- AsraphelRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Style wise, this story presents itself in a unique way between it's changing povs, showing us how each character views the world they're in and giving an incredible amount of depth into my next point: Story
The world instantly shuns away typical system litrpgs and presents us with a cinical view that we humans are used to, expressing itself a way that I think is the most intriguing part of this story for me. Realistic depictions of how humanity would build itself around those powers in a world that is still getting used to a recent system.
Grammar. Not much to say here, just, incredible. The narration flows nicely from each paragraph into the next and, although the novel doesn't use any sort of "complicated words" (from my perspective), it stills manages to weave in nicely built descriptions without the need to use flowery nonsense.
Characters. The story is still in it's early buildings but so far the characters all feel alive, their personalities not only mere descriptions in a spreadsheet but something that we, as readers, can parse through and discover. Between the different perspectives of the story we can see how each character behaves on each other's povs and the way that these different narrations fit in together is amazing.
Overall the story is an amazing new world to dive in and explore together with our main character, an Orfan with a broken world view, learning about it as much as we are. - Allan GreenwoodRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Awesome start was very upset when I got up to date.
Author clearly knows the genre, there's a system, a main character who is a stubborn mule with areas of stupidity and brilliance. The key information gets drip fee in so there's never pages of exposition.
Basically it's a really well done. I feel like there a couple of well fleshed out characters already - Dem0n5Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Emotion, character, story, progression. Five stars well earned. Take the plunge, start reading. The rest of this is to fill minimum word requirements. I'm excited with where the story has been and where it's going. The fighting isn't too drawn out or too brief. The progression is a consequence of the character getting into deep stuff and surviving rather than grinding or system interference.
- Eddie LRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I ended up here off a meme ad about big swords. I stayed for one of the best introductions to a litrpg story I've ever seen. From an opening hook that head fakes you on the protagonist to the body horror of a man's face being polymorphed for two way communication, to the gleeful destruction of a training dummy as the uneducated' lead character shows that he is more cunning that you would think this story is just full of interesting momentsStyle - All good authors have a distinct voice and this one seems no exception.Story - We are still early on, but this is a very slow burn story. In a world of litrpg stories where the character levels up seven times in the first chapter, this story hasn't had a single level increase in thirteen, but somehow still nails what makes the genre work. On top of that the story is peppered with hints at the larger world, name drops about other races not yet introduced and high concepts that I hope will play a part.Characters - a relatively small cast so far but I like what I see. The lead is the stand out. He isn't whiny, he isn't stupid but he isn't bombastically edgy like others. A quiet, thoughtful guy who will wreck your face.Grammar - the story is a smooth read. I see some comments in the comments about errors but they aren't there when ingo to look. So I won't count themPlease don't give up on this. Much like it's lead characters this story is absolutely brimming with potential and after taking the time to write this, I deserve to see it through.
- AtaxiaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The author is very good at describing the setting. In my opinion it ran a bit long, but it's really no harm to the work you just have to be patient.
Characters are dynamic and well-rounded. MC has a unique backstory and a general disposition that makes sense. The POV changes are infrequent, short, and actually interesting to read.
Keep it up. - Justinwrite2Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little, yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face, is that in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so. But there are times when a critic truly risks something, and that is in the discovery and defense of the new. The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations. The new needs friends. This night, I experienced something new: an extraordinary read from a singularly unexpected source. To say that both the book and its maker have challenged my preconceptions about fine writing is a gross understatement. They have rocked me to my core. In the past, I have made no secret of my disdain for Brandon Sanderson's famous motto, "Anyone can write." But I realize, only now do I truly understand what he meant. Not everyone can become a great artist; but a great artist *can* come from *anywhere*. It is difficult to imagine more humble origins than those of the genius now writing on RR, who is, in this critic's opinion, nothing less than the finest author here. I will be returning to RR soon, hungry for more.
<3 all joking aside, great work, Keep it up. - LemonPersonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I was immediately pulled into the first chapter; the engaging writing and intriguing setup really captivated me. The story feels well thought out, and the magic system is refreshingly different from what I’ve seen before. The unique twists add a nice level of complexity to it, which I really appreciate.
The humor is spot on too—it’s present without being overdone, keeping the tone light and enjoyable. As for the main character, he has a lot of potential and I would definitely describe him as simple. His personality and life experiences add interesting layers to the story that are still being explored.
What I love is how distinct the other characters feel. Each one brings their own unique magic, personality, and quirks to the mix, which really enriches the narrative.
Overall, this story is fantastic, and I can’t wait to see where it goes next! - LilFangRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I am not used to leave reviews ,( mainly because i suck at writting them) but seeing that this story doesn't have any is utterly criminal despite how good it is.
So, as far as I have read, the writting is captivating with the power system well explained ( especially for those that are not used to "systems" stories), as well as the lore which despite not being mentionned a lot nor detailed, ( since it is only the start), looks interesting and makes us want to know more about it.
The characters introduced so far all have their own quirks and personalities, which incites the reader to want to know more about them as well as their motivations.
Regarding the grammar ,except for a few minor mistakes, I didn't find anything that could make us not liking this story in that regard.
As i said earlier I am not used to write reviews but if someone like me, who don't make reviews often leave one, shows how great this story is.
I sincerly hope you will not drop this story for it has potential
Thank you in advance for the future chapters. - LittledragonroarRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Good lord, here we go, road to 200 words because this story is absolutely worth it.
I just finished reading this litRPG masterpiece and I'm still reeling from the experience! The characters are expertly crafted, with Alarion being a standout protagonist whose journey is both captivating entertaining. The writing is superb, with a unique style that draws you in and refuses to let go. The author's wit shines through, not just in the author's notes and the Ordinate side bit, but in every conversation. (Looking real frickin' hard at you, Zeke.) The pacing is perfectly balanced, with a narrative that flows seamlessly from one moment to the next.
The grammar and editing are impeccable (well, at least with a little help from readers), allowing the reader to focus on the story without distraction. But what truly sets this book apart is its ability to transport you to a new world, filled with rich lore and immersive details. The litRPG elements are skillfully woven throughout the story, adding depth and complexity to the narrative.
Overall, this book is a fascinating read that will keep you up late at night, turning pages and begging for more. Alarion's journey is one that will resonate with you long after you finish the book, and the world-building is so vivid that you'll find yourself wondering about the characters and their struggles even after the final page is turned. If you're a fan of litRPG or just great storytelling in general, do yourself a favor and click "begin reading."
Do it now. - Lone-wolfRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Start Reading this novel, keep all the rest of the novels/work for later. This book is on the level of primal hunter or possibly greater and I am glad to be a part of it from its starting journey. I hope the author keeps writing chapters everyday until he is worked to the bone but still maintain good health so that I can enjoy his stories for long.
