Description
Fin Wilson is a brilliant young physicist on the cusp of a breakthrough, but one clear morning, an anomalous bolt of lightning shatters everything he knows. The unnatural flash rips through the sky, striking him dead and sending him into darkness. He expects oblivion. Instead, the chaos of the storm fades into an endless starlit void. Disoriented and very much alive, Fin awakens in a cosmic expanse of stars with no world in sight.
Floating in that strange nothingness, Fin meets Kailos, an embarrassed bureaucratic deity in charge of cosmic affairs. Kailos solemnly confesses that Fin’s death was a divine accident, a clerical error in the machinery of fate, and offers extraordinary compensation. As penance for prematurely severing Fin’s life-thread, the deity offers him a second chance: reincarnation in Aetherys, a distant world of elemental magic. Fin is stunned to learn that he will be reborn with his memories intact and a newly enhanced affinity for elemental energy, especially the lightning that once killed him.
Now reborn in the realm of Aetherys, Fin’s scientific mind collides with raw magic in an alien world. He retains all his Earthly knowledge even as electricity sparks at his fingertips. Around him, science and sorcery intertwine. Questions and possibilities swirl in his mind. Fin steps toward a vast new destiny as he struggles to harness the storm within and uncover the cosmic mystery that brought him here.

Don't miss the chance to give this a read, give it a few chapters to get the feel of the novel if your unsure it's for you. I'm reading this daily and have yet to be disappointed.
- Catz SRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Well written.....look forward to every single chapter. It's such a hard thing to wait for the story one page at a time. I like that all the thought processes are well articulated. It gives such a well rounded background of the story. Good job that you've done. I would like to see more family interaction though in the future.
- Alpha_Litrpg_enjoyerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I love this story. The MC is very smart, methodical and logical which I enjoy.
The system is well structured and one of the better ones that I've seen in litrpgs recently.
I also think that the beginning time skips are done well and are spaced very nicely apart so where the story keeps it's flow but doesn't skip too far.
Overall really enjoying the story so far, can't wait for more chapters! - PhillipLynxRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Lightning cultivatator with really fleshed out background and life. Hero struggles and gains far superior power abilities while ignoring things like money and such as he is raised in a minor lords house hold. Love the power types and racial upgrade that occured but he will need to spend more time with family or risk isolation off an extremely long loved life span
- moonsterdarkRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I love the story and where it's going but I still have a few hangups that won't let me put 5 stars.
First I'd like to say, don't get turned off by my review I'm only writing what I disliked but the story really is great. I've read everything available in one night, and I'll wait for more chapters with impatience. Everything is in spoilers because most of my problems are with the story itself.
First, the reincarnation didn't align with what was promised.
-Adult consciousness in infant body. The MC's adult consciousness was detached until birth after that he felt pretty adult to me. I think there is a need to insist further on memories rushing into him the first time he sees the strom, as it is, I barely noticed the memory trigger's activation. At least in mind he was an adult, his body was definitely still toddler-level. It was a bit disgusting by the way, no need to insist on how he hated shitting himself, I got it the first time.
-Complex thoughts and comcepts returning to him as he ages. I barely felt that. He's felt pretty whole from birth, not at all like some that would have gaps in their knowledge.
-No interaction after reincarnation. Really? Break that rule so fast? And for what, a triple-affinity core? Either the importance of the core is severely understated and it's an exceptional achievement on a universal-scale or Kailos is being a noisy busybody, he's already made a grave mistake, we wouldn't want him to get distracted by Fin.
Second, private tutor. What has this guy done in the 6 years MC was learning under him? He seems pretty uneducated now that we've begin the academy arc. I feel like he should have the same overall ease in theorical classes that he's shown in combat class. The guy's supposed to be some bigshot teacher that taught princes before, no? How the hell is MC still clueless about Tier 2 evolution requirements he it's already been a whole year since he's been ready? The basic class shouldn't be necessary for any reason other than the teache - PoorguyjRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I'm loving the story so far but it can feel a little short would love more about the world action is written well but I'm missing some depth to the world's description to really get invested more the other regions nobels and countries the academy etc all could be fleshed out more instead of certain things we already know repeated
- SoulFireMageRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Edit: I'm keeping the review below as its honestly how I felt at chapter twenty.
If you forget about the scientific methodical character at the start, this is actually a fairly good power and skills fantasy with decent writing. The one start off is heartfelt however due to the sheer change in character compared to what I felt I was lead to expect. Some echoes of that still exist later on, but the shift was jarring and may put of others who were looking for consequences of that type of individual being reincarnated.
Yknow, science mind methodically exploring a new life etc.
Original:
The premise is nice, the writing flows OK too. I want to like this and it's readable enough that I'll likely continue. But author, you made your character turn majorly into someone else, with little clear development or reason for it. The promising methodical observant and calm scientific personality disappears. It feels like a rewrite is needed if you were to publish. Or something. It ends up like many others with the battles and power trips by nobles. - UrekMazino11Royal Road★★★★ 3.5Series has lots of potential but lacks in the writing style. Most sentences are like 7 words max with loads of stops and commas it makes the tone seem so militaristic. Even when they’re talking about something simple like food, it’s as if the mc is analysing everything, really takes away from the story
- edenryRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Read up to chaper 38, I feel the bones of this story have promise but reading it in the current iteration is a frustrating experience.
Events that could be multiple chapters or even an arc are skipped over in a sentence- the result is that the following rewards feel hollow/unearned and we miss many opportunities for character development or depth.
(Very minor spoiler ahead)
A perfect example of this is the MC's at home tutor. Their initial introduction sets up their relationship to potentially be one of mutal growth- MC learns about the world while challenging their tutor's assumptions using iseaki knowledge- but there isn't an on page interaction between them again. It's such a waste of a character and an opportunity for world building- it would be the perfect time to explore the lore of the world or highlight principles this world lacks knowledge of (that later will give the MC an advantage).
If the author didn't want to spend much time in the early years then fully expanding a few significant events followed by a timeskip would be a more enjoyable reading experience than the current version which reads more as an overview. - KangaratRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Pure power fantasy here. Our young MC is the best at everything. Weapons? Combat? Magic? Theorycraft? Social skills? You name it, he's the best. Every contest won, every legendary skill/power given. Skill choices? Don't bother reading them, just go to the bottom of the list. It's the most powerful and always the one taken. If you enjoy OP MC's, this one is right up your alley.
