS stories, Teddy is probably the biggest underdog. That doesn't mean she's not capable, no sir.
She's street smart, down to earth and has a heart for her community. Even if elements of that community (gangs mostly) seem out to have it out for her.
Teddy's unique spin on things is that she's treating her Samurai status like she's the commander in an RTS or TD game. Which is a fun twist on the usual "Empower Thyself" sort of trope Samurai usually go for.
Instead, Teddy knows her shortcomings and goes the Build-a-Bear route. Literally. Robot drones with rudimentary A.I. that she uses as infantry, scouts, heavy weapons platforms etc. etc. Aside from bears, expect foxes, rabbits, squirrels and the occasional moose or two to each have different roles in her army.
It's like she's building her own PMC (Private Military Company - SCS's legalized mercenary outfits) and setting up the logistic chain to keep pumping them out, aside from other stuff she can use to improve her neighbourhood.
It's a twist we haven't seen to this degree in other SCS stories. And it's pretty damn fun and kind of wholesome. I'm looking forward to Teddy's original team of androids to one day get advanced enough to achieve true A.I. and true personalities.
(I'm just hoping they'll be like an android A-Team of commando's doing all sorts of crazy stuff together, with Teddy as sometime voice of reason along for the ride :) )

Came across a link to this through another SCS fanfic... and of the fanfics I've read thus far, I honestly think this one's best. If you're a fan of Stray Cat Strut, I can't imagine you disliking this story. I honestly think Teddy'd get along with Cat... after they figured each other out.
