Description

"Stubbing Book 1 early may! Just rewritten Book 2. Check it out." -Alfir2 I had finally done it and achieved the ultimate Paladin build. Maxed stats, impenetrable armor, and so many resistances that death itself had given up on me. I was an unkillable tank, an indomitable force. Nothing could stop me. And then my PC exploded. I died. Irony, thou art a cruel mistress. But instead of the afterlife, I woke up as my Paladin character… in the wrong freaking genre. Instead of castles and dungeons, there were people flying around on swords, and shooting qi beams like fantasy laser guns. “This is definitely the wrong genre,” I muttered, watching a pompous young master sneer at me. “Kowtow, kiss my foot, and beg for forgiveness!” he declared. I looked at myimaginarymaxed-out health bar, then at his flimsy silk robes. Oh, this was going to be fun. DISCORD! Hang out with us!

The story is great, it's fun and entertaining. I really like how everyone is flabbergasted by the mc and his skills. He's very strong from the start yet he's not Invincible and his fights aren't easy. As the story goes along you see that it's part of a much bigger thing which also explains how mc ended up where he is and its very interesting and merges the stuff well. The characters are great I like them a lot, especially the mc.

The story starts out like some kind of wuxia satire, but really starts to develop into its own thing later (30 chapters or so). The characters, dialouge, and world building are all great. I normally don't recommend stories that take awhile to get good, but after the story hit its stride i couldn't put it down until i caught up. I highly recommend this story.

Honestly one of the most emotionally impactful works I have ever read. The author writes with such a clarity and depth that is rarely found, whether in its fight scenes or the bonds between its characters. I started this novel expecting little and yet continue to read, fascinated by every new chapter.

I have never left a review in years of reading on rr. But I wanted to leave one here as this is right up my alley. Loving it. Not enough stwe'll. Out there that mix these disparate fantasy concepts so well. I was sad to hit the end after a binge and started it over again. Looking forward to more!

I'm completely hooked, from the very first line I couldn't put it down. The witty internal monologues and great writing style definitely played a part in this. Each turn in the story found itself being interesting, except perhaps the slightly boring fight scenes, but that's just my personal preference, I don't love fight scenes in the first place. Author's writing style is great, and everything seems quite logical in regards to the MC's decisions and such.
All in all this is an amazing piece, looking forward to future chapters.

Fun read if you like xanxia and western style sword and sorcery. It's a little tropey, but mostly in a tongue in cheek way with a real cohesive story. The MC is established as strong while not eliminating tension. Skirts litrpg without drowning the reader in a system heavy status box hell.

It's a 10/10 for me. Characters are enjoyable, no immediately obvious errors in grammar or spelling, some good world building that I'm looking forward to being expanded on. Mainly looking forward to the development of a few of the side characters cause those can really make a story good/better/excellent (whatever the word I'm looking for is)

Just started reading this story but its already great! The author shares all my feelings about the illogical-ness of a Chinese cultivation world, so I'm not to mad at them for using them. The main character is overpowered but logical and not a murder hobo or a beacon of wish-fulfilment and false confidence like so many others. No, it is not hyper realistic yet, but the world is very well fleshed out and feels immersive. Supporting characters also feel well thought out and understandable, getting their own short POV chapters already which already lends to the 4D-ness of the world. You're doing great Author-san/nim, please keep up the good work!

First off, I'll start by saying that I love stories that are self-aware about how ridiculous xianxia tropes can be, despite how cool the genre is. So far, Immortal Paladin is an awesome take on blending a xianxia setting with sword and sorcery, transmigration, and multiple worlds/planes.
The mc is introduced as a powerful character, so the story does feel a bit more slow-paced compared to basically any Chinese xianxia story – especially sign-in, AI assistance, and simulation stories. But, the plus side of this is that you get the chance to see characters actually develop (hurray! The minimum standard to define good xianxia is reached).
What I haven't seen, which I hope I never will, are 1 dimensional villains who get beaten, flee or die, and then somehow come back for revenge. I'm pretty sure Nine star hegemon body art recycled this a number of times with the same villain. And the mc doesn't seem to have ridiculous plot armour, though his servant does with her "misfortune [something] bloodline". Boo, almost worth docking a star with that flimsy plot device, but it has yet to be used beyond any trivial effect, so I'm fine with it.
Otherwise, I'm liking it a lot. This is the first Paladin in a xianxia setting story I have read, and it does not disappoint.
Lastly, this 'spoiler part' below contains the mc's oath/creed?, stated in ch. 37. If you're feeling hesitant to read the story, read this oath. I feel like it's a good illustration of the quality of writing this story offers.
"To walk is to seek. To seek is to understand. To understand is to judge with fairness."
I am neither bound by crown nor chained by creed.
I walk the road of self-discovery, where every step reveals truth.
I do not raise my blade in hatred, but neither do I stay my hand against cruelty.
I am no saint, nor do I claim wisdom beyond others—
Yet where justice is absent, I shall stand.
Where despair takes root, I shall strive.
Where power crushes the weak, I shall strike.
    Humanity is flawed, yet bea
