In a world of countless enemies, the right talent is all it takes to thrive.

Freddy Stern, a twenty-one-year-old cashier, has lived a plain, albeit harsh life. Having been orphaned—twice—he's spent the last ten years working and staying out of trouble. His only aspiration is to save enough money to become an archhuman.

His dream gets the jump on him when he barely survives a near-death encounter and finds himself with 1% Lifesteal, a bizarre talent with numerous contradictions and just as many uses.

With every dead enemy, he becomes a bit stronger, a little wiser, and a lot more ruthless. And no matter how much damage he takes, he can always put himself back together. Physically, at least.

But on his path to power, after having to look at the rotting guts of archhuman society again and again, can his talent keep his mind and soul as pristine as his body?

Or will that part of him simply remain broken?

This story is an escalating slow burn and a weak-to-overpowered progression fantasy with LitRPG elements. It takes a while for the action to begin in earnest, but once it comes, it rarely slows down.

What to expect:

- MC is a relatively normal guy before becoming someone extraordinary through hard work, aided by a cheat!

- Complex power system!

-Expansive worldbuilding!

- Hardcore grinding!

-Brutal fights!

This is a gem of a story. Gritty and violent and very very real. Riveting. Freddy is a genius of insanity and I’m rooting for his goodness to balance his hatred. Support characters are all very interesting and some certainly suffer from digging a hole deeper even though they knew they are doing something wrong. I love Thor. Some of what transpired was tough.

This series leaves me in awe at the sheer creativity and imagination. Always something entertaining coming around the next corner. The talent system and skill development are very creative.  Keeps me motivated to create my universe. Thank you for putting it out there. I'm eager to read the next chapter!

While the first book is somewhat painful to get through, and the second book is a bit slow, after that it begins going faster and faster, and it shows no signs of stopping. By the latest chapters it is genuinely in my Top 3 books on Royal Road, however I will admit that for some people it might be best to skim the first book, its well written and I thought it was really good, but the first book is just misfortune after misfortune befalling the mc so if you don't like that then skimming or reading a summary or something might be your best option, even if you have to force yourself to read though it, the later books are absolutely worth it.

1% is a really great read. The writing is fluid, the worldbuilding is great and - more importantly - revealed to us in a excellent way. Our hilariously misfortunate protagonist Freddy doesn't know much about Arch culture to start, so we learn alongside him.
Of course, what we learn is that Arch culture hates Freddy, and I think that's why I like reading this series so much. The overarching conflict of 1% Lifesteal is NOT Freddy v. . It's Freddy v. the culture he lives in. I don't want to spoil too much, but Freddy's foes require more than just an indomitable will to face, and it's been a thrill watching him learn how to survive against them.

I read all 113 currently available chapters in barely 40 hours. It was such an interesting read that I couldn't put it down. You've got yourself a recurrent reader.
I believe this is story to be proud of as an author. It has an interesting and coherent power system. Amazing world building. Plenty of character that feel unique and alive ( and not for the benefit of the main character, that's even better). Even if some point out grammatical errors in the comments sometime nothing jumped at me while I was reading.
I am completely of the same opinion as Harold 'Basilisk', strong people without connections and backing will just be goons, scapegoats or dead. At the very least MC should build a team of trustable friends. Even if they die because of his bad luck, he shouldn't stay alone if he wants to stay in human society. It's pointless to stay on New Earth if he's gonna live like an interspace ermit.
At the very least he should get someone to teach him how to fight.
Sophie sounds like the perfect teammate if I'm being honest, they have similar enough experiences, incredibly synergetic talents, shared secrets, and a complete lack of anyone else to rely on.
Finally I quite like Madam, I hope we'll get that interview someday.
Anyway good job on the novel so far and good luck for the future.

Well well well... by the time this review is written it's been exactly 3 books finished from my good friend here... so long ago it was when I opens a book that was in its first 30 chappys. it has been an incredible experience reading this book. This review isn't about the book itself, but the experience that it has brought. It's one of the closest books to my heart because of the closeness of the author and the experiences the resonated with me. The book took common tropes that would be thrown away in any book and went with to the end. Ever feel unsatisfied because some books never go through with certain revenge tropes? Well... this truly has fulfilled a fraction of my sadistic side, much more so than any other book... except his other series. This author isn't afraid to give it to us raw and that's what resonates with me so much. This review may be a little rambling, but this book it one of the most insane I've read out of a book not written by a member of an asylum, and it knows what to do to achieve. The author, the book, and my experience reading it has been extremely satisfying.

Extremely weak to ... strong? You would expect the story to move forward like this genre usually does but this story has some interesting surprises and mystery to keep you engaged and make you wonder what comes next. I was literally laughing at the plot twists at times cause I was having so much fun reading.
It moves forward at a steady pace. No 50 chapter training montage. No 50 chapter grinding. No 50 chapter fillers. Already wanted to put up a review at 5 chapters in cause it was so entertaining but ended up binging the first 2 books instead. This is a rare experience.

Robert Blaise's story, 1% Lifesteal is a darker take on the weak to strong archetype that we in the Progression Fantasy and LITRPG sphere so passionately enjoy.
I will try to limit the spoilers in this review to the synopsis, so without further ado, let us begin.
The core, underlying bedrock of the main character's story, his journey, is fate's incessant toying around with him. The world is unfair, yes, but it is particularly unfair to Freddy, the protagonist of this story. Life was hard for him as an orphan and harder still when a power that should've been a ticket to the break he was looking for, an easy life of wealth and lazy riches, was whisked away from him- the cost of his own unfamiliarity with the world he was stepping into.
He resolves himself to fight against the unfairness of it all, simply tired of the world taking away what rightfully belongs to him.
‘Hundred part harm ye bring unto thine enemy, one part ye shall recover.’
That simple power becomes Freddy's bastion, the power with which he would  defend that which belongs to him.
The Main Character is gritty, determined and most of all, angry.
    Who is this story for:
    - If you like the exploration of powers, new ways to utilize the strengths and limitations of said powers and more meta analysis.
    - If you like darker themes, a plotline where the main character is wronged and vows to grow stronger.
    - Not a litrpg, slower burn in the begining. Don't expect stats on this one!
    - Large chapters.

First read this book on Amazon, checked out on royal road to avoid waiting for the next installment on amazon.
First time in a while reading a book with a realistic main character, looking forward to seeing how he progresses, with no over the top god powers. Very well written especially when compared with the average level in this category. All the characters have major flaws and there own struggles which make them more believable.
    Interesting progression mechanics.

TL:DR I had two weeks to read from chapter one past the stubbing point and after five days I'm now waiting on the next chapter.
But of course, I'll give notes for the character limit and to give a simple explaination:
This story quickly entered a category for me that's pretty rare for most casual reads. This story feels alive. These characters have flaws, human flaws, like not making the most of what one has available and funneling the scope of their perspective based on biases and straight up lack of internal development.
As a real life person with character flaws, I can recognize em when I see's em. I love this story.
I love that boy. I hate his fate for him, but if there's one thing he's show that he's good at it's that he's gonna carry that weight. The world is cruel and uncarrying and the people in that world choose to allow it to remain so and for the sin of not rolling over and allowing himself to be squished he is forced to endure ten thousand hells with a baker's dozen of herculean challenges for chores. If that's not some of the realest and relatable challenges of simply existing, then I can't tell you what would make a more compelling read.
