Description

Fate unravels. Truth dawns. Destiny shifts. Haoyujin Jieyuan was born for greatness—of that, if nothing else, he’s certain. And in a ruthless world where power is everything and might makes right, there's only one path he can take, no matter how painful it promises to be. So when Jieyuan joins the Gleaming Stone Sect, he does so with the intention to outstrip everyone else and quickly ascend through the ranks. Instead, he ends up in third place in the entrance trials and grossly overshadowed. But he remains undeterred. He still has years ahead of him to catch up and then overtake them—or so he thought, until he mysteriously regains memories of a previous life after a failed assassination attempt. Realizing that there’s more to the world around him than meets the eye—that there’s somethingbiggoing on beneath the surface—Jieyuan decides he wants in, reevaluating his priorities and setting his sights much farther. Setting down this path might mean pitting himself against Fate itself, but nothing ventured is nothing gained, and Jieyuan isn’t the sort to let an opportunity like that slip away, come what may. Regular release schedule:1 chapter everyMonday, 4,000 to 8,000 words per chapter.

Jieyuan, an exceptionally talented merchants son, is still somehow still overshadowed by others talents.Wonderful writing and characters, dynamic and interesting interactions and relationships with deep unique world building. I'll be honest that I have trouble following all the characters names sometimes, but honestly I do with all books with unique non-english names (I'm looking at you Tolkien) - but I do find everything else perfectly good to follow and appreciate all the tone of mystery.Honestly it only gets better with time, the plot never falls off and the world building just grows.

I liked the original and I like what's available of the rewrite thus far.The prose is definitely one of the strongsuit of this story next to cool world building, interesting character and a magic system that has colors. Which is obvious the best type of magic system. What I didn't like are the names. They keep feeling like they should mean something more due to their compound names. Queue me who googled a lot only go be hit with the dreadedYour search - liangshabei - did not match any documents.Suggestions:Make sure that all words are spelled correctly.Try different keywords.Try more general keywords.

A very well-writtn, slow-burn xianxia novel with amazing world-building. Plus for super long chapters.
    STYLE
Words... flow, they just flow. I appreciate the line breaks, the chapter jump-cuts which really help counter the slow burn I was talking about. I am personally a big fan of joint words like Skillseed over Skill Seed, but that is a bit subjective. Either works.
I get people saying they can't understand the word choice or say it's distracting. Well, I get it but they're still wrong.
Chapters are super long so its easy to get immersed, and you learn something major about the world every chapter while still maintaining a good pace. My biggest 'contrapositive' is the combat scenes, which I either love or hate.
    STORY
Did I mention the world-building? Yes, yes I did. The bulk of the story for me is charting and learning about the different fantastical things in the book, honestly its been a long while since I read a Xianxia that kind of combines modern magic systems and cultivation in a great way.
I appreciate how the author throws in the usual tropes here and there, then messes some other up so you can't assume everything like you can in a standard, cliche cultivation webnovel.
    GRAMMAR
As I said, no issue with the word choice. Some people have a problem with the names and whatnot, I find it makes no difference. People look to this novel with their own bias of how things should normally be constructed, my advice: Don't.
    CHARACTER
Now this will be where I drop the rating (by a small bit). I feel sometimes things are cut too short and side characters get arbitrary development if at all.
Its a bit distracing how the novel is occassionally slow, then fast, then slow for characters. I just wish there were more characters involved than just the three, though I can understand the author choosing to forgo others to rapidly deliver exposure and introduce the MC party.
Overall, solid book, give it a shot.

I’ve been reading this since the original version and it’s one of my favorite stories. The cultivation comes off as a lot weirder and more mysterious than any other story, and the operatic mysteries about the characters’ origins and abilities are appealing. There’s this low level horror vibe in the story too, it’s not scary but it would probably be a little creepy if it were visual media. It’s also a weirdly visual story because each arc has a particular color to its environment.

Addicted. Must read more. Review fast.Fate unravelled is the meat of a cultivation novel with it's own unique twist; fried together with an isekai, a slight pinch of mystery and a bunch of fresh characters that come together to make a delicious progression fantasy that you can't get enough of.Perfect for hungry readers like myself.

As the title says, the naming scheme is unique. But, that wasn’t off-putting for me. There was maybe one grammatical mistake in the first nine chapters, and the prose is nice. The author has clearly put a lot of work into the world building and it shows.Good novel so far 👍

Let me start by saying that the Cultivation genre is by far one of my most favoured ones. My first light novel was about Cultivation and it was, and still is, the best written Cultivation story out there(Reverend insanity for those of you wondering). That said I've read plenty of Cultivation stories after that. Some of them really good. Others? Not so much. This story, is definitely one of the better ones out there. There are a few things that don't sit right with me but they can easily be explained as a difference in opinion rather an any particular fault of the authors. As has been stated in the notes section of the prologue, the novel has been written with a degree of fastidiousness that is quite rare in any written story and the attention to detail is much appreciated. The story is easily very immersive and will picture up a vivid and actively evolving world to the imagination of the readers. The style of writing is a delight to read and I've spotted exactly 0 grammatical errors as of now. The characters have been done particularly well and have been shown to have different personalities and emotions rather than just cardboard NPC's. Overall I'd easily give this story an 8.5/10 and would urge you to read it. I'm definitely sticking until the end and who knows, maybe we might see each other in the comment section xD.

For now it's much better that the old one. It's quite a novel view of the consequences of a memory mix between two parallel entity and  I hope you maintain this quality.
The worldscape and power system is well defined and original but still contain enough mysteries even for the old story readers .
The author allow this story to bloom from a generic but well done isekai pupa to a beautiful and intriguing wonderfully winged Saga beginning.
Keep up the good work and it will grow fine. Many bards will help spread the love and allow you to pursue new pathway to develop your work.
Just don't fall in the mary sue pitfall and it will be fine.
Don't hesitate to let someone else review your wording too, sometimes i had to read a sentence two or three times to understand your meaning.

I don't really have any major complaints about this story.  There's the occasional typo, sure, but the author responds to edit suggestions, so those don't tend to last long.  They aren't overly common anyway.  Aside from that, I really don't have any issues with the story, be it in terms of characters, setting, plot, etc.  At most, I guess I could say I don't really see why certain changes were made in this story compared to the previous version.
As for things I do like, the characters feel like the biggest highlight so far.  There just isn't enough story available yet for me to judge the setting too much.  Where the plot is concerned, I currently have faith it'll deliver, based off of what I've seen so far.
Overall, if you enjoy Xianxia/Cultivation stories, I highly recommend this one.

I like the novel so far.
I'm glad the MC is a classic xinxia protagonist who wants to cultivate to become an immortal, a point sorely missed by many western XinXias where MC is forced to cultivate to save the somebody or something.
The cultivation system is unique and there seems to be an upper limit on how strong a person can become. The world building is good so far. It follows classic Sect system of XinXia world.
Characters: This is where I disagree with the novel. From what I have read so far, the cultivation affinity has a large impact on how a person behaves, this reduces the scope of how varied and interesting characters in the novel can be. I hope that this does not remain true when more characters are introduced.
    A suggestion to Author:
Please don't make the terms used in novel too different from other novels, it's very hard to follow.
