Description

This is a pet cultivation story with mature themes, think Pokemon for adults, a tough world with bloody battles.

---

This is the world of Ensouled, where living creatures strive to cultivate their soul to grow stronger. With abilities adapted to their environment, all kinds of Ensouled roam the continents, reside beneath the seas, and soar across the boundless skies.

Humans, though physically weak, can bond with Ensouled and summon them to fight. In return, humans help their summons grow, learn new abilities, and improve their soul rank much faster than in the wild.

Zachary Zhang is a low rank summoner and, unluckily, a convicted murderer. His punishment is a cruel game of life and death in a jungle wilderness. He will have to capture new summons, fight off hungry beasts and even more vicious humans, and discover things about himself and the world he never expected.

As the guy loving anything summoner related, this story is spot on for me. As non-native speaker, I am not really bothered by any typos or mishaps as long as the story provides. And it just does! I have only recently picked it up and binge read it immediatelly. There were some things that were harder to swallow such as overly used soulwound at the beginning, but as ideas, its really good, just execution was not my cup of tea. Nevertheless, resolution of this problem was really nice and I am looking forward for this story to unfold further in the future.

The start of the story is really interesting. I loved pokemon as a child and to an extend still do. So I am really hyped about a pet cultivation story. I like that the summoners have to depend on the summons but are not completely useless because summons are not that smart and they can interact with the world energy.
Usually I would not start a story until much more content was released but K.I. Greens is an awesome author and all his other stories are also continually updated. So you people sotting on the fence should give it a try.

I thought this was great. I followed Kirby from his other cultivation series which I also really enjoyed. In this series he takes tropes from the beast tamer types of stories in the cultivation genre which I typically don't like but I thought this was one was good. Maybe it's because the MC actually seems to care about his summons and that gives me more Pokemon vibes and so far the characters are good as well. I'm invested in how the MC survives the wilderness, I'm the relationship he has with the other characters, and how he will get stronger.
