Description
***Book 1 for this story is stubbed, because it's about to come out on Amazon and Audible. If you want to read that part, head over there and search for Turret Mage by J. Drude.***
The System is dead. That doesn’t stop it from choosing us.
Ryan Kotes, a nerdy teen from Proxis 3, sacrifices himself while attempting to save his family from a group of vicious reavers, but, at the moment of his death, he is chosen. The System, an all powerful cosmic machine meant to elevate humanity beyond the stars, plucks Ryan from his home and transports him to a custom tutorial meant to teach him the basics of his class.
Unfortunately, the tutorial is in ruins, monsters want to wear him as a skinsuit, and Ryan’s class isn’t meant for combat. Oh, and why is a significant portion of his body made of metal?
Join Ryan as he comes to grips with his new life, battles hordes of monsters, and turns his non-combat class into something to be feared.
[Updates Tuesday and Thursday for now.]
***Ryan is a smart protagonist that starts out fairly weak but is able to progress through the acquisition of knowledge, materials, and the exploitation of bugs in the System. Give it a shot if that's your thing.***

- RagnotokRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0nowdays most books they feel rushed or repetitive, with this one you feel content, how even if its isnt something new you dont feel the repetitiveness, you feel how the pace is planned by the author and how he tries to keep the story satisfying, and weirdly enough it has an end, and one that doesnt seem just plastered to give closure
- Dr_InsidiousRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0In my defense(like the pun there) is a fun litrpg about some guy from a distopian sorta borderlands like world that gets isekaid into the system world, and is supposed to go back pretty quickly, but gets waylaid to say the least. It is humorous, doesn't get too caught up in the litrpg, and has some fun characters.
- Dracansi_tufaniluxRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story has been incredible. The characters, plot, and world were all fascinating and I could not put it down. The author also narrates the story on his patreon and I have been going through the content like lighting.
This is likely the best example I have seen of making a noncombat class deadly and I am so excited to see where it goes from here.
If I had to pick a critique of the story so far the MC can be a bit too in his head about things but it hasn't been a major issue for me. I just occasionally roll my eyes at how much Ryan can over think. - TrueRichardRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I think this story has good plot and look forward to reading more as it is written. The characters are well written and mc is very human in his actions and thoughts I eagerly await more from the author in future. I eagerly await the main Ryan getting more exp for his class and skills and think this a shining gem in the making.
- ElmoBRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story seems good, The flow is decent the magic is interesting the bad guys aren't you standard boring nonsense. give it a go its a good read. Good job Author its always nice to find a good story on RR I both recommend this and I look forward to the next chapter!
- Hotsho005Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0this is an incredibly unique story, that focuses not on personal power, but the power of the MC’s creations, how the powers work and flow are incredibly unique and the world building is top notch, I’m always excited to read more because it’s always fascinating to see how the mc’s powers will take the next step, and the slow relization of just how potent the mc’s powers are going to get, in a way he is a one man war economy that can craft, field, and repair every aspect needed to fight the enemy called the scourge, which are an incredibly unique hivemind enemy. I look forward to the time he has proper time to sit back and just… build and let his powers flourish, brining nonstandard magitech usage to recraft modern tech in new ways
- MaperionRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Well written. Original ideas about the skills and magic of the world. Engaging MC.
I spotted one typo in 38 chapters so no complaints there. As a random recommendation from another author, I am very pleased to have found this. Good job, please continue for many more chapters. w w - cbwRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0i right place right time to fix the itch, i read the whole thing, the fights were a bit long in my opinion but... i think they helped with pacing. magic scifi rpg ofc.good read, could use some polishing but if i had to chose between getting book 2 out sooner or getting this book polised more, id chose book 2 ty for story
- Pannion_DominRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Gets better and better. Especially these last chps. He's really turning up the action sequences. I'm not sure why there are bad reviews. I rated it 5 out of five. I really like how he's using his ability to MacGyver his way out of every situation. Words words words more words more words more words
- VerityGrayRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is an extremely entertaining and well-written book! Watching the protagonist develop over time and in the face of adversity not only makes for good reading, but it also all pays off in later chapters when things get gradually harder and more complex for him. The character actions are believable and the magic system is well developed and entertaining. It's a real treat to read an interesting story and then find yourself reading a chapter where all the power the character has desperately scrapped and clawed for comes together, just in time for an epic showdown. I can easily recommend this book!
