Description
A group of four young men set off together to discover their dreams. The elven ranger Kilnoher wants to explore every forest and mountain that he sees. The human wizard Dan wants to learn how to use the blade and become a famous swordsman while hiding who he truly is. Icepaw the Kitsune seeks wealth and the finer comforts of life. Hydrozeno wants to learn who and what he is and what exactly he can accomplish in a great new world. Together they will travel as mercenaries and adventurers seeking their hopes and dreams in a journey that could take a lifetime to accomplish.
The plan is for the story to take place over the course of hundreds of years. Be prepared for time skips.
The story is heavily inspired by D&D and so the main cast of characters follow a fairly traditional four man adventurer set up. Most of the story will be told from Hydrozeno's perspective, but the others will get their moments too.
I also want to note that my first attempt at the story can be found at the end of the fiction and still acts as the bare bones of the story as I rewrite it. So as soon as you hit those chapters you don't have to keep reading, especially if you don't want spoilers as to what is going to happen. Although there will be changes to some aspect of the story as rewrite it, so not everything in the old version will be accurate or even happen.

- DabossUnberogenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I liked how the story was a bit different than some other LitRPG books that I have read. There is a bit more initial world building, but also an unconventional System, layed out more like a tabletop RPG than a video game. The grammar and writing was great, and it was perfectly comprehensible for the entire time. There were no glaring plot holes or narrative errors either. In short, it is a great story to read in your spare time.
- JamalCheat2Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Very interesting magic system. Currently leans more into hard magic, more than LitRPGs tend to, and for me it works well while not feeling video game-like. The characters feel very well fleshed out and each to me feels as if they take on a different style of fantasy main characters while not being watered down. So far this feels like it could be a hidden gem. Very much looking forward to getting more into the world at large.
- JosiedolphinRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Style - very on point with the style a litRPG, if you want to dive into the magic system it is written separately so a reader can choose to dive more into the mechanics or skip that section with no impact to the actual story itself. (Rarely) At times the heading are not very noticeable and this can impact the delivery of the chapter.
Story - A fun story that will keep you on your toes. ElderCarr has several unexpected twists with in the first several chapters.
Character- Each character has a distinct personality and has major character development. ElderCarr uses the characters strengths and weaknesses together to build each other into better characters. I really enjoy how ElderCarr has added in foreshadowing very early in the story which draws the reader in.
Grammar - I am not good at grammar nor spellings so this score is based off that, the only writing errors that happen is two too many periods or no space between words, as well headings are not formatted in a way that stands out
I may be biased because I am married to the author however he doesn’t tell me any spoilers and I was tempted to give him a bad rating 😉 - T.A.L DeasonRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.54 characters find themselves thrown together. Each character bringing something different to the group. In a world where magic exists and the MC's are working to build their stats. The author is building a detailed world with a good amount of lore. I really enjoyed the story so far. Good detail form the author, and the fight scenes are great.
Style - the author goes a little bit off the beaten path here adding detail that is necessary to the story at the end of chapters, but personally I liked it. It takes some getting used to but it is very enjoyable.
Grammar - this is my only complaint. some misspelled words and misuse of punctuation, but not enough to take away from the story. It's obvious that the errors were due to the author being in the zone and not from lack of knowledge. I'm positive this will be fixed on future edits.
Story - the story is great after 4 chapters the author did a really good job of building the MC's backstory and creating a very detailed world. I have my favorite character, but I'm sure that everyone can find a character they relate to. I love the D&D style and can tell the author has an extensive pool of knowledge when it comes to the subject matter. Very well written.
Characters - 4 MC's all well written. Each one has a distinct personality and I really like that the author created differing fighting styles. Once the four MCs come together there is a little bit of conflict which helps to move the story forward.
Overall, this is a well thought out story with a beautifully built world. The author is definitely influenced by D&D and other Might and Magic books, but still manages to make the story his own. I can confidently recommend this story and I am excited to see where the author goes moving forward.
