What is a god? What must a god do in order to heal?

In a fantastical world of chitinous people called cyanen (KYA-nen), a hardened warrior dies. That much is hardly unusual. But the warrior is given the chance to give back some of the lives she had taken, and in exchange, to redefine herself and her impact on the world. But why is she a snake now?

Many years before, the same warrior smashed through battlefield after battlefield, hurtling towards a fate no mortal could have predicted.

A gender-strange story told in the present and past about the birth, growth, and mortal memories of a land-bound god, an agathos daimon, in a world where horseshoe crabs have grown to sapience and walk on two legs.

Note: This will be a story with plenty of mystery, confusion, and deliberate contradiction. I won't claim to be immune to plot holes or mistakes, but please give this fiction the benefit of the doubt. Much will hopefully be explained later.
