Wonderful storytelling. Characters are very realistic and their relationships are compelling. Makes it easy for readers to empathize. The story and plot points are very well done, sometimes surprising, and tied together nicely with no loose ends. Fight scenes are executed skillfully (these puns don't lie). And the world building is well detailed and convincingly probably. A nice breakdown of the cultivation magic levels and logistics makes the progression easy to devour. Binge it like a savage, or chew and savor as you will, either way this is very enjoyable and high quality work! Start readinggg alreadyyy

This is a very well done story.
The figthing style of a Berserker is well implemented. The fight scenes are entertaining and the effect of abilities makes sense.
In some scenes a imperial law and justice system is used and enforced. I like the dialogue for this scenes, because it's not just empty phrases but the reader can follow the rules.
I think overall this story has more dialogue than a lot of other stories with more solitary orientated main characters. As a result other characters bring more into the story.

Love this authors work and this one is even better. Side characters feel real and impactful and nothing feels like filler. The progression gets a little fast but I actually enjoy it as opposed to a thousand plus chapter slog. Can't wait to read more! Uhh I need more words for the review to go through sooo guess I'll go drink some lemonade.

Good, well written story! Usually i dislike warrior stories, but this is more spellblade and cultivator, than pure warrior!
A new perspective on cultivation in a seemingly realistic world.
The characters are fleshed out and their motivations understandable.
The Progression of the MC is fast, hopefully the author guy doesn‘t run out of steam with it and prevents the trap that many cultivation stories fall in and prevents the boring repetition of nearly the same and endless fighting for each advancement stage. But for now he has!
I would have given one star less for the fact that the fighters shout out their technique names. But he made a vote. So my fellow readership is at fault!

I'm generally not a huge fan of cultivation novels, but I'm loving this so far! The characters are fun, the world is interesting, and the plot is compelling-- which makes for an overall fun, easy to read story. The main character does have a suite of abilities that can be kind of cliché, but that doesn't stop it from being any less awesome. This story is simply a fun time, and I fully recommend it!

Absolutely superb, like my title said above, this was my first ever cultivation story, and it was a rollercoaster. Max is an absolute Chad and he's completely driven to grow stronger and beat the ever-living F*** out of every d***face cultivator who's done him wrong, which as it turns out, is most of them haha.
Starts out with him as a low-tier peasant, before he grows into something more. The fights are satisfying and visceral, and the characters are very likable, I listened to this on audible but I wanted to leave a review here as well.
    Read this story, NOW!!!

Author Rick Scott has created another hit piece of literature!
I originally read, and am up to date on, the crystal shards online series he is also writing. I loved that series and still do, but this book is hands down superior.
Under normal circumstances, I am not a fan of cultivation fantasy but path of the berserker has made me a believer!
Rick does a great job drawing you into the world without it feeling like a lecture or class. It comes across as natural. I also love the idea of a warrior MC that just keeps coming no matter what, and that's the feeling this MC gives. After his internal flame has been ignited, he is willing to throw himself into a meat grinder, and does, just to be true to himself.
If you love cultivation world's, or just good quality literary adventures, give this book a try and I truly believe you won't put it down.
Another positive is Rick has a previous story that is already several books deep, so I'm not worried this work is going to end up dropped.
As a side note I have been on RR for years and years, and this is the first time I've started a book that didn't already have an impressive number of chapters (I hate starting a book just to have the author give up after 10 chapters) and one of the few books I've thought was good enough to leave a review and interact on the chapter boards. If nothing else, I hope these two facts will push you to start this book if you are still unsure or on the fence.

An atypical story, the main character is angry, and rightfully so. Cultivators took over Earth, and humans are treated like dirt. The only way to move up in this new world is to become a cultivator as well, due to the sheer difference in power between cultivators and mortals. However, for someone who's hated cultivators his whole life, he could never join their ranks. Good thing Max is a berserker, empowered by a mysterious figure to fight back against cultivators.
Good premise, it is obviously gritty and dark, but such is life. I like the story so far, and it's kept my attention well. I haven't seen many Daopocalypse stories, but from what is displayed here, the genre has potential. Great start!
