Description
When isekai’d healer-turned-saint Eric Mercer dies watching his world crumble under the hand of a godlike titan, he expects peace or oblivion. Instead, he wakes up fifteen years in the past, Summoned once more into the world of Elyndor: his memories intact and the apocalypse inevitable. Now stripped of his strength and starting again at level one, Eric must rebuild everything—alliances, power, and trust—before the end returns. Healing? Protection? Those won’t be enough to stop the end of the world. He must abandon the sanctity of his old magic and embrace something far darker. Every choice reshapes fate. And every decision he makes draws him closer to redemption . . . or ruin. Chapters release 3x/week, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, at 6:00 a.m. PST Discord- join the conversation with other fans! - CommonGruntRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great job so far. I'm really enjoying the advanced knowledge of the world and Eric's attempts to keep what he knows in line with what could be expected of a newly summoned champion.
One of the things that I dislike in books is when the entire adventuring party is forced to be on the same page, even after major betrayals. Most real-world people don't think of themselves as side characters, so seeing someone constantly forced to put other people's preferences ahead of their own makes me expect that the group should be on the verge of splitting.
Like, I get that Eric is a near-messianic figure, but as of Ch. 19, I don't see a reason why Shannon would trust Eric or Naomi to come up with a better plan than her. I've been that "oh you're nerdy, so we'll leave the planning to you" friend (like what you're setting up with Naomi), and that's only ever meant that my friends had their own ideas and wanted to be able to snipe from the sidelines instead of being forced to present their ideas out of whole cloth.
I'm hopeful that Shannon and Peter's agency and problem solving capabilities don't get destroyed by being part of the protagonist's party. - TheHumbleHegemonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'll be real, when I first picking this up I thought it would be just enjoyable slop, but damn I'm loving this it is in fact not slop, the only downside is that it is only 29 chapters so far so I can't binge read hundreds of chapters at once
- ZaafielRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This one is a fun read. Pacing is good and the characters are interesting. So far, no fluff chapters. The author has struck a good balance between OP regressor with future knowledge and the fact he is starting over. Grammar is fine, nothing to pick at there. There are little elements but thankfully the choices are limited so no long exposition. Also the author does a pretty good job of introducing world mechanics and history without info dumps. Oh and we also get romance.
- FartfartfruitRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I’ve enjoyed the author’s previous stories, and this one feels even more aligned with my tastes. The system stands out as something fresh, and the regression element is handled really well—especially with the timelines already shifting. I’m still deciding how I feel about the main character, but I definitely find myself rooting for him. The supporting cast is intriguing and adds a lot of interest.
- l_am_IRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Very very shocked to see this isn't still #1 on RS because it is by far the cleanest, most creative, and well executive narrated among the top 10 stories on the platform right now. I can't speak highly enough about it. I'll keep this as spoiler free as possible.Grammar: 5/5Nothing to complain about. Clean throughout.Style: 5/5The action pulls you forward without losing its footing. The internal monologue voice is consistent and distinctive, and the profanity lands naturally rather than feeling like it was thrown in for edge. Occasionally the prose over-explains things the reader already understands, but this is a minor gripe.Prose: 5/5Some of the imagery is genuinely striking and the author has a good sense of scale. The weakest stretch is the emotional sequence toward the middle, which tells you about grief rather than making you feel it. Everything else though hits well above the genre average.Story: 5/5This is where the story earns its stars. The setup is creative in a space where creativity is genuinely hard to come by. Rather than dropping the reader into yet another reincarnation story where the MC simply outpaces everyone around them, this one builds in real consequences, real loss, and real emotional weight before the second chance even begins. The result is a premise that feels fresh without being gimmicky. The MC carries baggage into the new timeline and that makes all the difference.Characters: 5/5The main character comes through clearly. Tactical, self-aware, darkly funny when the situation calls for it. Supporting characters are sketched rather than fully drawn, but for this stage of the story that is perfectly reasonable and there is obvious room to grow. All in all, read this story! It has so much potential and has proven multiple times that it deserves a good look from any reader, regardless of what your looking for.
- Heroic PierogiRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I started this story because I was caught up on the other 6 stories that I'm following. Next thing I know, I've binged 12 chapters and there's no Next Chapter button.
It's a typical Isekai setup (Hero gets sent back in time for a second chance and uses future knowledge), but it's very well done. The 4 Main Characters are well written and different enough to matter, and even the Side Characters that serve as Romantic Interests are more than just set dressing and sex appeal.
I am enjoying this a lot, and I'm sure you will also. - Hexinator123Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Eric as the MC is a connectable and approachable character that expieriences the end of his world and is tasked to prevent it.What I like about this story is that the actors reakt like real humans. No "Yes" to every one of the MCs actions and even though it has the timetravel paradoxon atached only some parts change this early in the plot.Very interested how it continues.
- BookinyaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Loving the story so far. Can’t wait to see how it develops. It’s always refreshing to see an MC who is strong because of his experiences as well as powers gained. I hope we get to find out what the other primal abilities are in the future. Plus words for the minimum, sheesh.
- CFC ArcaneRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Im taking time out of my day to help this author write more since I enjoy their story and want them to continue. Their story is good and fun to read, and I hope that it continues unti the future so that I can keep reading a new chapter in the mornings.
- AnateruRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm very much enjoying this one. The writing quality is very high, without the grammatical and spelling mistakes that tend to break immersion (at least for me). The story is also developing quite well. The characters have enough individual personality to be interesting, and the quirk of a time looper who completely changes his class and focus is interesting. I'll definitely be continuing to follow this one.
