My Quiet Life is a really good story that goes over things that very few other stories go over, especially not fantasy setting stories. It goes over a young girl who goes deaf after an accident and her life after that. It goes over her abuse after her family learning of her deafness and it talks about her being abandoned. It talks about her going through one struggle after another, her fears, and the connections she makes.
The story is also about her healing from the things she went through in the past, even if the memories never truly fade and how she changed since the beginning of the story.
the author wrote a lot about the world-building and lore of the world it’s based in. The author allows us to see the girls thought process about different things and how she feels about her deafness along with occasionally letting us see other people’s perspectives about her and the things she goes through.
the story arcs are well done and keep the story interesting, with everything working together to help you understand her thoughts and the way she sees the world.
As for the grammar of the story there are a few misspelt words or words that shouldn’t be there but overall it’s well written.
(thats all my personal opinion about the story. Also sorry if I mess up the grammar anywhere).

Although the beginning is a little rough--not in terms of writing, but in terms of how hard it is to watch Lilika suffer through all that without knowing when there'll be a better time in sight--the rest of the story is fantastic. The thought put into characterization and worldbuilding is great, and writing the different perspectives for the reader to get a better understanding of the situation is brilliant. It was a relief when the first perspective switch happened, and I could finally know why everything that happened from Lilika's unknowing perspective happened.
Anyway, I got so hooked on this story that I binged to the latest chapter, 45. And then when I went back to reading another one of my other followed stories, I was flabbergasted when the main character had a conversation with another character. My brain has subconsciously rewired to expect a deaf main character. While I figure that it'll be back to normal tomorrow, right now I'm getting cognitive dissonance while reading my other stories, and that's a damn fine sign that this story is amazing enough to stick in my head like that.

'My Quiet Life' is a fresh read with an emotionally honest, deeply immersive story, strong worldbuilding, and realistic characters. It focuses on a deaf character, a rare protagonist, and her struggles navigating an unforgiving and complex world.
The initial chapters can be tougher to read, but the story is incredibly rewarding once you get through that bump, which is crucial in laying the groundwork and understanding the protagonist's thought process.
    ---------------------------------------------
    Drama ahead!
The story is about grief, healing, and acceptance. It explores some darker themes like abuse, disability, abandonment, but without them being unbearable.
The author's unique style is very immersive of every characters' perspectives.
    Story & Setting
You can tell that the author mapped out the world in great depths; the lore is revealed gradually as the story unfolds and there are so many layers to the environment which makes the world feel real and truly lived in. To top it off, every chapter is complemented with hand-drawn artwork!
    Characters
We explore the world through the eyes of a 5-years-old child, through her flaws and limited perspective, and sometimes unreliable narration. As other characters’ POVs are introduced, your understanding as a reader grows and the story takes new meaning.
Grammar: I didn't notice any major mistakes.
    IN CONCLUSION,
I can't believe there aren't more reviews! Amazing and fresh story with beautiful illustrations, give this one a read!!

If you like stories that are unafraid to let bad things happen to their protagonist but know how to balance it with heartwarming moments, this is for you.
    Style:
It’s good, but nothing special. The descriptions of the environment are just long enough to convey the important points. I also think the inclusion of different Points of View is well handled.
    Story:
The pacing worked very well for me, it takes time for what‘s important but knows when to move on. The worldbuilding is solid and I like how detailed the religion is. The philosophical aspects are well thought out. The big moments have great emotional weight, this is where, in my opinion, the story‘s true strength lies.
    Grammar:
    I notices very few mistakes.
    Character:
I love Silika :3 she must be protected. The story builds a lot of character investment. The other characters are also good, I especially like how a later chapter gives us a more complex perspective on Silika‘s mother.
I‘m excited to see where this story goes, especially given the kingdom-building tag the story has.
Since RR won’t let me post this otherwise:

I really love the art between the story lines; it gave me a more impactful experience about what's happening. So, for example, the empty plate tells a story, yes, but it also gives me the feeling or the challenge to reinterpret it.
I have learned something today; thank you for sharing. I'm looking forward to adding more visuals into my work too.
I wish you a great day and success. o/ Kumi

    Deep story, with traumatic undercurrent.
only critic would be, that sometimes the thoughts of the mc seem a bit to advanced for a jung child, but this can be forgiven as the story would be worse otherwise. I hope this story will get the popularity it deserves and that the mc takes revenge on her family

I generally like the story, characters, and worldbuilding.
The MC Silika being profoundly or completely deaf with
Expressive aphasia, apraxia, or otherwise a loss of coherent speech
from a head injury is not something I've seen before, and the delayed reveal because of her inability to tell what is wrong due to her deafness I think was really cleverly done.
However, Silika's thought processes often seem a bit too advanced for a child of 5-6, which I personally consider a problem with the story being in 1st person perspective with such a young protagonist. Which leads to what I consider the largest flaw of this story: It STAYS in 1st person when changing POV characters, and does a poor job of differentiating them. The author's voice stays fairly consistent between the 4-5 different characters that take turns narrating the story.
If the first pov switch had occurred before I had become invested, I would have dropped this immediately. As it was, it was several paragraphs of confusion to understand whose perspective the story had suddenly shifted to, and I think the author is doing their story a great disservice by staying in the 1st person when switching away from Silika's perspective.
Otherwise, the alternative pov chapters do an excellent job showing the reader context to events around Silika that she isn't present for or can't perceive. One issue I expect will get worse as the story progresses and more characters are introduced is that Silika uses unique names for the other characters due to her inability to learn their actual names, but all other POVs use their actual names, and it is not always immediately clear who is who.
