Mutated: A Mackey/Newsome Horror Fiction

Something is stalking the woods surrounding Nathan's Parish.  Something deadly.

Detective James Mackey and Deputy Dave Newsome have plans to spend an uneventful guy's weekend out at the lake.  But the best laid plans so often fail.  Newsome and Mackey find themselves embroiled in an eerie investigation, when a young man's eviscerated body is found less than a mile from their cabin.

Joining forces with Sheriff Leeta Pendergrass, James and Dave do their darndest to find the person or beast responsible.  Time is quickly running out.  With each successive kill, the path of blood leads closer and closer to town.

Disclaimer: contains tropes.This is a breather story from the darker psyche thriller I just completed.  A chance for these characters to let their hair down while having the socks scared off of them.
