Description

Bailey Gardiner believed that her biggest issues were dealing with her current murderhobo TTRPG group, especially a rude player named Dylan from the Monsters & Labyrinths game who always managed to get under her skin. However, everything changed after a heated argument with Dylan culminated in both of them being struck by lightning.

She woke up thinking that she had ended up in a coma dream when a disembodied voice asked her to make an M&L Character Sheet. But this is no dream. The pain is real… She’s not Bailey anymore. She’s Silas Vander’Bludd, the edgy ‘Grim-Dork’ Demonling Occultist with a tragic backstory, trust issues, and a disgustingly high charisma stat. A character she made as a joke.

Armed with her deep rules knowledge from a decade of GMing, a borrowed body full of unresolved trauma, and the lingering hope that Dylan might’ve been dragged here too, Bailey has no choice but to play along. Teaming up with a no-nonsense Elf, a way too eager to get into a fight Dragonkin, and a not-so-goody-two-shoes Paladin, they fight their way through Goblins, Corrupt Businessmen, and Pirates, trying to not only find Dylan for Bailey, but find a mythical treasure.

But the deeper she gets into the story, the more she starts to question the reality around her. Who really created this campaign? Why do certain things glitch when she tries to dig deeper? And who is the mysterious GM pulling the strings behind the scenes?

Whoever they are, they’re rewriting fate. And they might not be playing fair.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading the story. It may not be the deepest story but it doesn't need to be. It is a fun read, I hope the author has much fun writing it. Only critique I can think of it at the moment is a few spelling mistakes and grammar. This is still early into the story so it has plenty of potential to surprise me. Overall, I wish the best for the author and hope they go on to do amazing things.

As a casual isekai/RPG enjoyer in reading and series, I like to say that the way you make the main character get into the new world is refreshing then what I am used to. You know the usual train or car accident haha. But like I said in the comments, I really enjoy the dialogue the characters have between one another and the Main character personality. I find it quite interesting that her new adventure has to be lived in the skin of a totally different person and has to adapt to her new body. I'm definitely going to keep reading. Keep it up!
